  • A room reviewer has left TikTok users horrified after sharing pictures of the “worst rental advertisement” that he’s ever seen in Dublin.
As the cost-of-living crisis continues, some people are opting for cheaper accommodation however, Adam Bruce, 31 has taken to TikTok to share the places that people should certainly avoid.
The room in question is a bedsit advertised for €100 a week - with one very big catch.
While you might reasonably expect to have your own bedroom, the new flatmate will be expected to share a tiny bedroom with the current resident as well as their two cats.
With just inches between the two single beds, you will be expected to sleep very closely to your new roomie.
And with no room for storage you will have no choice but to squeeze in between the piles of rubbish.
Images of the humble abode display an extremely cramped kitchen which offers no space for cooking as the hob area is completely covered in piles of Barry’s tea bags.
The advert reads: "I'm a very honest person living in a flat building.. I have an extra bed in the bedsit that I live in (THIS NOT A PRIVATE ROOM).
"I am looking for someone to share the room with me. You will have to live with me and my cats.
"I am a collector and I like to collect many things including books, stamps and coins. I’m looking for someone with similar interests but that is not necessary.
"It is a very good location near the city centre.
"Anyone who rents with me will need to understand that there are two cats living here and if you do not like cats this is not suitable.
"I am looking for someone on a week-to-week basis of €100 per week or per month €400. Very flexible you can move out anytime. There is no WiFI. I am friendly.
"Washing machine and dryer available can be done by myself each week for a fee if you want. Also, if I go away, you will be expected to look after the cats. Students preferred."
“This is definitely the weirdest one I've seen (so far), however I fear another will top it soon enough,” Adam, an operations coordinator from Ayr, Scotland, told NeedToKnow.online of the bizarre ad.
“The sheer amount of clutter and lack of space shocked me most.
“Not to mention the fact the person advertising it still wanted someone to move in - it’s not even a room, it’s just a bedsit!
“I felt awful when I came across this advert. This is the stage we are at now in Dublin that rooms like this are being advertised and the sad thing is someone will take it because they're desperate.”
In a video that has accumulated over 884,500 views, Adam shared the very unusual advert and has even dubbed it ‘the worst Dublin rental advert ever’.
Viewers have been left shocked by the strange and specific advertisement, with one user commenting: “I await the Netflix documentary on the murder.”
“The very sad reality is, there will be people desperate enough to want to take him up on his offer,” wrote another concerned user
Someone else added: “Even the cat looks like it would rather not be there”
“The expression ‘you can’t swing a cat in there’ comes to mind but looks like you can swing two,” joked another user.
“Couldn’t pay me to live there,” added another person.
“Sounds like a prison sentence,” added one user.
