She's right I've used windows from past 7 years but when I need to install Android Studio on Windows first of all loading time was > 5 minutes and in Gradle build OMG,But now I'm using Zorin Os(Linux) and believe me I've core i5 1 gen laptop and and loading time is maximum 15 seconds of Android Studio, with background apps like Mozilla Firefox and Figma, and also addicted to music so VLC also,in short Linux is more and more better than windows for students.
Some important aspects of Linux. You can use Linux distros for older machines which is not supported Windows or MacOS. Linux is the most used OS in servers. Linux is the default king in the server world. From portable media player to supersonic jet uses Linux. Android is a linux variant which rules the smartphone. This also ousted and ended the Windows Mobile OS.
One suggestion for beginner Linux users is to don't run Linux as a root user unless you are a pro because one single command can corrupt your whole system.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux. yes it's a copypasta
One more reason to use Linux...even on a very old laptop Linux will work without any issues..I repeat again Linux on 6 year old laptop performance>>>>>>>>>> New Windows laptop 😂🤣🤣🤣
After u have 2-3 months of experience in Linux, afterwards pls try Garuda Linux.. it's is an Indian distro.. and believe me it is seriously awsm.. based on arch not Debian.. Am already using it from 3 years..

@@rishav6134 As @AlphaNode said difference of package manager apart from that here is some info: Arch is an independent distro built with a base install that users can customize to meet their needs. It is rolling-release, which means that new versions of applications become available as they are released by the developers {But the newer versions of apps can be buggy and may break your system}. It also offers access to unsupported software in the community-maintained Arch User Repository (AUR) but in Debian based Ubuntu you have PPA which is equivalent to AUR

My favourite OS Linux . I have 3yrs experience in Linux 1st Ubuntu then RHEL.
I have dual booted Windows and Ubuntu and from my experience from past few months I think both are equally good.
How to do dual booted
@@Obujjj Just install ISO files from official site, burn it into a pendrive and boot off of it to install Linux, there are many good articles and videos available.
After u have 2-3 months of experience in Linux, afterwards pls try Garuda Linux.. it's an Indian distro.. and it seriously awsm.. based on arch not Debian..
@@pragitsharma7629 Yeah sure I will try that after I am fully comfortable in Linux and would like to explore.
@@Obujjj don't dual boot the system,it will actually slow the performance of it .so, just use virtual machine
Linux has become my favourite now....my laptop has a "hard disk drive" and man it was worse on windows 10 ....boot time always greater than or equal to 20 mins (if lucky) and another 10 minutes for login and the loading of desktop....disk speeds only got 10mB/s writes at peak (if lucky) and 6mB/s reads peak ...playing even 720p cooked my cpu to 93C and 4k (smooth i.e no stutter) playback was a dream lost...and now, change to KUbuntu was/is a boon
out of the box...4k/60 yt playback; no problem....r/w speeds 25-27-ish (MB) ...windows transfer algorithm is soooo bad it always held up at 3-4 sometimes 6MB/s ....in linux 25-27 again .....Everything feels snappy...and can hold 6-7 chrome tabs with spotify, vlc, file explorer, some audio eq's in back no problem....
so far only one problem the ram management is a little off i think my windows showed 3.9gb and linux shows 3.7 which is not ever utilised....if i turn swap off it becomes very laggy even when only 2gigs are occupied..if swap is on i thas no problem it stays like 2gig swap full and 1.5gig ram full but works smooth af....
so far...Loving every bit linux has to offer
Didi, I want to share something with you! I took Cse diploma 3 years ago...
I did not enjoy Computer at all.
Now in btech you have inspired me no End. To new highs....
Thank you so much... I am just a number in lacks of people you inspired! Thank you soo much
I have never used Linux but now I am going to install it on my pc
Thank you Didi and Apna College team for always helping us 😇 This topic is so helpful for us.
My linux journey started with kali linux and after spending 6 months with it i installed ubuntu then after spending a year with it i shifted to arch linux which is considered to be the hardest OS known by human
She's right I've used windows from past 7 years but when I need to install Android Studio on Windows first of all loading time was > 5 minutes and in Gradle build OMG,But now I'm using Zorin Os(Linux) and believe me I've core i5 1 gen laptop and and loading time is maximum 15 seconds of Android Studio, with background apps like Mozilla Firefox and Figma, and also addicted to music so VLC also,in short Linux is more and more better than windows for students.
i was considering ubuntu for Android dev ,is it good?
@@harshivam Yeah, Ubuntu is best for beginners
@@isaqibshafique any issues you faced?
@@harshivam No, because being a developer you know some commands like how to apt update && apt upgrade, what is sudo and things like that
@@isaqibshafique yeah that is what "learning curve"is about...
😉 Don't forget KALI LINUX 🤣

Sradha I love ❤ your vedios . Usually I get bored watching on technical topics but as you explain it amendable.
One suggestion for beginner Linux users is to don't run Linux as a root user unless you are a pro because one single command can corrupt your whole system.
Yeah but some newbies distro like mint and Ubuntu have done a good job by warning user what damage it can cause
Someone-why is linux better than window
Me- because we don't own apple...
Sai ho!!!i have customize linux mint to mac theme
We can't make comparison between windows or Linux because windows has been made for general users who are not interested in technical stuff
@@everchanging19 it's a meme, a copypasta in the linux community. and you obviously wouldn't know about it.
One of the best videos on linux.👍👍👍👍
I've been using Linux for the past 5 to 6 years and I really feel like I made the best decision to ditch Windows.

What is the difference between Debian and arch ?
@@rishav6134 the main difference is package manager. debian and debian based (ubuntu) uses apt, arch and arch based (garuda) uses pacman ... Apart from that you can make any linux distro look and work like any other distro
@@rishav6134 As @AlphaNode said difference of package manager apart from that here is some info:
Arch is an independent distro built with a base install that users can customize to meet their needs.
@@ayushmaanraturi Perfectly explained.. package managers doesn't matters that much..
@@pragitsharma7629 ty, ya the package manager doesn't matter much. The Pacman package manager and the apt package manager are almost the same.
its not about best and vs but as a linux user i suggest you to use it if you want to be extraordinary in technological systematics. ie. Linux helps to develop your programming and coding skills
Awesome representation Ma'm.
