I don't think it is safe right now and I am a little overdue for another eye exam - last time I saw the eye surgeon he told me I wasn't ready to have my cataracts removed yet. The surgeon's office is always packed with 20 or 30 patients and the exam lasts over 30 minutes with 5 or 6 people coming in and giving you tests - it's up close and personal and I am not sure it's safe right now so I'm moving my appointment again to October 2020. We'll see what happens.

My Ophthalmologist required that I not only have a COVID-19 test prior to my cataract surgery, but to also self-quantine for the time betw the COVID-19 test and the surgery. That would of been 7 days for me. I canceled the surgery stating that there was no way that I, as a single person, was going to stay home for seven days (& x2 for both eyes in 30 days). This is elective surgery and, as of this writing (Dec-2020), the vaccine is right around the corner. As a 70 y/o I'll have access to the vaccine within 2021 and I'll reschedule shortly.
