Now that I used it for some time, I can say that the EDP is my favourite in the line: fresh, dense and deeply aromatic with the strong sage note. More mature than Profondo, but I agree you don't need both. More versatile than Profumo. As a fresh fragrance it lasts quite good on my skin, while Profumo (magnetic cap) doesn't perform that much on me, but it is still my #2 in the line. In my opinion this is a great release, and I will use this fragrance quite often. Age: 30+

I’ve been wearing the original ARMANI ‘eau pour homme’ since its release in 1984. I never liked Acqua di Gio’ (1996) - and I’m not familiar with any of its flankers - but something tells me I might like the new EdP. Thanks for the great and very informative review! 👍
That was my favourite too, still is. Hate that it's discontinued, and there's nothing else out there like the armani eau pour homme. Aqua dg was considered cheap and low quality by comparison at the time.
The Best of the line is Acqua Di Gio Profumo, it last and a Compliment getter, can be worn in any scenario, Profundo smells like hair gel, and a strictly summer fragrance didn't like it.
Have profondo, profumo and the edp. I think the EDP fits perfectly in the middle, less salty/sharp and warmer than profondo but not as dark/ earthy as profumo. Most versatile in my opinion, yes slightly less performance than the other two
I absolutely love this fragrance! I really didn’t think I would like it as much as I do. It’s been my go to for almost everything ( work, out of the shower, running errands etc ) the newer YSL l’homme EDP is also nice in my opinion

Never tried assenza. Yeah I do like profondo and own a bottle. Wasn’t a fan of the profondo lights tho. And I like the absolu as well. But not a fan of absolu instinct lol But I love the new edp and Profumo! Those are my top 2. Jus my opinion.
I feel you on this review. I only wore it twice. At first, I thought it smelled exactly like Profondo, which was disappointing. Then, it starts to separate itself and does it own thing. I think it’s a good release from the house. However, if you have Profondo and Essenza, this may be a redundant buy.
I still own essenza and honestly off my skin it does not smell like it at all , essenza on my skin is extremely metallic and aldyhic where this fragrance right off the back it's profoundo but a little sweeter" my honest opinion if you already own it there's no need for this one
If it smells like Essenza then I’m definately going to get it. I was so bummed out they discontinued it. I’ve gotten so many compliments from girls and they’d literally kept smelling my neck and clothes. No jokes. The drydown just smells so good. I still have half a bottle of Essenza left and will only wear it on date nights. Otherwise I wear Bleu de Chanel which doesn’t get me much compliments but still smells alright. (It was an impulse buy)

Then you will like this, basically a mixture of H24 (floral, Clary Sage + mineral notes) and the OG ADG; Less sweet and different floral (lavender/geranium instead of narcissi (daffodil). Like H24 very safe, modern, office scent. Day, spring and summer. After 3+ weeks of wear it's a ghost scent on me for my nose but others can smell it. Would have rather picked up another bottle of profundo for the upcoming warmer season for casual wear.
Why would they name it something different? Makes no sense. You have a brand name mega well known. It should be close to the others I wouldn't expect anything too much different, the OG with a twist. I can see if you already have 4 flankers it's redundant. I held out on all aqua di gio's, this being edp Ima scoop it, hearing it's close to ezzenza Im all in love vetiverum.
I agree that this is pretty redundant and actually kind of weak on me, but with me fresh scents especially always take time to macerate and for my nose to get used to it. When I purchased a bottle of Creed Viking it was the weakest smelling stuff I had ever purchased. As time passed it got so much stronger and it is now nowhere near the weak version that it was when I first purchased it. And believe it or not, the exact same thing happened when I purchased a bottle of Hacivat. It was SO WEAK when I first bought it, but now it is almost too strong. I got a 4.2 of this new Acqua and again it is pretty weak IMO, but I’m going to hang onto it and let it sit and I’m confident the same thing will happen as many of my other bottles that I’ve purchased. Yes it does smell like just another spin on the original and isn’t different enough to warrant a purchase especially if you have several from the line already, but to me this one is different enough and I will absolutely get use out of it. It’s a great any-occasion scent that won’t offend anyone really, and while it does smell a lot like a spin on the original it has a spring time vibe to it that I like that will be enjoyable to wear now that spring time is here. Kudos to Armani for releasing this at just the right time. Someone said it’s like the original ADG mixed with a H24 vibe and I can def see that. I think it’s almost impossible to give a real opinion on a scent strictly off of first impression. The scent will most likely smell different to you from the first time smelling it to the second time smelling it and then again three months from now. The liquid matures, your nose matures, and many scents that I didn’t like from the first few times sniffing them I ultimately end up loving. I think time and patience are things that get often overlooked in this hobby.
@@utmost-F16 leave it in a dark temperature controlled environment, like a drawer or closet. Give it six months or so and see if it smells any stronger. I've heard that a lot of people who've bought dupes from Alexandria and Dua who weren't impressed by their initial smell left them in a drawer for six months and were amazed by the improvement.
Same thing happenes to me! Profondo did that for me. Didnt wear it for a couple months and wore it to work one day when it was 80 degrees out. So strong! Opened up like a completely different scent. So much stronger than when I first bought it. I'm really hoping my new parfum does the same thing. I even have an edt bottle that i got last year that is way strong now too. Maceration is real.
I mostly buy and wear niche fragrances now. I rarely reach for my designer fragrances anymore for the reason you mentioned. I want something different. I got overwhelmed and burned out on designer houses releasing so many flankers. Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage are good examples. Now with the release of Sauvage Elixir and it costing what you can purchase a niche fragrance for, I’d rather buy niche.
Darian: Do you think Acqua Di Gio is playing, a little, too safe with keeping the flankers-on top of-flankers concept? ( Feel free to share your thoughts )

I guess that is where the fragrance designer industry is at the moment, churning out of flankers with all new fragrances being few and far between. I bet they do have new fragrances stored and stashed somewhere ready for release though.
I love sweet smelling colognes that make heads turn and importantly I love them to last for a long time. Can you please recomend the ones that you know. Thanks .
Spray it on clothes and goes away within an hour... Very weak projection... Mainly smell lemon and citrus and just seems to fade away really quick. Versace Eros lasted all day at work when spraying it all over my clothes but this just seems to be the kind of scent that needs to be reapplied every hour or two
You've been way too kind on the opening man. It's bad. Sea notes, aquatic notes, call it how you want. It's almost like algae, dead fish. When it dries down a lil bit, only then the awful note looses its strength. Then it becomes enjoyable. But the opening, first 15-30 minutes? Hell no
@@shadyevenings I smelled them in Sephora and did not like the opening on the Armani but in 1 hour it got better, as for the Dior it was stronger I might get it.

I totally understand homie it does smell good but at the same time it’s not different. They not thinking out the box they stay mind staying in it. Also for you to spend $100 on a fragrance that smells almost exactly like your other flankers it’s disappointing.
I like this one. But the dry down gets a bit funky. Not sure why but it almost has a cannabis tone to it and the dry down off my skin. Even My Wife said the same thing. Ha

Acqua Di Gio Profumo, is still the best over all.

Absolu Instinct is a MUST if anybody reading likes traditional, mossy male fragrances and the ADG line.

Good video. I like AdG but didn't care for this flanker. That rindy grapefruit note with the patchouli smells like a sweaty gym bag to me.

Nothing new. Profumo was king before It was reformulated and Aqua Di Gio Pour Homme is old school classic.
