As a fan of naruto growing up, we need to stop disrespecting dragon ball. It's the OG, and it's power system is waaaaay beyond anything the strongest character of naruto can do

Ok, but he is kind of right, Tons of moments in DB will *never* have the same impact as Naruto ones. And thats because they reverse deaths in DB so much. The feeling of a loved character dying, or not knowing if they will die and you're nervously waiting for the next episode to see if they live. That isnt something that happens in DB, they have the dragon balls so you never truly go "I hope no one dies in this very dangerous Arc". The entire tournament of power didnt have the same amount of weight either. Like, sure the fights are cool, but in terms of how tense the moments felt it wasnt there. Because even after Zeno killed all the other universes, they once again brought everyone back. Character deaths dont have any weight cause of things like that.
But this is just how I view it and you probably see it a different way entirely.

Even Kishimoto and Ikemoto loves DB. And took inspiration from it. DB is the reason why anime is worldwide, and also the reason why studios put so much effort in making it.

Alright so there's something I need to say about this.
Yes, Goku really doesn't develop much throughout the show. But that's the point. Goku isn't written as a character that develops that's not the role he has in Dragonball. Goku is a Character that pushes others around him to improve. He already has the correct mindset, he already is pure of heart and heroic. Goku is the kind of Character that makes everyone else around him realise their mistakes, realise their flaws, realise the lies they live by. He has done this to almost every single Z fighter and even to a lot of characters that aren't part of the main cast. The kind of character trope Goku occupies isn't one that develops much, it's one that makes others develop.

Luffy is the same character from the beginning of the series. Hee hasn't changed. But that doesn't mean he has no character development.
Character development doesn't mean a character has to change. People need to get their definitions right.
Character development means that the character is fleshed out in the story so that we understand them properly. We understand their history, their motivations, the decisions they make and their personalities. That is character development. If you understand the character well, that character has been developed, whether he changes or not.
A character doesn't need to change to be a developed character. Goku not changing doesn't mean he had no character development. Properly understanding Goku means he has had character development

For a time, maybe I would've agreed with you about Apoo playing better music than Brook especially with what we're seeing in Wano, but aside from the fact that Brook's back story (specifically the Bink's Sake portion) touched my soul, I had a whole new appreciation for him after seeing Soul King in WCI. That ability is disgustingly cool to me. Especially considering we never even saw it box. Perhaps it only works on souls and wouldn't have any combat usage, but we saw him use it on fodder in fishman island, and considering Soul King is a step above that my headcanon is that his soul is so strong it manifests a physical form. I haven't forgotten that we're not power scaling here, we're talking about who we think is a better musician, and frankly I think my point stands. Brook is literally touching souls and Apoo has only given me some neat grooves.

2:20 Luffy can use the Leo Bazooka which has a very similar pose to Goku when using the Kamehameha.
But on the contrary to Naruto and Goku he wouldn't throw this Rasen Shuriken or this Kamehameha and let the energy do all the work, he would literally use it point blank and thrust this ball of energy into his enemy's body and his Ryuo (even though it's technically even better than Ryuo) would even help him get past his enemy's defense/durability.
And, unlike Naruto, Luffy wouldn't have a problem to use the Rasen Shuriken this way because the tiny needles wouldn't get past his armament haki.
Luffy could even use his Leo Rex Bazooka that he used in Film Gold against Grand Tesoro to make it even better.
Or just use gear 5 and hit him with giant hit

9:10 There is a huge difference between reanimation jutsu and dragon ball revival. Naruto had a problem with not letting characters stay dead, like with Might Guy. Might Guy should've died in the war, him being brought back ruined the whole point of him going into the 8th gate. With reanimation, they aren't even brought back permanently. You still have the loss, and the emotional value in their death stays. With dragon ball, any good guy that dies, will just come back. Vegeta had that whole moment but obviously he'd get brought back with the dragon balls. Dragon balls ruin all death, but Naruto can have deaths that stay and have meaning. All in all, Naruto has a similar problem on a much smaller scale, but you used the wrong point to put that across.
That’s a good point actually. I mean I brought it up because even if a reanimated character is not fully alive, the fact that they can be reanimated makes it feel like it’s not the end forever. But yes, DBZ does it on a much higher scale for sure
Yeah and there’s a plot hole, shenrons rule is that he can’t bring someone back from the dead twice… the amount of times one city got all of their civilians killed and brought back, surely some of those cities got brought back more than twice

Also gokus character development is insane, he went from a low class saiyan sent to earth to annihilate it to basically the son of grandpa gohan, who he ended up killing and didn’t even realise he did it until he saw another saiyan go ape. he never accepted raditz as his brother but then on namek he decide to fight for the people of namek and to avenge all the saiyans and vegetas pride. even in the buu saga he spared fat buu because he wanted the younger generation to have a chance to defend earth so he knew they’d be okay if he left (keep in mind this goku is a saiyan, that’s literally against his BIOLOGY) so people that hate on gokus development clearly didn’t watch the show. also nice vid as always bro

The fact that sonic has hyper which is Infinite speed beyond since super sonic is infinite speed shows he can wash any universe unless it's like gag manga or something.
Super Sonic in game canon has faced a god that erased the concept of time and space and beat it with minimal effort and a little help. Game canon Sonic, by far the weakest Sonic, is able to deal with a Zen-oh level threat minus the erasure. Archie Sonic can REWRITE THE UNIVERSE FROM BEGINNING TO END WITH ONE ACTION, A ZEN-OH LEVEL ACTION. Goku and Sonic would most likely have a very heated and close fight and Sonic solos everything under dragon ball levels of power.

Agreed with everything he said until he said DBZ fights are more impactful than Naruto. That's wrong. Every Naruto fight has some sort of meaning that we nearly always see down the line, while DBZ can sometimes just shove fights in our face because that's what the people want to see and a lot of the time there is no actual affect on the story unless it's a really major fight. DBZ is awesome, but that's just my take.
I respect it for sure! I mean Naruto fights are definitely impactful as well, no doubt but I also think every fight in the majin buu arc and Frieza arcs were impactful tbh

In his base form he collected one billion rings and each ring has a bit of chaos energy inbued within them (Chaos energy is what makes super sonic and hyper sonic a thing) and the literal God of the sonic verse said the best way to kill him is for him to die of old age because he's literally that strong... And since he has so many rings, he can pop super sonic and hyper sonic at any given time Although for Ultra Sonic he needs a crap ton of rings (It was never specified how many he needs) He also can pop super and hyper sonic with the chaos emeralds and super emeralds too if he want's to save the rings he has for Ultra Sonic.. In his Ultra Sonic form he destroyed the universe and recreated it in like 5 to 10 mins and in base form he traveled the entirety of the multiversal highway in a day
I hate how people bring up dragon ball Z’s pacing when the manga and Dragon ball Kai exist. Kai has no pacing problems and it removes ALL of the useless filler. Also regarding goku’s character development I do hope people know that there’s something called the OG dragon ball. I hate how people ignore the development of characters like Yamaha, Tien, Piccolo and Goku. Goku was literally isolated for years until he met Bulma and the squad. He also wasn’t even that interested in martial arts until Roshi was introduced and showed Goku a different world regarding martial arts. Also Goku losing to Roshi in the tournament was extremely important to his character and due to this loss Goku was alot less cocky and worked harder to eventually surpass his master. Also Goku learning about his Saiyan nature from Raditz and finally accepting it in his battle against Frieza is also a great example of Goku developing. Goku repeatedly denied and rejected his saiyan nature and him finally accepting it helps him progress and develop as a character. People who say Goku has no character development are literally casuals who didn’t even watch the show

People are way too obsessed with their own definition of character development. It’s like the ppl who hate on luffy saying he doesn’t have character development. Just because you maintain your overall personality does NOT make you a bad character or mean you have no character development that’s just absurd. Naruto had such drastic character development because he desperately needed to mature and rethink his priorities, and in his context it’s important. Every character doesn’t need to do a 180.
