I'm in the UK, best mod on a 300 for the money is egr delete, boost pin and boost ring, boost pin makes a huge difference in torque and drivability. Checking the original pins position is also a good idea, if it's on the shallow side it can be easily rotated for more power. Also fit an egt gauge to keep an eye on temps. I can recommend Fourby for all the 300 and 200 tuning parts.
Regarding the snorkel - someone on the aulro forum did some testing some years ago on a TD5, by measuring MAF flow on a Nanocom I think; and comparing the air ram to the mushroom top snorkel intake. The test was done under load, at speed on a long hill. Surprisingly the mushroom top was slightly better, it seems spinning the air in resulted in increased airflow. In dusty Australian conditions, I've found that the Toyota style mushroom top on a 3" safari snorkel (300Tdi 110) eliminated pretty much all the dust from the air cleaner element. Much better than Donaldson pre-cleaners I'd used on earlier series Land Rovers. Where with the ram, I'd have to have tapped out dust from the element, with the mushroom top it was totally clean.
No upgraded camshafts for 300tdi available. Gent might be talking about rover v8. Def worth replacing or upgrading for sure with self adjusting tappets
Hi there, just want to hear your thoughts on a boostpin as a easy cheap modification (those sold by the company fourby) before the more expensive options like intercooler etc.
Hi, thanks for the recommendations. I wonder if you have about the twin port inlet manifold also from fourby? and regarding that custom made exhaust manifold did you realise any marked improvement in the drivability of the defender?. Thank you for taking the time to post this video. Ed
Purpose of egr is to put exhaust gasses back into inlet manifold to be burnt. Not oil. Its a complete stupid idea but prob still present on vehicles up to this day. Who would want to rescirculate exhuast soot back into engine!!

Got all that
I need more boost out of turbo
I have a boost pin and boost ring g on my 300tdi big difference I have boost gauge and turbo temp gauge as well waiting for intercooler
Does all this apply to the later models 2012 - 2016 ford puma engines?

i have a 300tdi for 22 years , i had mods 1 timing gears 2 gas fumigation lpg to the air inlet
New , Hello from Trinidad and Tobago, Caribbean
The air comes from air filter through turbo through intercooler then to inlet manifold. Reason for intercooler is to cool compressed air from turbo.
You can do all mods mentioned here no probs. Unfortunatley the clutch will need to be upgraded. Lecommended to get loft clutch
I'm Willa from Johannesburg, South Africa. I have a 1974 3 series and an 300Tdi.
