Good to see Indian appreciating Pakistan talent. Otherwise most of Indians are busy nowadays in demeaning Pak cricket. Arguing on illusion that Pak won against Ind just due to toss. Yes toss is a factor but you can't simply ignore Shaheen and Rauf brilliance and brilliant partnership of openers. We need to appreciate each other. It's just a game not a war.

I am bowling fast since I was in my 9th standard and I never got a bowling lesson like this. I think the key four steps demonstration particularly opening and closing of hip/sideways is the best part of generating more pace. I loved this demonstration and I am going to try this out. Now, I get that how and why Shoaib Akhtar was so quick. Suuuuuuuuuper coool tips. Love you Cricket GURUS (W&W).

Also, front foot should be towards the batsman, not towards the gully, as Fakhar said. Plus, the front arm should also move towards the target/batsman as wasim said. That's how you can generate more pace

Our Indian bowler Umran malik bowls with same action of legendary Wakar Yonus
Bhai no sarcasm intended, but Imran Malik is just a media hype. I seriously doubt if he'll ever be able to make it to intl cricket. Pakistan has at least 20 - 30 guys who can generate that kind of pace and still playing tape ball cricket.

There are some clear exceptions though,what will you say about Shane Bond who was more front-on and Brett Lee,not out-and-out side on yet were tearaway quicks.
Lot depends on shoulder and arm strength alongwith hips too to determine your pace and longevity offcourse

Yes if you bowl side-on you get more pace no doubt due to whole body weight behind you in one motion but that does not ultimately hold true for every fast bowler as physique,the pedestal at point of delivery and punching motion through the body at point of release alongwith run-up plays an integral part too.

Like shoaib lee bond these were exception sometimes technique is not the answer and players defy some basics like Steve Smith but these are exceptions for the majority these rules do apply

When backfoot is in parallel to the bowling crease and front foot is pointing towards the batsmen, it will be a SIDE ON action which is perfect for any pacer as hips, hamstring, shoulders all share the load equally and helps in pace generation
When both backfoot and front foot of a bowler is pointing towards the batsmen, it will be front on action and in this action pace generation depends completely on the shouders and is more injury prone.
If you see Steyn's bowling action, his backfoot was neither parallel to the bowling crease nor it was pointing to the batsmen
Hence Steyn's action was a mixed one

How much people he coaches learn and apply in their game is their ball game.
The way I have seen Waqar and Wasim explain bowling action in all aspects, any willing and able learner can absorb and take their game to the next level quite easily.
A coach or a mentor can only guide a person, but it's the open mindset of an individual that really makes the difference in their performance.
It's a pity to see people only bent upon blame game with closed mindset in our society. Grow up and learn to appreciate good in other people. Life is too short for such petty comments.

I personally don't think it matters so much.. Though I love waquar younis, he's a great fast bowler but the reality is bowlers like harmison and Flintoff also clocked 145 at regular intervals with a strict front on action. So I guess your bowling action, jump, hip movement, swiftness of releasing the ball and height together combined determines your pace. Side on or front on action alone doesnt matter so much
No they never regularly hit 145kph ever. Max more like 140kph. Waqar in contrast ever stress fractures of the back was timed 152pkh 1993/94 in South Africa, 152kph in England in 1996 and 149kph in Australia in 1999/2000. Don't equate one of the worlds fastest bowlers with fast medium guys

Imran just bowled very fast from 1979 to 1983 until his injury. As Fred Trueman said he a yard and a half quicker than England's faster, Bob Willis. You haven't seen much cricket. Srinath usually operated at fast medium. But he had a nice easy action and got a lot of bounce.
