  • Oceans across the world are all different and unique in their own ways, but there is one part of the Ocean that has something completely incredible. The Belize Blue Hole is a massive, 980 foot wide Blue Hole formed over 10,000 years ago. Throughout the video, I explain how these holes form and what will happen to them in the future.
On my channel, I make entertaining explainer videos on topics I think my audience would enjoy. If you enjoyed the video, be sure to subscribe for content like this every week. Thanks for watching!

Great video, but how could you mangle the name of the famous explorer Jacques Cousteau so badly?
Surely he's not the first Jacques you have encountered. So you must be aware that that given name is pronounced "zhahk", with one syllable.
    The surname is pronounced "coo-STO".

Glad you enjoyed the video, sorry I mispronounced his name. This was my first video and I should have done better research regarding the pronunciation of his name.

Jaques is not pronounced "Zak", it's pronounced "Jack".
      Cousteau is indeed "coo-STO".

@@abadyr_ - I did not write "zak". I wrote "zhahk".
The combination "zh" represents the French J, the sound found in the English words "pleasure" and "measure".
And the "combination "ah" represents the vowel in "father".
So the pronunciation of "Jacques" is indeed "zhahk". It is not "Jack", which has the wrong initial consonant and the wrong vowel.

Very cool. You might want to listen to others before you pronounce languages and famous names you are not familiar with (French, Jacques Cousteau). You kinda butchered his name and he's pretty famous ;-/
