I think the theory with pinkie pie’s 4th Wall powers is true. Especially if you watch Friendship is Magic Part 2 and the episode ends, pinkie breaks the fourth wall and talls about how excited she is that the show started and Twilight came. Almost as if she knew of all the events that would transpire afterwards were already a self fulfilling prophecy

Neat, still sad they caved to soccer moms. Glad they slightly brought her back to mostly her derpy self in later seasons. Though still impressed they even had a scene they had to censor from the "melting" ponies. animating it that extra bit was neat form.

I liked every season, except S9, which I haven't watched yet. I do want to though, it's just I didn't have the time to watch it and life got in the way. And now I don't know where to look.
I like the later seasons a fair amount overall, but I’m a lot less interested in the overarching plots like in the premiers and finales than I used to be. Starlight contributes to this a fair amount, not that I hate her but she just feels like a significantly worse Sunset and feels so awkwardly forced into episodes with much more interesting characters a lot of the time. For my money the peak of the series is S2-S5, I think S1 is still very charming but has quite a few really weak episodes. Season 6-8 have a lot of very good episodes but very few ones I love and the S6 finale is really the only two parter I enjoyed after the S5 premiere. Regarding S9, I haven’t seen it yet.
I'm gonna say it. When I was a small little 8 year old girl, I had a huge crush on Princess Luna. It was all looks, I thought Luna was so pretty as a kid and she was cool, had a slight edge, some interesting story opportunites with her, and I just, thought she was the greatest thing to exist since sliced bread. Silly, I know. Eight year old me was so adorable.
There's lots of crackling and inconsistent volumes, for both the music and vocal tracks. I love this guy's content though, I'd love to see it be fixed.
when you mentioned Monster High and Ever After High I remembered how much I wished there could be crossover between those franchises and Equestria Girls. I still think Pinkie Pie and Madeline Hatter would get along really well

I recently got into MLP and find it truly remarkable how this is simultaneously one of the most wholesome and most disturbing fandoms. It really is a mess full of contradictions and paradoxes and infinitely fascinating because of it. Edit: Also, can we talk about how underrated Bronies: The Musical is. I listened the to cast album and found it really enjoyable.
I watched the other mlp videos from the same channel and never knew about it until now. I watched the first episode and I can already tell that I'm going to love it. Thanks for shining light on this, gives me more things to watch when RUclips doesn't recommend anything good

Having grown up since I was 7 with the internet mlp fandom I can assure half of this stuff left me with ptsd, especially smile hd. Mlp fandom was way more disturbing than the creepy pasta one and back then I guess people didnt think that kids might see this content. one more thing I wanna add about the ages of the Equestria Girls characters. in FiM Photo Finish is a huge celebrity who's probably in her 30s-40s, but in EQG she's a high school student. so, is she still famous in the EQG universe? and why did they decide to make her a student at the school? its something that i've always questioned ever since EQG came out. don't get me wrong I _love_ EQG as much as the next person, but there's a lot of thing in that world that just don't make sense

For a long while EGQ was considered alternate from the tv show world lore wise. Only after better reception was it brought more into the "show". Besides that, EQG is a different dimension with the ususal lack of making sense. Celestia is 1000 years old and only in her 40s? The easiest solution besides "cartoon plot" is "the portal" found/created a dimension that had the closest similarity to Equestria, but not as horses or magical haha. So ages are "just by chance" Sunset doesn't exist in that world or is on the other planet, Photo Finish is younger, Celestia was born recently enough to still be alive in that period. Etc etc.
actually lyra n bon bon are canon now, they proposed to eachother in the background of the final episode (i think, if not the last ep one from the last season)
Oh yeah do you remember the whole fluttercord vs dislestia ship war? It was so intense, but in the end fluttercord shippers won. Well I guess that it what you get when one ship is based off of characters interacting and canonical events, while the other ship it's based off of pure speculations/theories and said 2 characters never spoke a single word to each other until the last season.

I remember watching the Slice of life episode for the first time back then....and it kinda left me confused cause it focused on the background characters and at the time I didn’t know about bronies, had no idea what they were so I just thought I just so happen to be those few boys who happen to like the show....but when 2018 came around and a old roblox friend of mine told me about bronies and I was like “what are they?” So when I looked them up and realized their was lots of bronies and I thought “omg I thought I was the only one” and the first brony I watched was dr. wolf and started watching others so thus I approached a fanbase I really loved, aside from the thomas the tank engine fandom of course....now of course like with any other fanbase they’ll have some stuff that’ll probably be unsettling or flat out not for me like smile hd for example which I never saw thankfully but I don’t let it bother me, the fanbase itself feels like someplace I can call home
I found the bronies around 2015-2016. i've always loved the show since it aired and that was the first fandom I came in contact with. it's probably my favorite fandom that i'm in, despite some of the more disturbing parts of it. it just feels like a place where I can be myself and talk about one of my favorite shows with people who share the same interest

Oh my gosh, I remember Starsong from when I went through a phase of checking out other MLP generations and giving them all a fair shot. I was gifted a G3 pony for my 5th birthday and thought for sure it was Starsong when I was reminiscing about all the fun I had playing with her magnet hoof on the refrigerator (I'd pretend that she could walk anywhere). I begged my mom to find her (since our garage was a mess and I couldn't tell head from toe in there) and she did. Turns out it wasn't Starsong, but Petal Blossom, one of the many Earth Ponies in G3 (she's also purple with a pink mane, so it's no wonder I mistook her!). I was over the moon nonetheless and she sits on my nightstand to this day :D As for this video, I'd say it's just as solid as all the other iceberg videos!

Great video! But something funny happened while watching this. Admittedly I put this on more as background noise, and while it was playing, I was listening to Half Life sound effects on my phone, as you do, and got myself in a bit of spook since some of the Zombie sounds on there are pretty creepy, even after the millionth listen, and right when I looked back at the screen to see what was next on the tier list, this face shows up 31:02 and though it's nowhere near actually scary, after creeping myself out listening to HL sounds, and not paying attention to the TV screen, I was not prepared for that to show up at all. Literally flinched and jumped back a bit lmao, gave myself a good scare there XD.
Thank you for this video, it's *awesome* to know about all these things in the fandom. In the early 2010's I was only a little child so I've gotten into the fandom only just during 2020. There were so many interesting things on this video that I hadn't even heard of before and after watching this, it is something like 20% cooler to belong to this fandom.
When you mentioned the licensed comics from IDW I was also expecting you to bring up 'My Little Pony: The Manga -- A Day in the Life of Equestria' from Seven Seas Entertainment. The third volume of the manga is being released in March.
Man, this iceberg took me back. While I didn’t get passed the 2 season, there were things on this iceberg that I remember. I still listen to Discord and Awoken as they are solid on their own, but I was surprised to see stuff I recognize go as far as the very last entry. Regardless of the reception bronies have gotten, I respect them enough. They made some great stuff, even helped me find a song that became one of my favorites.
MLP has a very special place in my heart. i’m not a huge fan or anything, but i grew up with mlp g3. by the time FIM was coming out, i was about 10 and my little sister was about 4. i introduced her to FIM and told her how much i loved mlp when i was her age. FIM became her life and basically a personality trait for her up until a few years ago. she’s now 14 and gets annoyed when i talk about it. 😂 whenever i miss her, i cry and dance to a few FIM songs. she’s literally my world 🥰

And deep down i the core lies the internal Fire of friendship that spawn’d all these wonderfull gems I began my descent in to these catacombs in late 2018 and i love it

Especially if you watch Friendship is Magic Part 2 and the episode ends, pinkie breaks the fourth wall and talls about how excited she is that the show started and Twilight came. i honestly had no idea ppl didnt like seasons 5-9? i felt like it really picked up after twi got her wings

Yeah I honestly loved every season since it all felt new and refreshing and even the ending felt satisfying
I liked every season, except S9, which I haven't watched yet. I do want to though, it's just I didn't have the time to watch it and life got in the way. And now I don't know where to look.
I like the later seasons a fair amount overall, but I’m a lot less interested in the overarching plots like in the premiers and finales than I used to be. Starlight contributes to this a fair amount, not that I hate her but she just feels like a significantly worse Sunset and feels so awkwardly forced into episodes with much more interesting characters a lot of the time. For my money the peak of the series is S2-S5, I think S1 is still very charming but has quite a few really weak episodes. Season 6-8 have a lot of very good episodes but very few ones I love and the S6 finale is really the only two parter I enjoyed after the S5 premiere.
Regarding S9, I haven’t seen it yet.

For a long while EGQ was considered alternate from the tv show world lore wise. Only after better reception was it brought more into the "show". Besides that, EQG is a different dimension with the ususal lack of making sense. Celestia is 1000 years old and only in her 40s? The easiest solution besides "cartoon plot" is "the portal" found/created a dimension that had the closest similarity to Equestria, but not as horses or magical haha. So ages are "just by chance" Sunset doesn't exist in that world or is on the other planet, Photo Finish is younger, Celestia was born recently enough to still be alive in that period. Etc etc.
It's an alternate world so ages dont have to be the same necessarily.

I remember watching the Slice of life episode for the first time back then....and it kinda left me confused cause it focused on the background characters and at the time I didn’t know about bronies, had no idea what they were so I just thought I just so happen to be those few boys who happen to like the show....but when 2018 came around and a old roblox friend of mine told me about bronies and I was like “what are they?” So when I looked them up and realized their was lots of bronies and I thought “omg I thought I was the only one” and the first brony I watched was dr. wolf and started watching others so thus I approached a fanbase I really loved, aside from the thomas the tank engine fandom of course....now of course like with any other fanbase they’ll have some stuff that’ll probably be unsettling or flat out not for me like smile hd for example which I never saw thankfully but I don’t let it bother me, the fanbase itself feels like someplace I can call home
I found the bronies around 2015-2016. i've always loved the show since it aired and that was the first fandom I came in contact with. it's probably my favorite fandom that i'm in, despite some of the more disturbing parts of it. it just feels like a place where I can be myself and talk about one of my favorite shows with people who share the same interest

Oh my gosh, I remember Starsong from when I went through a phase of checking out other MLP generations and giving them all a fair shot. I was gifted a G3 pony for my 5th birthday and thought for sure it was Starsong when I was reminiscing about all the fun I had playing with her magnet hoof on the refrigerator (I'd pretend that she could walk anywhere). I begged my mom to find her (since our garage was a mess and I couldn't tell head from toe in there) and she did. Turns out it wasn't Starsong, but Petal Blossom, one of the many Earth Ponies in G3 (she's also purple with a pink mane, so it's no wonder I mistook her!). I was over the moon nonetheless and she sits on my nightstand to this day :D
As for this video, I'd say it's just as solid as all the other iceberg videos!

Admittedly I put this on more as background noise, and while it was playing, I was listening to Half Life sound effects on my phone, as you do, and got myself in a bit of spook since some of the Zombie sounds on there are pretty creepy, even after the millionth listen, and right when I looked back at the screen to see what was next on the tier list, this face shows up 31:02 and though it's nowhere near actually scary, after creeping myself out listening to HL sounds, and not paying attention to the TV screen, I was not prepared for that to show up at all. Man, this iceberg took me back. While I didn’t get passed the 2 season, there were things on this iceberg that I remember. I still listen to Discord and Awoken as they are solid on their own, but I was surprised to see stuff I recognize go as far as the very last entry. Regardless of the reception bronies have gotten, I respect them enough. They made some great stuff, even helped me find a song that became one of my favorites.
MLP has a very special place in my heart. i’m not a huge fan or anything, but i grew up with mlp g3. by the time FIM was coming out, i was about 10 and my little sister was about 4. i introduced her to FIM and told her how much i loved mlp when i was her age. FIM became her life and basically a personality trait for her up until a few years ago.
she’s now 14 and gets annoyed when i talk about it. 😂

I'm actually surprised that the ''Fluffy ponies" abuse and gore comics made mostly in MS paint were not brought up, I've frequently seen threads of them on 4chan, and often out of the /mlp board. Those are truly horrifying.
