    In my house i would just go with EB-THERM 500 for electric floor heating and for heating Wales on my radiators i would go with Danfoss eco living.
    For me in sweden heating is important and i would not go from my trusted brands.
    Thank you for the entertainment!

    (As a sparky) in sweden, it is not okay to check if the power is off with a tester that doesn't work without battery's as a multimeter, but rules differ heavily!

    Very helpful. I have the same set up with two zones and from reading it appeared Tado would not work for this . Also a number of videos were talking about adding wireless receivers being hard wired into the boiler etc
    This is much simpler , a wired thermostat in the wall connected to the internet bridge. I’m guessing as it’s not wireless or removed the need for this controller in the boiler . I was going to go with nest which I had before in a previous property but this is far better with each TRV being able to call for heat . Thanks

    Thanks for showing the mounting of the thermostat as I have the same setup as you (thermostat mounted to a 1 gang metal pattress box) and I could not find anywhere on the tado website any detail of the mounting - I was thinking I was going to have to fill in the hole from the existing stat which I didnt really want to do in case I needed to return it etc

    A great vid and you've tipped me towards Tado over Hive and Nest. Installing looks simple and the explanation is the best I've seen. I'm looking vm forward to controlling radiators with the ap. And having different temperatures at each radiator will solve the problem of some family members wanting Sahara heat and others happy with a balmy British 21 degrees. One issue might be if room temperatures are controlled by phone presence and people with different preferences wanting to watch say TV together (an old fashioned thing I know). I can see a heat war breaking out unless there's a master control function - I' do hope that the manufacturer's thought about this. Anyway, I 've some work ahead changing all of our old dumb radiator valves to thermostatic valves before popping on the Tado heads. Any advice re avoiding a heat war would be much appreciated.

      Thanks so much for watching Paul! I really appreciate it! :) Oooh that's a really good question... I'm not entirely sure if that is possible... Tado Support might be able to help! Quite often it's just me and my wife in the house, and we're generally happy with a similar temperature! :)

    So with this then you don’t need the boiler part just wire the thermostat to the exciting and it will work. So I’m guessing if it’s wireless you’ll need the boiler part? Sorry if that sounds dumb just trying to get my head round it as I’ve only seen people use it wirelessly

    Great Video. I have an Ideal Vogue Max combi boiler which is about 2 years old and is run via Halo thermostat set up. Would I be able to install just the Tado Smart thermostat valves and Internet bridge to some of my radiators without the need of installing the Tado hub? I have read that as long as my boiler is compatible with Opentherm and 240v, my Ideal boiler will work? Can you please advise? Thanks so much, Ian

    Thanks for the very informative video. I like this system.. I have the Evohome system installed for a few years but this seems more advanced (ofcourse tech advances) and will advise family - who are interested - to look at Tado
    One question: in Evohome, the control tablet screen can be password protected.
    In Tado, as you say, the radiator valves can be locked down - can the Tado wall thermostat be locked down as well so the only control is via the app.? Stops family fiddling with the temp settings?!!

    Just out of curiosity does your boil allow for modulation/ have a digital output? If It does, was there any reason in particular you decided not to use it? Just bought a tado and trying to decide how to install it. Very comprehensive tutorial!

    How many radiators plus a boiler can the starter kit cope with? What system do I need for a lot of radiators? What happens when the WiFi isn't working? Sometimes we loose the WiFi for days.

    • @kiphakes
      @kiphakes  2 года назад +1

      So you would need Tado radiator valves for each radiator if you wanted to control the temperature in each individual room. The starter kit I used just came with the replacement wires thermostat and the internet bridge. You can still use the Tado if the WiFi goes down, you just wouldn’t be able to use the app to control the heating outside of the home

    You don't normally install the bathroom, you have to have at least one radiator in the circuit, this acts as a bypass and releases pressure on the system when it is operating. If you do not have a one, it will damage your system.

    • @kiphakes
      @kiphakes  2 года назад

      "you have to have at least one radiator in the circuit" - I don't understand what you mean by that?

    • @thefoodiechannelcookingfro1822
      @thefoodiechannelcookingfro1822 2 года назад +1

      @@kiphakes when the boiler is on it has to circulate water. By putting TRV's on all the radiators the water can no longer circulate around the system and the boiler will likely overheat cook it's self. You may need to make sure that by having TRV's on every single radiator, that you have not cut off the systems ability to circulate the hot water away from the boiler.
