I like the basket or weaving wall idea. Great ! On the dining area, I would suggest to put a high table console with multi functional like drawers n lower compartment installation of the wall divider, it will definitely add more vibrant n spaces.

The basket wall around the mirror is awesome. For safety purposes, buy your sister a step stool. I almost killed myself by stepping off of a counter height chair onto tile -- boom -- splat! I hit my forehead on the tile floor -- ow! My brother said to always use the proper tools like step stool or ladder to avoid accidents. You had such a nice place and things to start with. Looks great!
