Jeff, thanks so much for all the awesome music. I've always loved how prominently your bass was recorded. Unlike a lot of the stuff back then, your bass lines are very easy to follow and the music is better for it. You laid down some great stuff. When are you getting the band back together??
You are such an inspiration! Being a bass player in a surf band myself, I just love how your bass sounds... Just one question. Did you played in a lower tuning? To me The Centurions sound is one in a million, no other band sounds like The Centurions... I was also not aware of this version of Bullwinkle as it is different then on the recordings I have. (the Pulp Fiction soundtrack and Bullwinkle Pt. II allbum have different versions? )
@@jeffreylear7594 WOW!!!!, just saw your bands name on a vintage flyer from a book I’m reading titled, Southern California Surf Music. The flyer is from 1963 as was titled Surf Battle that took place in 1963 in Santa Monica. It was promoted by KFWB, and you were the bass player, this is awesome!!!!
I am a big music fan of 1950's and 60's Rock and Roll and early 1960's Surf rock instrumentals and I ALWAYS have and I ALWAYS will ! I love this cd ALOT ! ;-)
i think im hearing 3 interpretations of bullwinkles at 8:48, 13:00 and 18:04, but my ears could be wrong. i love each and every single track in this album, but the ones that stand out the most are exotic, shake and stomp (or surf beat) & pipeline.
Having record this album in 1962, it's fun listening to these old songs from 59 years ago.
