I'm from Boston, and I had the pleasure of helping Kevin with his Boston accent when he was filming a scene back in the early 1980's. We were having pizza in Harvard Square in Cambridge ( which is really where I'm from), and he was just the nicest guy you could ever want to meet! Hey Kevin....

First time I visited Boston was on a business trip with my boss. We were ten minutes out of the airport at a stop light, and there was a Red Socks fan arguing with a Yankee fan ten feet from the car. It was surreal.

Every hollywood Boston accent Is absolutely nauseating. They try and sound like Ted Kennedy 😒... haha 😄 the departed, Martin sheens accent was a bad Kennedy impersonation.. at least Nicholson didn't even a attempt a lame impression of Boston. U wanna hear a real authentic accent, go to worcester Massachusetts, or shall I say "wistahhh!!"

He should. He definitely has Philly pride. His father was a city planner of sorts (I forget his actual position) and had a huge part in revitalizing, marketing and beautifying the city. People who haven't seen it might balk at it but I live in Philly and have seen the changes first hand.

Kevin Bacon is so good as a Boston FBI agent that i once watched a clip of that Boston marathon bombing movie with him just coming in and reviewing the bomb site, and decided to watch the full movie then and there. He was amazing in Mystic River too. Both very understated performances but he shines through.
I saw "Hoffa" on network tv; apparently he liked to call people cocksuckers a lot. It was so silly he was calling people cork pluckers and corn shuckers and all sorts of goofiness. Pretty funny actually.

My older brother talks a lot different than I do. Growing up in Boston I played football but he didn't. Something about playing football for six years gave me a Boston accent and the ability to act tough and intimate people. He didn't learn that. So if you want to learn a tough guy accent, put on a helmet and some pads.
