When I was a very young boy in the 60s our next door neighbors were super old, like 50 or 60. He was a truck driver and she was home. But she could fix things. She knew how to use tools. In the mind of 4 year old being raised by a single mother that was like meeting the Wizard of Oz. I thought of Mrs Crawford when I saw my first video of yours a couple days ago. Thanks for kindling a pleasant memory. I hope your family and significant other will always support your workshop journey.

Quick tip for anyone using a circle-cutting router jig - if you want to avoid the nail hole in the center of your piece, which in this case isn’t noticeable but sometimes does get a bit annoying, there are lots of options but the easiest I’ve found is to use CA glue on some painter’s tape to temporarily adhere a piece of any 3/8” or 1/2” level (yes, level is important unless you’re desperate to get a tilted circle) to the center of your target piece, nail into that, clamp the target piece down and go to town with your plunge router. It adds more depth to need to plunge but you can always take a pass with a pattern/flush-cut bit if you can’t plunge deep enough and it avoids a hole on either side if anyone’s ever going to be able to see it. That’s a beautiful cart and nice work with the patches on the tray walls. I’d probably just have scrapped them, honestly, without even bothering to try to fix it. Oops.

Tomar, Walnut is my favorite wood to work with and the cart's overall look is gorgeous! One of the reasons I love your channel so much is your not perfect, which is realistic. Your problem solving is one of your best qualities and the fact your not afraid to show your mistakes. I don't think you realize how important that is for those of us watching. Thank you for that!
I couldn't help but notice the cart with the dog holes and red metal legs. Is that an Armoire cart? You have some other goodies too like the Titan clamps and their router. Are companies starting to send you goodies?

I'm really impressed with how you patched that router issue. It's a little difficult to tell in the video, but you may have been routing "uphill", which just means the wood fibers ahead of the cut are unsupported and prone to grab and tear out. I learned this lesson myself recently, the hard way of course, using a flush-trim bit on some curved table legs.

Really nice build, Tamar. That was a pretty darn clever recovery jig for the tearout on the ring. Some nice tips in this video. You are very, very creative. I had the same kind of tearout when routing the side of a 2" thick Maple board a few weeks ago. One of those things that makes you both swear and cringe at the same time. Small tip for you - when using a pattern or flush trim bit, try to keep the waste to LESS than 20% of the diameter of the router bit - 10% would be even better. So, 1/2" diameter router bit, max of .100" of waste to cut off, less is better. That was my mistake also, even though I knew better.

Tamar...the RUclips algorithm turned me on to your channel 🤔. I'm glad it did 😁. I've enjoyed your content & look forward to additional projects. God bless you, your husband, children & extended family. I sympathize with your workshop scenario in regards to the lack of climate controlled work space. I also have a detached garage in the midwest. Nonetheless...You've provided excellent quality videos..keep up the great work!!!
P.S. I love that you're encouraging your children to participate in assiting with your projects & videos 🙏☝

Okay Tamar, got my brother in town we took on the “Dowel challenge” lol . I was smart (I Think) we did beer shots 39 of them and 7 16 oz beers later. Good times. And now he wants to build the cart. So tomorrow looks like we will begin. Great video, great project. Thanks. Cheers!
