One of the reasons why I like one piece is because characters and islands aren't just thrown away after their arc. They are still relevant to the story and that makes it different from many other anime. Even Buggy and Vivi is still part of the story.
Yeah I wish there was more connection between the island arcs though, especially the first. The story is too much the “villain of the island” imo

@@husk2853 Naruto came out around the same time and didn't went through the same problems. There was also HXH, Bleach, KHR, Full metal Alchemist, and many gems. At the beginning it was good, but now it's kind of dragging. Hell, the way Lilith was defeated was disappointing

What I appretiate in Demon Slayer is that even tho Tanjiro seems like the goody two shoe protagonist, he's never tried to befriend a demon despite recognizing many of the demon he's fought have had tragic backstories. He literally sees himself and Nezuko on Gyutaro and Daki in S2 but he still never goes "We are the same! Let's not fight!" he knows what needs to be done, he knows no matter what these demons went through they can't be forgiven for killing people, but he will show them respect upon their death. Most other shonen protagonist would try and find a cure for every demon in the series and be friends with them *cough* Emma *cough* *cough* Naruto *cough* .
Yeah pretty much. People like calling tanjiro “generic” (they use the word for anyone) but to me, being a good person that perseveres isn’t as bad as they make it out to be. He’s still has his own separate character and I don’t know how anyone would compare him to goku (another character everyone seemingly calls generic).
If both characters aren’t remotely the same, but are also seen as “generic” then what does generic even mean?
@@Blockoumi Yeah that argument is super dumb like Tanjirou's goal isn't to become the strongest and eat a lot, I don't know what ppl want they are just hating for the sake of hating DS and it's pretty cringe.
that's because it's impossible to befriend demons. Don't just skip ALL that context and jump to conclusions.
Naruto sees hope for Gaara because HE knows *personally just what Gaara had to go through first hand and found an answer that works. They are both the same in a world that sees them differently
Tanjiro doesn't know what demons had to deal with for decades after Muzan basically ENSLAVED them. Realistically, they all have SOME good in them but they have no will to choose. Muzan says lick my boots, you bet they are doing it, and so Tanjiro who knows this fact about demons can only say "sorry" and then kill them since you can't save them nor capture them alive(Muzan's blood would kill them).
Like I said, the context is VERY different in other such shonen, usually, because most villains/antagonist that appear in every arc make their own choices based on ideals that clash with the protagonist, which makes it *personal therefore causing them to try and convince he other side to see things clearer. Demon number 1 is no different from demon number 2 in demon slayer, they HAD ideals and convictions once upon a time but now they only have ideals yet operate on the convictions of their god. This is what makes the story generic, like many people say it is, and being generic doesn't make it bad since it's done right, It simply doesn't make it comparable to other non-generic series besides the main cast role types(the "-deres", the rivals, the big bad villain, the teams and groups , etc) fights and power levels.
So you are right, but for wrong reasons.
@@revenantronin8377 Bro I wasn't dissing Naruto, I actually think his talk no justsu worked really well with Zabuza, and Gaara was just a kid so it's obvious he just needed someone to help him out, and I do think Naruto is a better protagonist than Tanjirou despite some problems Naruto has. What I'm saying is it's nice for once that the protagonist doesn't shy away from killing and go the "talk route", if the author had wanted it it could have totally gone the Promised Neverland route where Tanjirou just chooses to not kill any deamons and has Tamayo prepare a cure for ALL of them, but it doesn't and that's why I like it.
I also disagree with your argument that there is no difference between demons essentially cause there is. Every Demon DOES actually make their own choices, like how RUi choose to kill his parents due to his anger and not understanding they where doing it out of love, Gyutaro CHOSE to murder and lash out against the samurai and the woman because he was sick of the mistreatment (this is actually why he's the one who was presented with hell and in demon form since he had killed ppl wheras Ume was forced to become a demon so she was shown in human form and could have gone to heaven), don't know if you read the manga but the rest of the upper moons also follow this pattern they usually throw their humanity away by their own choices.
@@revenantronin8377 If you where curious the reason I think the talk no jutsu works with Zabuza in particular is because I believe it was obvious from the start that Zabuza cared for Haku, he just din't want to admit it because he had grown up with this idea that he had to be this emotionless killer. All the "Haku was just a tool for me. I only took him in cause he was strong." Was really just him trying to continuously deny his true feelings, Naruto's words only made him reach his breaking point where he couldn't pretend to not care anymore, Naruto did not change his philosophy on his own entirely. With Nagato and Obito I personally believe this element is not there, I know why Kishimoto went with the Talk no Jutsu path, Pain's arc is about the cycle of pain, if Naruto HAD killed Nagato it would have been the opposite of what the arc was about since Naruto just like Nagato would kill his enemy, I just personally think it happened too fast and wasn't executed properly. Like I don't see how Nagato could kill his literal father figure the man who saved him from war without batting an eye but he'll change his entire outlook on life by just meeting Naruto? I think there should have been more seeds planted for Nagato, like have him actually cry over Jiraya too, or have him actually kill most konoha citizens this way he can actually see his philosophy over the cycle of pain is wrong and will not lead to peace. Really I just htink it wasn't executed properly, same with Obito.

24:27 Actually the tournament was zeno's idea but goku just reminded him about plus the zeno's used the tournament as a way to erase the universes with low mortal levels which he was already gonna do until goku reminded him about the tournament and then afterwards it was stated that the prize of the super dragon balls was a test to see if the winner would make a selfish wish and if they did the omni king was going to erase them and their whole universe so goku doing that actually gave them a chance at survival

@@aj3706 ya he gave cell a senzu bean, tho that was a bad idea actually it turned out great cause if he didn't had given cell a senzu bean Gohan wouldn't have been able to unleash his full potential and then cell after getting oliberated (not completely due to that reason) would have come back stronger so much strong Gohan would have died without unleashing his full potential, though Goku didn't think that much but it turned out great.
Once one piece ends i would love to watch a re-adapted version of it like what “full metal alchemist brotherhood” did! Just to trim down on filler, incorporate better animation
If you want to watch one piece faster I think there's something called one pace. It trims out most of the drawn out parts in episodes.
Yeah we need a real adaptation of the One Piece manga so we can see moments like Whitebeard getting half his face blown off and way better pacing

Yeah, there are no bad arcs in demon slayer. Even the last arc wasn’t bad, just the build up that was rushed. Still, every arc was entertaining and seeing how the studio keeps using their game, the next arcs are going blow everyone out of the water yet again

Personally, anime and manga, I think fights would go to demon slayer. BUT, plot and characters carry hard and demon slayer characters are hard to get attached to. Looking at how much people Stan mha characters, it’s safe to say they did a pretty good job with them. I think mha should win but I was more entertained reading demon slayer.

Shonen Showdown I want to ask you something. I tried to get one of my friends to watched One Piece. They agreed to watch it but they didn't like it. They said they drop the anime after they got around 60 episodes and they said it was boring and the at the same time season 2 demon slayer released so they felt more enticed to watch that (naturally because that season was goated).
On top of that they said the didn't fell motivated to watch it anymore because of the length of the series. Also, they told me their rule of thumb about anime "if the anime isn't able to get me interested in the first 12 episodes I'll drop it" they told me the only reason they watched for so long is because of me. Do you think these valid reasons to drop the One Piece?

At 20:17 neither of you mentioned the fact that the anime for TYBW is going to be:
1)Straight fire
2)No filler
3)The original ending for TYBW was negatively impacted by the health of Tite Kubo, which made it come out rushed and not completely fleshed out. After the trailer for the last season of Bleach dropped at Jump Festa 2022, Kubo has gone on the record saying that there will be extra scenes in the anime(which he is overseeing the story of) to flesh out the arc in its entirety. So, in a once-in-a-lifetime event, an anime will be almost unquestionably better than the manga that it's based off of.
The anime will hopefully do justice

@@fajinbry4736 I did watch the fight online but without context so it might’ve sullied my view. I still think MHA fights are really good but the sense of struggle and danger in demon slayer fights are EXTREMELY well done. The way every demon overpowers everyone but they can still win in a fair way (not asspull-ish). Most battles are team battles with amazing choreography and high stakes. You know the good guy will win but not the how.
One piece, my favorite manga, great fights, I still think demon slayer fights are better, manga and anime.
Jojo, the series with the best fights imo, I think demon slayer is pretty close and outright better than certain fights (like the tomb of the boom fight from part 7)
So far, from what I’ve watched of my hero fights, i would say they’re great but If i had to rank, it would be

He is incredibly stupid ( took him multiple seasons to find out he can use ofa to kick), he has no back bone, (never held Bakugo accountable for his blatant bullying even tho he wants to be a hero.) And everything in the manga just makes him more disappointing. he couldn't even speak for himself when he returned to U.A, Urakaka had to do it for him. All might's words Lit flames in people's hearts. how is he gonna succeed All Might when he can't even confront a crowd of people himself? All might is the symbol of peace while Deku is the symbol of Disappointment. Mirio should've gotten ofa, that man punched Overhaul when he didn't even have a qurik. that's a real hero. Tanjiro is a Giga chad compared to Deku.
@@revengearena4055 I don’t like either of the characters, but if I had to pick one, I’d choose deku since he’s atleast more different from the typical shounen mc troupe (he still is one) than tanjiro. Tanjiro is more like able as a character but dekus character is more flawed which makes him more unique whether you see that as a bad or good thing, it’s up to you.

If the animation studio somehow makes the final episodes of the thousand year blood war closer to what kubo was trying to make it the thousand year blood war would easily be the best ark out of all of the big 3
You have to remember that Marineford still sits as the best ark out of the Big 3, not disrespecting the TYBW and how it can match with Marineford, but Marineford is the best so far due to how influential it was for the story of One Piece

@chris larry To be honest I haven't watched the much of one piece, I'm only on ep 130. Compared to goku and Naruto they have some martial arts skills. Luffy and only stretch or make his body/libs big.

In terms of hardest goal, it's got to be Light Yagami's, because it's literally impossible (or at the very least, short-term). You can't stop crime by killing all criminals, because there will always be criminals. He's not fixing the system, he's just acting like prison+
Yea but also Light isn’t consistent at some point his goal changes from just wanting to save the world to becoming the “God” who rules above all. He enjoys killing so much it became obsession
So i wouldn’t really count light in same merit as the other characters.

I mean, kinda makes sense, because One Piece fans certanty of One Piece being the GOAT, it would clash with people that didnt watch it/ tried but didnt get past the first few slow episode/ didnt like it. No matter how good an anime is, some people will not like it, and the more love something gets, the more hate is likely to get as well. Take it as a sign of how big one piece is.

Luffy to me had one of the best transformations. He actually used his brain to understand how rubber works and how he could use the properties of rubber to his advantage compared to naruto who just walked up to one of the most powerful in Naruto and just asked him for power, but it’s changing cause now the will of a certain someone is awakening in him

Ayo rob, about the transformations debate, I agree Luffy is arguably the best when looking at it from a narrative perspective, however today I learnt about something that's absolutely crazy, Ultra instinct, Goku's endgame transformation, was foreshadowed as early as OG Dragonball, which is crazy because once you think about it, put the pieces of the puzzle together and look at his fighting styles' progression throughout the series along with his character development, it all makes sense.
You do know Luffy's transformations and whole arcs have been planned simply from the first 150 ep aswell?
@@senorquack5182 yeah, but the reason finding out about UI being foreshadowed In og dB and DBZ is shocking, is because it hits like a deja VU for me, it's really hard to explain with words.
It was not foreshadowed, it just used similar concepts that were already introduced, so its really more of a callback. Saying that is foreshadowed is absurd, since would be saying that UI was planned back in og DB, which of course was not.

For me the hardest goal would be Goku blacks/zamasus Mans wanted to wipe out all mortals From 11UNIVERSES and had Zeno someone who could just erase him if he slipped up.
Alright, time to point my glasses up and make them shine white like in an anime, because here's what I think about a few of these:
2. Ain't no way Hinata losing to Zenitsu like that. The Byakugan could literally see long distances and (correct me if I'm wrong) I do think it might Amp her reaction time. Not only that, but she can be comparable to characters like Sakura (when she's actually doing something). And Neji dying from a stick... THE STICK THAT KILLED NEJI COULD PROBABLY SOLO THE DEMON SLAYER VERSE IF IT WAS FLUNG AT SOMEONE!! All it takes is a trip on that stick and Zenitsu's dead. Besides, Neji can be comparable to Hinata and Rock Lee. Zenitsu isn't beating them (also, the stick thing was a joke. Please don't take it seriously).
2. I'd choose My Hero Academia over Demon Slayer any day. The characters are more relatable and Deku reminds me of Spider-Man, whose my 2nd favorite superhero (Iron Man's number 1). Not only that, but people who talk about it to me a lot while I barely knew anything about it kinda made me like it a lot less. I'm not saying it was ruined for me, but still. And I'm kinda on the side that says "Season 6 is gonna be live and there's no doubt about it." Also, with Jujutsu Kaisen, I like it a lot, but I'm still picking My Hero Academia over it too. No offense towards JJK, but it's not up there for me yet. I mean, JJK 0 is coming out soon, so that'll be cool, but still.
3. Dragon Ball is the most influential anime in my opinion, and Pokémon is a close second. But I think Naruto should be up there too (and maybe One Piece), because as far as I know, DB and Pokémon may have started the trend across the world, but Naruto kept it going and showed just how good anime could get. Now I'm not saying other anime didn't do that too, because they definitely did (Bleach, Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, Cowboy Bebop, Jo Jo, etc.), but I know more people who know and like Naruto more than the others (RDCWorld1 brings it up every time they talk about anime, and they talk about anime A LOT).
4. Goku actually wants to fight to better himself. Mostly physically, but he does learn more about people through fighting too (Jiren, Krillin, Gohan, etc.). He doesn't fight just because he wants to and that's just that.

The manga for my hero and jujutsu kaisen is just so good. My hero manga is insane rn jjk got the hypest arc coming up. For me MHA s6 and JJK shibuya arc more hype than s3 of demon slayer but then again ufotable is gonna surpass my expectations and make it a spectacle

For starters, perfect cell isn’t overwhelming more powerful than naruto. He’s just faster. The power gap isn’t huge especially not with prime naruto. Also about zenitsu and naruto. Hinata is faster than zenitsu. Zenitsu is roughly as fast as part one sasuke at godlike speed. And hinata is faster than that in shippuden. Same thing goes for kiba and neji
Also neji didn’t just die to wood. He dies to ten tails super wood spikes. Those would have killed part one kakashi.
