"Not that I'm one to spread gossip, BUT...". My first AA Sponsor cured me of gossip by having me go to everyone I'd ever gossiped about, telling them what I said about them, and humbly asking their forgiveness. I've been cured for 24 years - it worked. *I almost always read the comments before or during a video, and I was looking forward to watching this because of them. The house does have a cold, sterile, timelesness about it. I was wondering if it happens - that one person in a house could experience a severe haunting, and the other person or people in the house didn't ever see or hear a thing, I don't recall ever paying attention to 'who' was getting haunted, but I don't think I've seen many that only one person is experiencing the haunting. Thank you, this was a great video, I appreciate it.
Excellent acting & story and no jump scares, loud music, sex and violence that most film relay on, it was like watching a film from days gne by Really enjoyed watching this. Off to find another I don't think I'll be disappointed
@susanhowarth6670 thank you. Really glad you enjoyed them. 😁 Children of Darkwood house isn't on my channel buts it's free to watch on another that hosts the film.
The 1940's (my grandparents were adults then, & died in the mid 1970's). The 1940's was a VERY restrained, snobby society. The servants knew their place as the middle class behaviour towards them ensured that. My mother was a servant ( I believe worse than some upper classes). It was a time of very very strict dress code & very restrained behaviour). Of course the war changed some of it. Am only telling you this 'cos filmmakers these days seem to think otherwise. HOWEVER, I enjoyed the film A LOT. I WANTED to watch until the end, which is testament to the acting, scripting etc etc. , AND the lighting was very good too. Thank you & good luck to all you did a sterling job. I'd imagine you had budget restraints. Good luck & look forward to more
@@paulinefriar6916 thank you really pleased you enjoyed this. Out of curiosity are you from UK or Us? A lot of stories I read from the UK with help were usually considered members of the family and respected a lot. I wanted to bring that across so Annabel felt like it was her home and not just a job.
The photo of the cult supposedly taken in 1865 was pretty funny. They didn't have the ability to take gotcha photos like that. And a servant telling her employer, "Now you're being ridiculous!" Pretty brave.
Enjoyable viewing. Does anyone know where this film was made, the outside library shot was the Long Eaton library, and the house looked like one of those houses near West Park, both in Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire, if anyone knows the area check it out.
Thanks for checking it out, I'm originally from Long Eaton, The library was indeed from there, the main house was in Nottingham near west bridgford but long gone now.
Getting scared at 44 min. I'll come back tomorrow. In the daylight!!! I do think you've done a fine job, indeed. It has me thinking of Elizabeth Bowen's "Demon Lover" short story. On steroids.
@@MrStitchfilms Well done though on this great storyline, very clever and with the background air raid sirens it enhanced the scariness. You did well on a very small budget amazing infact x❤
lol, at 1:24:46 the lead holds her wig in place as she puts her head on the pillow. And who keeps their dressing gown on, over their pyjamas, when they get into bed? Sorta sums up the whole movie really.
Would I be right in assuming that Patricia was actually dead, had been killed when a bomb struck in her street in London, and came back to her sister's house. Happy ending though for she found her sister again and in death they are reunited.

If the second scene is meant to be in late 1944 or early 45, the only bombs being used would have been doodle bugs. This bit isn’t right.
