I hope you enjoy this chance encounter as much as I did. I was doing a range test with the Mavic. When I stopped to turn around and come back, these beautiful creatures were drifting towards me and I was able to capture this magical scene.

Almost always, my internet is never able to handle 4k. I always knew that it was good, but I didn't know why there was so much hype around it. I always thought it would look marginally better than 1080p, and even then I thought 1080p looked really good. I tried 4k in this, and thank god it worked because boy was it breathtaking. 4k really does make you feel like you're really there, flying above whales. Thanks for the footage, it was beautiful (especially the reveal shot at the end). Can't wait to get my hands on the Mavic Pro so i can get shots like these. This was awe-inspiring.

+DJonMax Thank you I think. The key to not bothering the wildlife is to have a small and quiet device such as the Mavic. Very small and very quiet. IMHO the whales may not have noticed it at all or took it for some kind of bird if they did.

Great capture man! Very peaceful to watch :) I got some similar footage of Right Whales about 500m from me but with un-modded Q500 4K I kept losing video when trying to get down close at that range, no problem as they came closer.
Even now that I've done some basic antenna mods on the controller, range on the Q500 doesn't compare with the Mavic... it looks like the perfect travel quad?

Dustin Dunnill impressive, been looking back at my Mavic footage but it looks nowhere near this quality. Even when shot at c4K
+TheHawxflight it was around 5pm so the sun was getting low Once I turned to have the sun more to the Mavics rear, the shot really started to look good.
Hey Dustin Dunnill, I want to start a channel with my friend. I film with my drone and he filmed with a camera, but his camera is not to good. He will buy a better camera. And I will a better drone because with my drone I cannot see live. I went to by a phantom 3 standard, but its to expensive. You're awesome!🤘🏻☺️😁.
