Thank you Dic Lisa for this very informative video. Right now I have GERD and been taking omeprazole for almost 2wks. My acid reflux’s come and go and I always burp and passing gas. I found a link that shows what to eat and what to avoid. If I don’t get any better Then I have to consult my doctor who’s treating my respiratory and digestive system.

I wake up choking on stomach acid, and can't breathe, but I don't have heartburn, and I don't eat after 6pm, and I'm not overweight. It's very scary, I've read its best to sleep on left side, as it always happens on right side.

Supposedly it's because the stomach is deeper on the left side, so if you sleep on that side, the acid will be less prone to travelling up your throat.

I watched videos on keto and carnivore diets and let me tell you after 3 days of about 20 carbs, plant protein powder and red meat and eggs I feel way more full than I used to. I took 100mg of caffeine today, I had a small small hint if heartburn for 2 hrs on an off after the caffeine. If this diet cures my gerd and psoriasis I will be jumping for joy!!!!!!!! • @rosewhite---
    @rosewhite--- 2 года назад +5

I had total syncope with really frightening black out three times over about 9 days and each time after eating last bite/last spoonful of food.
I had had GERD for some years that I now know is CAFFEINE ALLERGY that gave me a stinging pain either side of my throat before the usual acid reflux started. The stinging started immediately after usual light breakfast of slice of bread or toast with butter and usually some jam or marmalade.
During rest of day the GERD was slight and if worse I took antacid.
Then I started getting a pain at bedtime when lying on left side and had to turn over onto right that made the pain almost disappear.
If I turned back left i almost heard and felt a heaviness sort of slopping over as though my esophagus was filled with food or drink that had not progressed down into my stomach over the 1-2 hours since last meal or drink.
I wonder if the lower lower esophageal sphincter LES was not opening to allow the last meal to pass into the stomach.
This went on for several weeks at the time had first COVID lockdown made it impossible to get doctors appointment.
Then I had the first of the three syncopes and finally managed to call a doctor who immediately said it sounded as though I might have a esophageal cancer and arranged an endoscopy.
That took a month due to COVID delays.
I only had a drink of water several hours before the endoscopy and was surprised to see camera entering esophagus, stomach and first few inches of small intestine looked healthy and pink and the doctor said no sign of cancer or other problems.
Just after the endoscopy I noticed I had the pains in throat and reflux after a breakfast of tea and a rye crispbread. I reasoned that the rye was so innocuous that maybe the tea was the culprit though as I'd been drinking tea for at least 70 years it seemed ridiculous.
But I searched the medical literature and found that a caffeine allergy can develop and give reflux.
I immediately stopped drinking tea and bought and drank decaf coffee and almost all the gerd has disappeared except for a slight sore throat if I make the coffee a little strong. I mostly drink water and soya or almond milks and cow's milk and only two weak decaf coffees a day.
Therefore I think this is what happens with GERD-SYNCOPE is actually a SPHINCTER PARALYSIS:
    The caffeine induces GERD.
The GERD irritates the esophagus and LES.
Eventually the GERD irritation causes the LES to fail to open so that the last meal remains in the esophagus to give that feeling of food at the back of the throat.
At some point after this LES paralysis develops a meal will so fill the esophagus that it causes pressure on the adjacent windpipe sufficient enough to starve the lungs of oxygen,
The lack of oxygen then starves the brain and causes the SYNCOPE BLACKOUT!
The syncope causes a self-preservation reflex of deep swallowing and deep breathing that restores the oxygen supply to the brain.
As I now eliminate all caffeine and GERD inducing food from my diet by carefully checking ingredients of all food and drink I have little GERD and no sensation of esophagus being filled with unpassed food.

I would like to suggest an easy to try alternative approach that maybe could avoid all of this. Just drink a couple glasses of water and jump up and down for a couple minutes to jiggle the stomach back down to its normal position. No harm or cost in giving this approach a try
Forty years ago, I did an activity which forced part of my stomach up through or past the diaphragm. It was a couple months later that I suddenly started having severe stomach pains. I was initially misdiagnosed by a doctor as having ulcers. It was a couple of years of misery before I realized that the doctor was wrong and I had gastric reflux disease, or GERD. Often, GERD happens naturally without a clear cause. More so with older people. Normally, the esophagus sphincter and the diaphragm sphincter muscles line up and reinforce each other. If part of the stomach is pushed or pulled up through the diaphragm, the sphincter muscles don’t line up and stomach acid can more easily leak into the esophagus, causing GERD.
Other people suggest drinking warm or hot water to relax the muscles, I would suggest cold water so the heavy water will stay in the stomach longer. I would also suggest doing it first thing in the morning so the water won’t affect the digestion process on other food. It may take a repeat on a few successive days for the esophagus to adapt to the new longer length for the stomachs to stay in its new proper position. I would repeat the process anytime I got heartburn or acid taste in my mouth. I have been trouble free for over 35 years now. I later learned of a gastroenterologist in Michigan who recommends this process also; maybe others now also.
The body needs strong hydrochloric acid in the stomach to trigger the esophageal sphincter to close, to break down bulk foods generally, and to specifically separate protein into the amino acid components to be effectively absorbed into our blood stream from the small intestines for use by our body to make new proteins. Most or all GERD medicines block the production of or neutralize the hydrochloric acid which then interferes with protein digestion and interferes with esophageal sphincter closing. Both of those actions are counterproductive.

So, this doctor said that acid suppressing medication is safe for long-term use ... so, how long is long-term use? Does this mean taking it for the rest of one's life? Taking acid suppressing medication long term can lead to more symptoms such as altering the GI bacteria, decreasing the absorption of iron; magnesium; etc.

If you combine pills plus surgery you will be 100% free from symptoms. I will have a surgery in the future i'm just doing money right now. White turmeric is valued for its ability to purify the blood. It is an antiseptic and a paste applied locally to cuts and wounds helps healing. It is used as an aid to digestion and to relieve flatulence and colic. The starch, shoti, is easily digested and nutritious so is widely used as part of an Eastern regimen for the sick or for the very young.
It is an antioxidant and is said to help sexual problems in both men and women. It is said to strengthen the uterus muscles and so help in childbirth and to cure male erectile dysfunctions, as well as being an aphrodisiac. White turmeric is also used to stop diseases recurring (it’s an anti-periodic), and to treat colds, flatulence, digestive disorders, ulcers, gastro-intestinal problems, and the tisane will prevent indigestion if taken 30 minutes before a meal.
It has also been used to clean and purify the blood and detoxifies the body. Zedoary helps in cell regeneration and is good for the immune system. It regulates body temperature and is used in cases of fever

ranging from 4 to 9 then at night it goes down to probably a 2. It's taking for
ever to be seen by Gastroenterologist. I'm worried it could be something really
bad. Lately I feel pain in my back .. Been having a somewhat runny nose when
eating but lately it's not that light , I noticed a strange sensation today

It was misdiagnosed as Bells Palsy but mine hits harder, just my luck. If you or anyone you know got the pfizer vaccine as I did. I strongly recommend you get the shingles vaccine. People are linking the pfizer vaccine to Bells Palsy or even worse Ramsay Hunt Syndrome which I got. When you get Ramsay Hunt the zoster virus which been dormant in your nerves for many years wakes up and attacks your facial and cranial nerves pretty bad and the shingles vaccine prevents that ( *along with facial paralysis)., I hope you're doing better.
