- Porsche Macan is not just the most popular Porsche, it's also a car which over delivers - in just about every department.
It has always been able to hammer down a twisting road at speeds most drivers will never have the nerve or the skill to test,
It will stomp further off road than the majority of owners will ever ask, and it will seat five grown ups in comfort while hauling a mountain of family essentials in the boot.
And so having already received one mid life facelift just a couple of years ago, how can this 2021 upgrade of Porsches already class leading SUV impress us even more?

I’ve had 5 Porsches including a 2017 Macan S. I’ve just placed an order for the new 2022 Macan GTS. Have to wait 12-18 months though for delivery. My current Porsche is the new 992 911S. I prefer the Macan it’s a better motorway car and loads more comfortable. The 911 S is fast but uncomfortable over a long journey ie 2 hours pus.

I’m soon to take delivery of a GTS, but I was disappointed to hear that the release of PCM 6.0 is not included / compatible with the new Macan.
I would have hoped that with this being the last ICE Macan they will build, it would have the most up to date entertainment system.

Yeah i was just about to make an order for a gts aswell and found out no pcm 6 and not even Android auto, if they atleast had android auto i would have already placed my order.
I would also like it if they made a hybrid version, instead of going fully electric. They already have the technology from the WEC LMP1 cars the 919 hybrid

Last year I bought a 2015 Macan Turbo off my friend as we needed a 3rd vehicle due to Covid plate restrictions where I live and my wife can't drive my Ram 2500 HD with a 3.25" lift on 35" tires. Goes without saying the Macan Turbo is a dream on the road but this past weekend due to plate restrictions I was forced to take the Macan on some pretty rough dirt and rock roads up in the mountains which also had some pretty steep and wet sections with limited traction and I admit I was nervous! Never would I have previously considered taking a Macan Turbo up into and area like that and would have always used my massive truck but much to my amazement, the Macan Turbo handled it brilliantly, even had to use the hill decent control in one section in conjunction with the off road mode which raises the suspension etc. It blew me away so much that the big truck is now for sale as plate restrictions ended today lol. I have no desire to go off roading in a Macan Turbo but knowing that it can do it and do it very well in a pinch to get me to and from when you end up getting surprised on that unforeseen stretch is astonishing for a vehicle that on the road surpasses most everything.

@@RogerBaileyOnCars So what turbo in there? Is it the is38 as in the GTI Clubsport/S and R's ? Or same as the standard GTI? Iv heard the new Mark 8 generation models are using a new brand & type of turbo however
@@tredfxman I think it would be the latest from the MK8 standard GTI. So smaller turbo than the CS. My channel has lots of reviews on the GTI Clubsports / MK8 Rs if you are interested 👍

I believe, at the beginning of the video, you state that it was originally introduced in 2003. I think that would've just been the Cayenne. Correct? I think the Macan is only 5-6 years old..

Would the advent of electric cars be the death knell for petrol cars regards spare parts.
I expect petrol cars to continue long after the 2035 EV deadlines, the two biggest car markets China & USA haven't even signed the agreement

You referred to electronic dampers, Roger. They’re not standard on 2-litre Macans like the one in the film. Did it have PASM as an option then?

Enjoyed your video Roger. Good to see some of my beloved roads back in Wales. Had a wonderful journey back to see my elderly father back in Mold, between lockdown, before Christmas last year in a Cayenne. Got my eye on a Macan here in Florence sometime in the future.

Why can't we have a more objective review of Porsche cars and SUVS, these youtubers always wanna sell us the car and want to make us believe is perfect, almost like Porsche salesman.
