Hello and welcome to this weird crevasse of the internet where we get really excited about music (particularly Taylor Swift) and break down our favourite albums and songs. They’re quite similar but it’s actually crazy how much this sounds better than the original version when you listen with headphones. I can hear every little detail so much better. The way her voice sits and everything just mixed better. This is way more atmospheric
Yeah the headphone experience does really showcase how superior this version is.
My favorite part in the original is the parted vocals in headphones it gave my adhd head so much serotonin. Nonetheless TV version is the only one that exists.

My theory is Taylor is willing to release tracks from 1989 early because there are going to be soooo many vault tracks from 1989 and the 2 so far are used in movies. She just want to be able to give permission to use the song. But I still think speak now is next…. But who knows at this point. This waiting game feels like a heavenly torture

The Shake it Off lawsuit is still ongoing. Although she can, I don't believe Taylor would release 1989 TV (and lose even more potential royalties) before the case is settled. I honestly think 1989 TV has been ready since last summer, hence the Stephen Colbert interview, but was delayed due to legal issues. I think that's also why she announced Red TV so far in advance to sort of placate fans expecting a summer release. She was ready to drop Wildest Dreams TV because it was trending and also had this song ready for the movie it'll be featured in. She won't release the whole album, but I think she's OK releasing songs randomly if the moment calls for it.
I believe Speak Now TV is next. The trademark issue will be much easier to solve. I also don't think it's the 1989 TV cover, she would've made a way bigger deal out of it. I think it'll be unveiled when she announces the album.

I do agree and understand! It’s sooo iconic that she’s at a stage in her life where she feels like she can do whatever she wants and it doesn’t matter and I love that for her!! I think we can’t help but raise the question though when the break between red and the next announcement has already been longer than anyone anticipated. Which is fine, but between Fearless TV release and Red TV announcement was only a couple of months, and obviously she wants to own her songs, so I think we all thought it would just be sooner than this! So it’s surprising when she has these songs ready but is not releasing the album just yet :)

I also feel like both Wildest Dreams TV released because of we heard it on Spirit Untamed promo, then several months later the original version blew out on tiktok and This Love TV released following the promo of The Summer I Turned Pretty.

1989 was Taylor’s most popular era, to the point where she said she was worried about overexposure and left 3 years between albums instead of 2. For that reason I don’t think she will do the publicity circuit as much as Red, because she was trying to give ATW its moment in the spotlight after being a hidden fan favourite for years.

i seriously doubt she would release 1989 until the shake it off lawsuit is over. her lawyers are smart enough to advise her against it. even though the whole case is a little ridiculous, it would look bad to a jury for her to re-release a song that’s being accused of copyright infringement before it’s even settled.

I have a weird feeling that there are sooooo many vault tracks for 1989 that it’ll almost be like a new album?? So maybe she is more excited for us to hear those than the re-records of the existing tracks and therefore feels ok drip dropping those songs. It still feels a bit weird but I think we’ll all be pleased in the end

Fun fact I learned from another RUclipsr: she wrote “This Love” initially as a poem before she started writing for the RED album.
So it’s kind of a speak now era poem/song…? May be a subtle hint. I also agree she won’t release 1989 until the shake it off lawsuit is settled. She’s a business woman as much as she is a fan pleaser!
By the way she changed the lyrics! In the second verse of the original version she says, "and I could go on and on." In this version, she says, "baby I could go on and on."

I love hearing other fans talk about the minor let down of her recycling photos and I really love how you guys explained how important it is to show what the album meant & what it turned into. Still have hope she will do 1989 justice!! Manifesting!!
my theory is that she released wildest dreams, and this love, since she even mentions in one of the lyrics of this love "in silent screams, in wildest dreams". So maybe they are complementary songs. Maybe its a nod for us fans that, yes, 1989 Taylors Version is coming!
I just want to point out that she didn’t start the heavy promo for Red really until a couple weeks before the album dropped- I remember for months people were complaining about how she dropped the release date for Red and then didn’t do anything, but then she announced All Too Well: The Short Film and ended up having a ton of promo. I’m sure there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that we aren’t privy to- we just need to be patient and trust that she knows what she’s doing.

The “In the night” and “In my mind” is a lyrics mistake, both the og and Taylor’s Version say “In my mind” but Taylor’s Version have in the lyrics “In the night” idk if she does say In the night but she doesn’t pronounce it correctly, or she has mistaken the lyrics for the Taylor’s Version (also in spotify both sv and tv say “in the night”
@@anthonym1250 in the 1989 lyric booklet, it says "in my mind" and its clear that that is what she says in the stolen version. in the lyric video that SHE made, she put "in the night." i really dont understand how she would mess that up, so i think she actually forgot and sang "in the night" and it just sounded to much like the original coincidentally.

I'm pretty sure she wants to capture the feelings, the memories, and the moments of the stolen albums. That's why I don't think she will release any of the albums together, meaning, no double album drop. Also, selfishly don't want her to double drop albums cause I want every vault track possible, especially for Speak Now and 1989. Double dropping the albums plus their vault tracks would just be an overload. I think that with swifttok becoming a thing swifties have gotten out of control with easter egg speculations. We were unhinged with just twitter and now we've moved into the ridiculous. We all just need to calm down and remember that she's Taylor Swift, she will deliver like she always does.
Having said that. I do think something must be coming because Taylor dropped This Love TV. It could be because of the movie but it could also mean that she's planning and plotting

I’m kind of just like accepting whatever Taylor gives us at this point. I feel like some Swifties are taking Easter eggs way too far and it’s just getting kinda annoying. Guys is it just me or is the new version giving wedding vibes!? It's very romantic and emotional it feels like something you'd have your first dance to at your wedding!! Is this an Easter egg?! Because out of all of the songs on 1989 why this love?! But the new version is amazing and one of my favourite songs off the album so I am so excited!!!!! 💕✨

My favourite song from 1989 finally getting the love it deserves
When Taylor Swift stated "reliving the 1989 tour in my head and spiraling" and with the Speak Now & 1989 merch. It reminded me of her performing Enchanted/Wildest Dreams performance from the 1989 World Tour
Besides her owning all her albums, my favorite part of the re recordings is how she is making the background vocals more clear and hearable. Sometimes you can barely hear anything. Like in Better than revenge, she can sing, "Think about what you did", "Come on, can't take it back, come one", "She deserved it", and "You're so much better now?!" AH IM SO EXCITED

Something I also noticed with all the rerecordings is her diction and pronunciation is so much better. All the older versions it was clear that before Rep her country twang snuck in and made her mumble sometimes but on song like state of grace she makes every word perfectly clear.
yes especially with all too well. i remember having to look up the lyrics for multiple points throughout the song and (maybe its because i know the lyrics now) i never had an issue with understanding the old or new lyrics in taylor's version

She’s being a businesswoman. Wildest Dreams experienced a resurgence because of TikTok. She chose to release the re-recording consequently.
The creators of the movie that This Love TV is on likely discussed with Taylor their desire for the track. So she released the re-recording to capitalize on it.
That’s my theory anyway.

I love how so far the 1989 (Taylor’s version) singles all relate too ‘wildest dreams’ with it being mentioned as a line in ‘this love.’ Makes me wonder if this love is a hint to anything if ‘this love’ is mentioned in another song likes a chain of songs that mention each other in their lyrics 🤔

i fully agree with your guys' frustration with the releases of the songs/announcements. they seem very sporadic and unorganized to me. messy, and not in the fun way. wildest dreams tv was released because a tik tok trend, this was released because of who knows what. 1989 tv was hinted at over a year ago and we still have no clue when it's coming. fearless tv was announced 2 months before release and was released with no promo but some singles beforehand (you all over me & mr perfectly fine), but red tv was announced a whole 5 months beforehand and had no singles but lots of promo when it came out. it all feels very spontaneous but also (dare i say) disorganized and lackluster? which is something we are not use to from her. even the cover art for all the re-records are just photos from old photoshoots that were just taken in her backyard... it all feels very underwhelming especially for something as big and important as her re-recordings.

But I think you hit the nail on the head - all the 1989 hints we were getting, even before Red TV, and the random songs being dropped, it’s just not what we are used to from her when she is such a perfectionist. It just raises some questions, but whatever she wants to do is ok. I would love her to communicate what’s going on behind the scenes for her and all of this!
‘This Love’ is released because of the ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ trailer released yesterday I think? Jenny Han is the author of ‘To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ trilogy and she also wrote this which is adapted to a new tv show on amazon prime, and ‘This Love’ is used for the trailer since Jenny said she wanted a Taylor song for it. It was very unexpected and random for Taylor to release but I wasn’t sure if you were aware of the reason 😅
@@chatsandreacts yess!! i thought more about this after i originally commented and that's what i thought too, communication is what's missing and what's needed. the whole fandom is just swimming aimlessly and once and awhile we'll get a random song that feels like 'okay! we're going somewhere!' but then it turns out to be nothing and we're just exactly where we left off. it's very strange and, like we both said, not something we are used to from her. everything has always felt like it had a clear direction and she had it planned out, this feels like she doesn't really have a plan and is just doing whatever she wants. obviously i agree as well with what you said, she has every right to do what she wants but, no matter what it is, it should still feel organized and like a big deal, and this just doesn't. i would love for her to just post a notes app or tweet what her plans are. like 'still working on re-recordings, one will be with you soon. in the meantime here's this love' or something just to give direction and give us a sense that she has a plan.
I think you need to understand that there are a lot of legal issues messing with the re-releases. Both 1989 and Speak Now are faced with them, which are the two everyone is expecting next. It's also clear that two of her main producers - Nathan Chapman and Max Martin - will not be on the re-recordings, causing another set of challenges. Taylor is doing something completely unprecedented here. No one has ever re-recorded at this scale. It's uncharted territory. She has to toe the line of making the re-recordings successful, while also battling over exposure. I don't understand why it's so hard to extend her some grace and understanding here here. It's A LOT of work and is likely holding her back from the creative stride she hit with folkmore.

I think maybe we'll get both Speak Now and 1989 this summer but not on the same day. 1989 is just a very summery album so it makes sense to drop it in the summer. July 9th has kind of been a thing to celebrate for years, so maybe that could be a potential date for Speak Now. Idk, it'd be cool to get something special for July 9th. Either way, I think we'll get both soon. It doesn't make sense for her to drop merch for 2 albums and call it "the old Taylor" collection, cuz "The Old Taylor" encompasses more than just those two albums, so it has to be intentional for her to only do merch for those 2 albums.
Omg the reaction to the cover art being some recycled photo it’s so real, 1989 is a BIG deal for her and the aesthetic of it with the polaroids was sooo iconic for it’s time I know she can’t just put some promotional pic in the cover art. That was kinda dissapointing but I did love sm the song it sounds so crispy and dreamy at the same time

Has anyone else noticed that This Love now sounds like a metaphor for her losing and regaining ownership of her music? I think it has a second meaning now, ‘this love’ being her love for her old albums. She had to let it go free against her will, but she found a way for it come back to her.

the re-recorded version is very similar to the original but i noticed that the re-recording sounds so much fuller and almost smoother. i love it so much it’s so good 💕
looking back at this, i think maybe she released this love since it was the first song she wrote for 1989 coming off the red era... and since she was still in her red era when she dropped this love, maybe it had something to do with that???
