This is one of my ultra favourite Chanel collections... just as current today as it was ten years ago... I would wear almost everything presented here... I absolutely love the Chinchilla accents... wow...
The greatest designer of the twentieth century, only second to Madamoisle Co Co, she would be proud of what he done to her brand. Sir you will be greatly missed.
Grey is an optical illusion... you can see a blue purple undertone... more of a gradient of lavender and periwinkle. That’s why certain colors look more sophisticated and luxe because they have more depth in tone with a mixture of many colors!
The good old days when the runway was surrounded by people actually enjoying the real life show and looking at the clothes, instead of that fuc**** hord of Iphone screens ...
Ahh you got the installation, most people miss the details in the sets, they really tell a story. I would go deeper the towers are also organ pipes that tie back in to the music that is playing and it relates back to coco chanels child hood growing up in a catholic ⛪️. Very clever!
I remember the collections from the 2008-20011 recession were these best. Karl, Tom,Marc, Dontella,Roberto and made sure our eyes had a feast even if your wallet was empty.
And what's your point? Don't insult Karl with that crap........he's sent plenty of people of color down his runways! Do your research before making such an ignorant statement!
This was time when they pulled almost all the models of color . I can only think of “Chanel Iman”really getting much face time. There was also Naomi Campbell but she is her own force of nature and very bankable. It was not just Chanel all the brands did it. I really Blame Celine’s create director, Prada’s creative director and Heidi Sleman and They pushed this all the models have to look the same. Also it was the recession brands need to be safe so advertising with all white models seemed like the safe thing to so at the time. ( I am not excusing there poor judgment) . Even if a designer wanted to have a colored girl You have to think it’s not worth a girl fly to Paris, Milan or NYC just to do one show, they would need to be book for multiple shows for it to make sense money wise. If you look in the add campaigns of the time it was a bit more diverse and historically Karl loved to use woman of color. It was just what was on trend however right or wrong it was. Hope this gives some context.

So many Anna Wintours
Lol
The cut was so uneven 😂
I feel like it's more of a representation of what a futuristic but elegant hairstyle would be, like the one in the movie In Time
It's 2020 and I would wear any of these today... Chanel always TIMELESS ELEGANCE...
Ugh same
The genius of Karl. He is missed dearly.
We miss you Karl!
This show is the root of my obsession for Grey
I love gray! It's so elusive and mysterious
The best haute couture collection of chanel

One of the best Chanel Couture collections ever.
This fashion show was my very first introduction to Chanel!
Im awestruck at 9:17, 10:10 didnt know grey could be so colourful!

Didn’t know Karl would take such level of fashion risk back then! I always thought he was sophisticated! So fun
This is the perfect example of what futuristic fashion can be, Karl was a genius
After all these years I still get giddy about this show. A modern take on the 1920s Coco Chanel/Flapper girl.
This collection is still wearable today
