I appreciate the info on these, I couldn't decide which brand I wanted to invest in, this video made it a bit easier for me.
@@OwOUwUOnO Great! Glad to help!
Swisstech really needs to cleanup their product line. This *-in-1 naming convention is only going to take them so far.
the first number in something like 3CrXX is not referring to Chromium at all. It is the carbon content indicator. Best rgrds, physical metallurgist. And thanks for a great video!
👍🏼
37 n 1 ? I started carrying a pocket pouch w/my goat so I guess it’s about a 50something n 1 😁
Probably!!
@@hvacbudget8600 🙂
Well engineered. A very nice knife!
I agree!
Do the Scissors on your Bibury cut as nicely as the Swiss Tech? I have the same Bibury and the Scissors did not seem to snip through Paracord as easily as the way you did it in this video. In fact, the more I cut, they came out of alignment and the spring disengaged and the other side over traveled and got wedged stuck. Maybe I have tougher Paracord.... I really had to dig into it to get it to cut. It cuts paper/cardstock fine though..... I wish it cut through the paracord though.
You should do a full scissor test between all the DL30 clones. I tightened the pivot on my Bibury and it cuts a lot better and doesn't overtravel anymore. But they still aren't super sharp and can't 1 snip through Paracord like you did in this video. I still have to chew through it, takes like 3-5 cuts with the scissors. I honestly might return this tool because of this. The tool is fantastic otherwise.
Good Idea! I'll need to check.
What Clip did you use for the bibury? Would love to add a clip to mine.
I have a link in the video underneath that should help.
They keep releasing new versions of the same thing with very slight modifications and charging much higher or tempting u to keep hoarding more tools u really don’t need and u fall in that trap. I got the daicamping dl30. It is great. I don’t need a higher handle material and I like the gold version better than the black because it’s different. I was tempted to get the bibury pro but honestly the price was so much higher if u don’t have prime. All marketing gimmicks to tempt ppl and ppl fall for it and justify it and then they’re basically justifying hoarding and greed within themselves.
It is not only the handle. The blade is made with 8cr13mov steel and its way better than dl30 blade!
They could improve the sheath, the way you store the bits is a bit rotten...
We like the Swisstech for what it is, it has more extras than the others. Definitely a user tool for sure. It also has great parts for mods. It would take two minutes to put on a pocket clip but for what it can do, a good kydex sheath is appropriate with removal attachment for the extras. We love making mods on multitools. Our next project will be a special multitool for Bartenders. Any ideas.? Cheers from Australia.
It definitely does have great mod parts! I would love to see your modded tool collection!
We are not collectors mate. We only do mods on our personal tools to requirement, mainly for outdoors & bushcraft etc. We only use generics, low end steel but it will give Leatherman & SOG a good run. Other mods we just give them away to random people who don't expect it, especially if it helps with their needs & profession. Our next give away will be to a Bartender. Cheers cobber.!
thanks for the review. how did you attache the pocket clip? are there holes there in the tool that this specific clip fits into? i'm looking for a deep carry clip and wondering if you drilled and tapped holes or there's something ready. if so what's the spacing of the holes? thanks
So this is a peel and stick holster carry clip from Amazon. I do have a full video on it called something like "Clip It" It uses 3m tape that is extremely strong.
So these are just cheaper clones from leatherman designs?
They have some differences like 1/4" bit drivers which actually makes them better in that regard. The t-shank adapter is a bit thinner than Leatherman. But from what people say Leatherman's patent is up so these designs are legal copies.
Does it use standard 4mm bits? Can you replace with another bits from another brands?
It uses double sided 1/4" bits with ball detent. Several 6-in-1 screwdrivers from popular tool brands use the same bits and can be sourced for back up bits.
@hvacbudget8600 Thanks, a 1/4" bit can be used for heavier work. A modification by adding a magnet to the bit holder would make it better. 😁
Can you make a video on the clip install?

Hope this helps.
do you know can the main tool be switched around between leatherman wave and this one? say i want the scissor from this tool to replace my wave's saw coz i never ever use it, i want a bigger scissor, can i do it?
I think these scissors are too long to fit in the Wave's handle.
For this model, what's better? Swisstech or daicamping?
I think it comes down to style really. The Swisstech supposedly uses some better materials but these style tools look like they use the same internal parts.
I'm considering purchasing either the Daicamping DL30 or the Swiss Tech 37-in-1. To be honest, it seems to me that both are made from the same steel. It's hard to trust their claims. In any case, 3Cr13MoV steel is not good steel. If they made the entire multitool from 8Cr13MoV, I think it would be a game-changer. Ganzo makes multitools from this steel, and they are very good.I always carry a knife made from D2 or S30V steel, so it's not super important to me that the multitool knife's steel is slightly better.I would like the opinion of someone who has actually worked with and used both tools and can definitively say which one is more durable and seems to be made from better materials. I would appreciate such an opinion.
I can't really tell a difference in steel quality. I have used each of these and they seem similar. Probably my favorite of the Surge clones is the newest Bibury I just reviewed due to its flat more comfortable sides and scalpel tool.
What steel is the multi tool 3Cr, 5Cr, 7Cr, 8Cr? For the double sided bits what are they most compatible with?
Frame is 3cr and knife implements are 7cr. Klein bits work. Also Husky has a great bit and belt carrier option at Home Depot.
Can I mail you an accessory to review?
Sure! Email me at robertditus@gmail.com and I'll give you an address.
Am I the only one it’s bothering that he put the file in upside down? It’s driving me crazy!!! 6:56
You're right!
По вашему мнению хороший мультитул ?
Yes! It is very close to the Leatherman Surge in design. I think it along with the Daicamping DL30 and other similar style multi-tools out there are some of the best budget tools on the market.
The cut out design on the handles looks dorky.
Swiss tech blade is made with 8cr13mov steel!!! Is not made from classic 7cr17mov that dl30 blade is made! I have them both and believe me, swiss tech blade is way better than dl 30!
Good to know. Thanks!
@hvacbudget8600 That's why it costs 10-15 bucks more. But if you don't care about the blade the dl30 is still perfect!
Since you have both multitools, could you please tell me which one is better? I'm interested in the entire tool and its individual parts. The knife is usually made from better steel, but I always carry a separate knife made from S30V or another steel, so the knife doesn't interest me. I prefer the entire tool to be solidly built and made from good steel rather than just one element. I would appreciate it if you could share your experience using both tools and which one is better. Thanks.
@MKIMAGOdesign Just buy the cheaper one. If you find daicamping dl30 under 40bucks then go for it. If you can't, then buy swiss tech for like 45 bucks...
I don’t think anyone wants or needs a bottle cap lifter…
You might be surprised! LoL!
I used my multitool bottle cap lifter at thanksgiving.
I love my multitool can openers. I use them regularly.
@@richardsullivan1776 interesting🤔, but what about cap lifters? 😂
@@richardsullivan1776to open cans with? Or do you sharpen them into package openers? I thought I was the last person to actually open a can with one back around 1996 when I opened a can with a sak can opener just to see if it could be done.
So a cheap rip-off of the Surge…..
Basically yes a copy.
Sorry to say, I am Getting a bit tired looking at all these LM clones.
