It’s definitely coming along good! You’re doing great with this project! All the little hiccups along the way are simply part of the process. You and Jessica take care and keep up the great work!
Keep at it Mr P, great to see you making progress, as everyone else has said, good vendor standing by his products and seeing you right, it’s a small cost to him for the positive advertisement from your channel. Not long and you’ll have her rolling again. 😊
Great video James glad you were able to get done with removing the front diff housing and reassembly of the rear diff with new center chunk and axles. Looking forward to your next video stay safe James and Jessica.
That's cool they stood behind there part, I sure wish I lived closer I'd be there helping you out when you needed it I drive for a living but my passion is always been working on them. Remember if you ever need someone up in the north east Maryland to help you out I get ya. Your channel is awesome keep up the great work myfriend
It's good to hear that Jessica will get behind the wheel soon. When she needs to burn up some serious miles, she can thrown in the 8 track of trucking country all-time favorites, track #7 The Ballad of Shade KoGun.
Ole “Black Betty” is progressing well James.😉💪 One thing is for certain, you’ll know what you’ve got from front to back by the time you get “Black Betty” completed. (Motor work, frame & rear end, etc) Stay safe & we’ll be watching the next video sir.
Good job working on the truck, brother you will get it done your hard worker And a good mechanic keep up the good good work brother, safe travels on airplane captain
Slowly but surely i see some progress making on my favorite " Black Betty " i can't wait for it to be complete , thanks for the video james and i hope all is well .
Hi James, the first video I saw, was : Meet Trisha, more than 3 years ago. 😀 I have seen every second of your video’s. U are an awesome and good man. Like u , Jessica and your channel. And now I really look forward to see how Betty would look like. Always like that truck, cos it’s a Marmon. U dont see many of those. So I really look forward of this journey. Keep up the good work James. Have a nice weekend , u and your wife. 😀😀
James, that’s awesome. They took care of you on that bent housing👍👍👍 Those are the kind of vendors you like to deal with the ones that stand behind what they sell. Kind of rare these days unfortunately. Good job brother. You and Jessica have a great weekend.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Your right James what you said about "while I am still young". I retired in Jan of 2021 from a career of close to 40 years. I will be 66 in December. I wish I had done a lot more when I was young and could afford it both in health and money. But I had to make a living much like yourself. As much as you would like to you can't save all those orphan trucks. Keep the few you really love and sell the rest. It will take a lot of work and worry off you and give you time to do that stuff like road trips with your wife. The two weeks you have off work could be used to go road trippin instead of working on those trucks. Unless that is your stress reliever and if it is and I know it is then work on them. I am sure flying all over the world ain't the most stress free job a man can have. I have rambled on too long. All I am saying is do what you think is best for you and your wife. Enjoy your videos no matter what you are doing. A fan from middle Ga......
Hi James looks like Betty is coming along great! It’s good they took care of you on the rearend. Yes they are a good place to go so I’d try and spend my money there. They obviously want more business so they provide good service. Not sure on using ultra black silicone on those housings tho. Could’ve sworn they used grey on my rear end that had to be replaced. You are correct on U bolts should always replace them. Jessica is gonna have a nice ride when Betty is done! Stay safe
I was torn between ultra black and an anaerobic sealer. I asked my gear man he just said permatex so I went with it. Depending on how the ratio treats me they may come back out for a different set up some day.
Wow! Show a picture of the bent axle housing and they give you a replacement free of charge? That's awesome customer service! I remember back when Sears was still in business and their tool line was Craftsman. I broke some Craftsman sockets while tearing down the core engine for my rebuild project (Ford 400 for the 72 Gran Torino Sport I had back in the 80's). I'd take the broken socket back to Sears and the salesman didn't ask how it happened, just said to grab a new one off the shelf, it was a lifetime replacement warranty.
Hey brother I'm glad they took care of you on the housing I'm like you I like dealing with good honest people and I always do business with them as well keep up the good work on Betty she deserves it I think the plan for you and Jessica to travel to shows that way makes sense have a good one my friend can't wait to see what's next
@@JamesPrettyit’s because the modern society is afraid of a bit of good old honest hard work. It’s all just gimme gimmie gimme…I’m afraid probably most of who watch are those who would do it!
you need a SUNEX TOOLS 5120 for the axle nuts, they used to torque 750 ft lbs when they first came out, now its 500(with the cone spacer in it), and a True Temper 20187300 Back-Out Punch (or smaller pin)to push the ubolts thru the lower bracket, you forgot to verify your axles fit your diff side gear, gray silcone should be used on diffs, it has more elastic properties for torque,
How do you eat an elephant ?..... One Bite at a Time 😁 ABS ? 45,000lbs sitting on the drives & no front brakes .... was typical up here in the frozen north into the 90s
@@JamesPretty yea here in the north your front axle would lock long before your loaded drive & trailer tandems .. taking your steering control so they just didnt install steer axle brakes
Hey JP. Good show with the replacement Axle.--send it to Pakistan now, they will fix it n keep it, ha-- Fruition of ur Work on Trucks can also b the sale $$proceeds spend on a nice cruise with Jessika. U Both deserve it. What ratio is ur new Diffs?? U may have gotten a tall one for a 3rd axle app. as U plan.

Good morning
Morning brother
I can relate to that

Makes sense. You’re the second one to mention the grey. We may sway these out depending on how the ratio works out. Appreciate ya being here
I told u about my freightliner FLD I got it for 5 years but struggling for body parts I'm in Africa 😢
Thats just hard work right there. Did u find a place to bend your inners? I got a set done in Cromwell, Ct. They bent them as i waited!
Yes I did find a guy to do the rails. He brought over a test piece. Perfect fit. Now to bend the actual rails and put the holes in
Some have a bolt that is a drain for the hub before removal, my dad 2000 Peterbilt 379EXHD has that style
Rite on
Krystal sounds great
Thanks brother. She really does
My ds402 rear ends came with one bolt in each hub from the factory.
Interesting. Appreciate ya
Use the transmission jack
We fell over
