She's very right about Fast 1 holding up. It's the best movie for sure. The other movies don't try to compete with 1 and go a different direction and that's a good thing although maybe I would have liked to see just one more semi-realistic and down to earth street racing movie like Fast 1.

I LOVED the 1st Fast & Furious, I still remember the fun I had with the huge group of friends that I saw it in the theater with, including my then girlfriend who sadly later passed in a car accident at just 17yrs old the following year. I had just gotten my 1st car when that film came out, it was a 1997 red Mitsubishi Eclipse which was a then popular car among street racers, and we were all into racing. I had a huge crush on Michelle Rodriguez and loved the dynamic between the group in the 1st film. So I was excited about the 2nd. Well, I don't remember anything about the 2nd one because i think I felt it was a letdown since it was missing a lot of the original cast and just not as interesting imo. I think i stopped watching them all together until a friend convinced me to come see one of them with him and pretty sure it was the one in 2009 that Michelle Rodriguez returned for ,and tbh she was the only reason I went to see it. I remember being bored to death during it and couldn't wait for it to be over so that pretty much was my last experience with a F&F movie! It had just derived too far from the feel of 1st film with too many dull action scenes and not much of a interesting plot other than Letty's "death " and afterwards I just lost complete interest in the franchise. But the 1st will always be a fave with the perfect amount of action and story. The chemistry between all the actors felt so authentic, as if these were real people. Jordana looks great and she's right about how crazy 20 years ago can sometimes feel so long ago and other times, it just feels like yesterday!
Young People from the 90s and early 2000s call it theaters but the younger generation call it "going to the movies". Yeah weird I know. How I found this out was through a conversation in 2017-2018 at a retail job.
