- Opening and closing credits clip created from the first made-for-TV movie, "Dukes of Hazzard - Reunion!" The theme song "Carryin' On" is a duet sung by Tom Wopat and John Schneider. Upon its original airing in 1997, the "Dukes of Hazzard - Reunion!" won its timeslot in the ratings, which set up the green light for a second reunion movie. The only original cast member who didn't appear in this movie was Sorrell Booke, who passed away in 1994. This was also the final time Denver Pyle played "Uncle Jesse;" Denver was fighting cancer during the filming of this TV movie, and sadly he passed away December 25, 1997. The DVD is available on Amazon: amzn.to/2OmOoKk If you have never seen this movie, it's worth it just to spend one more episode with Uncle Jesse.
U can tell that uncle Jesse was sick but RIP Jesse and boss hogg and Rosco
I think the beard was fake cause of that but man you couldn't tell much by looking
That's what made the 80s shows fun to watch.
Csritiana Juli Luduaena 😦😦😦😦
Arguably the best show ever produced and shown. I lived and breathed the dukes of HAZZARD. The general lee is the ONLY car that will be always on top!!!
I loved the show. This reunion movie, not so much.
47 years old.... LIFE LONG DUKES FAN 💪💯
I watched the movie. But, I loved the TV show even better. I had the Hot Wheels.
I own both of the TV movies and I still watch The Dukes Of Hazzard to this day and I love the real car jumps and stunts no CGI used
Well, I have all 7 seasons of Dukes of Hazzard, the TV movies and the Dukes animated series as a bonus.

In February 1996, The Nashville Network (TNN) began airing reruns of The Dukes of Hazzard, which became successful in the ratings. By November 1996, there were plans for a reunion special. Schneider said a reunion special had been an idea for years but that prior attempts to create it were unsuccessful. Series creator Gy Waldron wrote the script and served as the film's executive producer. Waldron had written a version of the reunion script as early as 1988, three years after the original series had ended. For the reunion movie, this original pitch was then updated to reflect the passing of time, and to work around the death of Sorrell Booke in 1994.
The popularity of The Dukes of Hazzard reruns on The Nashville Network led to a rejuvenated interest in the franchise, which resulted in the reunion film. A sequel reunion film, titled, The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood, was released in 2000.
I hope they will make one more movie
Me too
I've always felt like in this reunion, The cast was just the right age to come back and reprise their roles! The second reunion made it seem more obvious that the Dukes are older and in a different chapter of life...
I didn't even know there was a second reunion.
@@katymvt They made a second one in 2000 where they went to Hollywood to sell some recording tapes of all of the country music stars who preformed in Hazzard!
@@TheNova64000 That sounds stupid.
@@katymvt I don't know exactly why they made the second one in Hollywood, but by that time both Boss Hogg and Uncle Jesse had passed away. Perhaps the producers felt the need to do something different. Here is the link to the movie... ruclips.net/video/x4p2LmT2ols/видео.html
They were obviously older in the reunion from the 1985-1997 reunion was 12yrs
This was a LOT of fun. I still remember us getting together to watch this when it aired. Too bad they didn't make it back in 1991(?) when they had planned to but changed their mind. Sorrell was still alive and the studio still had 19 General Lees left from the series. When they decided not to they went ahead and agreed to sell 17 of the Generals so it's probably better in one way since they probably would have wrecked some of them unless they chose to use old footage for nearly all the stunts like they did in the 1997 reunion.
Glad they made it when they did though before Denver died
Fantastic!
I MISS Boss Hogg they schould of had this before he died not after
I agree. It's sad he wasn't around for that. What's worse is that I think a year after this was when Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse) was next. So the Hollywood Reunion was more of a tribute to him.
@@nascarfanatic2425 i heard they got the idea for this one at sorrel brooke boss hogg funeral service
@@MikeLutton That could very well be. They seemed to pay some tribute to him in this, too. I felt Hollywood was a little more of a tribute to Pyle than this was a tribute to Brooke, but they certainly honored both. It would've been nice if they also did something to pay tribute to James Best after he passed. Not saying that they needed to make another reunion movie, but something nice to honor the best Roscoe P. Coltrane ever. Honestly, the ones that played Roscoe in 2005 and Beginning were a joke. There was none of Roscoe's humor and charm from the original show. It was one of many problems I had with the reboot movies.
Love this❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
‘Hazzard County, USA.
Now for all of y’all that ain’t ever been there, you better buckle up ‘cause you’re in for a ride. Lots of folks have been curious about whatever happened to the Dukes of ol’ Hazzard County.
First there’s Bo. One day, ol’ Bo was drivin’ to Nashville to see the Opry but took a wrong turn at Charlotte. Which turned out good ‘cause now he’s a race car driver on the pro circuit. That’s him in that fancy sports car headin’ for Hazzard.
And Luke Duke was full of plans to leave Hazzard and set the world on fire. But instead, ol’ Luke’s puttin’ out fires as a senior smoke jumper for the forestry service. Now that’s hot.
Sweet Daisy Duke followed her heart after some slick Romeo. It didn’t work out, but friends, you talk about change. The ‘DUKE’ on her jacket doesn’t mean her name. That’s where she goes to graduate school getting a PhD in Ecology. Yep, that Daisy.
Remember ol’ Cooter? He took a bath and had a shave and got hisself elected to Congress. Only in America.
Now Boss Hogg has passed, God rest him. But he left his empire to Sheriff Rosco and Rosco’s doin’ his best to maintain Boss Hogg’s high standard of low villainy. But he’s still Rosco.
And Uncle Jesse is the Grand Marshal of the whole reunion. If they can ever get it off the ground.
Anyway, you’ll see everybody because they’re all comin’ to the Hazzard homecoming. And believe me, you don’t wanna miss that.’
Some of the cast seemed to age 25 years in the 12 years after the series ended. Schneider was 37 here. Looked younger. But even he aged drastically just 4 years later when he began Smallville.
Reminds me of a high school reunion
The original CBS airing had split-screen credits.
RIP Uncle Jesse , Boss Hogg , Rosco P Coltrane . Hazzard County isn't the same without y'all . Hee Haw 01
Uncle jessie was our uncle

Carrying on like we did before is the song name
"Carryin' On" composed by Archie Jordan and Larry Bastian. Performed by Tom Wopat and John Schneider :)
Why didnt they use teh orginal theme song?
Who was James mohlmann
Csritana Juli Luduaena 😕😕😕

Wondering why Waylon wasn't part of the cast...Don Williams got the part instead.
Was just a rat deserting the ship. He didn't do it because they didn't offer him enough money for it.
@@theoneandonly6431 The reunion was made on a low budget and apparently Waylon wasn't happy with the size of his pay check! He narrated one of the Dukes video games that came out shortly after though, Go figure!
@@TheNova64000 Yeah, turning his back on the show that gave him a steady paycheck for 7 years!
@@theoneandonly6431 Even if the cast members didn't receive a huge paycheck for doing the reunion, you would still think that reprising their roles, could potentially open doors for them as far as landing other acting gigs goes! Tom Wopat guest starred on Home Improvement shortly after the 1st reunion, and John Schneider got his role on Smallville shortly after the 2nd reunion...
R.I.P. to Waylon Jennings, Don Williams and Mac Davis, also Lance LeGault, who announced many Dukes of Hazzard promos on CBS!!
