These guy is just something else, the accent and mainly the interests that you have for boats is just so rare and great to watch. Rather to only see your videos than videos from the biggest yatch in the world just because the way you express yourself. Just love it. All the support from PT🇵🇹
Wow, thanks!
A lot of boat for the money. With a little elbow grease and some upholstery work it would make a really nice boat. Only reservation I have is the fly bridge ladder. I'm imaging that "You expect me to climb that" look from my wife. LOL. Thanks Nick. Cool boat.
All I heard from that is "nag-free fly bridge guaranteed". 😂
Of course it’s a bit dated but I actually looks really comfy to be able to sit back and think of all the money you’ve saved from buying one new. I fancy just selling the flat and moving into this beast :)
Lovely, lovely boat. Just cannot beat quality. If you spend another 20k, on a full service, clean, upgrade some of the systems, replace (especially the fly-bridge) upholstery and the roof lining on the main deck you will get a fantastic boat for 150k. Wonderful vacation home at the price of a small apartment in the med. Only that this apartment here will follow you wherever you want to go. LOVE.
That was my thinking too Oliver. Put another $25k into it and you have a very solid boat. Those Cats should last forever with regular service though they will be thirstier than more modern diesels.
In 10 years - that interior will come back into fashion - lovely now too
With no shortage of clever and rich appointments, the only surprise (and its a BIG one) is the price. You couldn't buy a new RIB with an outboard for this money. WOW. As I am presently powered by this exact same CAT engine (mine - 1987) I'll tell you they are literally million year motors. So, if maintained, these will last longer than the GRP (and at putting "speed" they sip fuel). This boat is beyond a bargain - its a rich find. Thanks again, Nick - keep 'em coming...
Love the variation of old and new yachts, Nick. Another great review.
Glad you like them!
@@AQUAHOLIC Could you cross the Atlantic with this yacht? How much extra fuel would you have to bring?
@@Centrinario no it doesn't have the range. The range of this boat will be somewhere in the region of 350 nautical miles at a slow cruise
A smidge dated but nothing that couldn't be fixed. For the money, you can't go far wrong. Thanks, Nick.
as a big fan of sunseeker, and a bit of a youngster, seeing a boat before i was born was great fun to compare it to the boats of today. thanks!
Great boat with so much bang for your buck and as for ruched leather!!!! Yes please!!!! God I loved the 90s! BMWs and Sunseekers with ruched leather! Lovely 😊
Absolutely! Just needs a nice original wedgy 8 Series parked next to it! 😎
@@AQUAHOLIC So true!!! I loved the 8 series! Looked like a shark!!! I think I might need one!
This could be a nice live-a-board for the right individual or couple. Thank you, Nick!
Seems good value to me relative to most of the boats on this channel. Amused by people fretting over the dated interior- but then my boat was built in 1937, so I guess I have a different perspective 🤔 . Love the old stuff!
I especially love how they upholstered the front of the drawer in the bed 😂
These things just make me realise what absolutely stonking good value a brand new fully-fitted narrowboat is for about the same price!
Possibly they won't do 25 knots though..! 😄 Talking of brand new fully fitted inland cruisers, got a video just for you coming very soon!
Wow! My two English boating channels just collided.
@@boxhawk5070 Me too!
@@AQUAHOLIC Excellent!
Lol, go down the River Severn from Gloucester to Minehead in one of these Sunseekers, compared to a narrowboat, and you'll understand the difference. ;)
Best boat youtuber in the world
You're very kind! 🙂
No way you can find a nicer boat than that for that money! And it’s a Sunseeker! Little bit of paint and refurbish and you got yourself a beauty.
Great as always. Thanks for the tour aquaholic.
Glad you enjoyed it
I absolutely love the classic yellow cats! Wish more engine rooms would add a pop of colour :)
Certainly a lot of boat for the money. Love the wood and leather interior.
I don’t actually mind this older model; it’s quite nice and different from the normal modern boats! And they are much more simplistic in terms of technology so not a lot to go wrong! Living the tours Nick!
Binging on Nick on a cool day in March. Can’t beat it? Proper boat tours! Cheers!
I have to say, I am impressed. For something that's 25 years old, it has held up VERY well, and at that price, it's one heck of a deal. Even if you had to spend a bit to upgrade and modernize it a bit, you'd still have one fantastic bargain. Very nice video, and another great tour by the man, the myth, the LEGEND, known as Nick! 😂😂😂 Thanks!!
I love the old style of wood work that you only see in the modern Trawler style yachts
Nice Video as well .. He really Kept that Boat in Nice condition for its age
I don't mind going older...... Haven't watched an Aquaholic vid for a while, glad I returned, just love looking at boats! so functional
Welcome back!
I like the older 'more rounded' style and cozy feel to this ... like the Broom 450 you have on video. Great value and makes the dream look possible
Brooms are very homely. You can tell their home seas are the Norfolk Broads. :-/ Basically something like a canal boat as a small family cruiser or something.
Hi Nick. The price for this size is amazing. Even though its dated it remains a Classic feel. Plenty of space 3 cabins in a 48ft. A big starter boat for small price. Reliable Caterpillar Diesel. Great walkthrough video tour thanks 😊
I really like this configuration! For a 90's boat how they fit everything in is excellent!
For a 25yr old boat it’s in really nice condition and nicely laid out, a lot of boat for a great price. Great Review Nick 👍
Thanks 👍
What a grand old lady and still has bags of curb appeal. I really do enjoy your tours and even paused the football to make way for this one. :-)
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
A lot of boat for the money, I would assume these used ones certainly have some room to bargain, bit of money this boat is basically big yacht boating for perhaps a 3rd of the price, lovely to see these older units in the channel Nick gives so much insight how far the tech, design and features have come along on these boats, cheers !
One of the best boat from all videos! Very good value for that price.
I don’t usually like boats like Princess and Sunseeker, but this boat might be my favourite, Period.
The interior is beautiful, with cherry wood and white leather, which aged amazingly. It feels homely and has plenty of space, a fairly updated helm, A sizeable Flybridge, and it’s incredibly cheap for what you get. If I had the choice of what boat I wanted to get, this would be at the top of my list.
Great tour as usual, Nick.
Looks like a need to get some lottery tickets at the ready :p
3 cabins, 2 heads, massive interior and winglets on the radar arch, that's a lot of boat. I quite like those style interiors, love the wood colour
Nick, in my earlier days I used to be a high school shop teacher. Made some of my own furniture. I have a great deal of respect for craftsmanship which is evident in this yacht. From your videos I know you also have high regards for craftmanship. Thank you for making these details clear in your videos/reviews. Cheers!
A lot of boat for the money. A few updates and some tlc and you got urself a nice boat
Testement to quality of the manufacturer!! Also the decking has aged beautifully !!
lovely older boat it would make a nice project upgrading it and it would still be a good price, well done Nick again cheers
Nice for a hangout in the water with friends
There's a lot of boat for the money, but there's a lot of money to be spent if anything goes wrong or you want a more modern look for the fabric or MFD's! Great tour as awlays!!
I have a '96 boat, but before I got it the previous owners had put new engines in, upgraded the MFD and the upholstery, yet I paid the same as a boat without the upgrades! Bargain!
about how much in todays currency
@@notinservice3724 my boat is around £70-80k (not a Sunseeker!)
@@notinservice3724 I’ve got all the receipts in a folder and they changed to Vetus first, then to Volvo Penta D4’s. Even with trade in value on the old engines the bills were well over £30k!!
@@nicbennett6554 for rebuilt motors? Oh my that seems quite high. I guess these boats were originally quite pricey tho
@@AnnaKuznetzova88 that was the cost of new motors after trade in and including labour back in 2009.
Really enjoyable! Although I loved to see the Princess 50 yesterday, it would take a lottery win to afford the $2Million price tag. This is a boat that most of us could imagine being able to afford, and could very realistically be a live-aboard. I would love to see more like this, thanks so much Nick!
My pleasure :)
Love that wood..my fav! Didnt quite like that trim around the bed!! But you could easily change it . All in all very nice!! Thanks!
That boat has certainly aged well. It may not be slick and new, but it has everything you need. I think something like this would suit me very well. We have something in common. A little crusty around the edges, but still going strong. Well done 👍👍
Wow stunning boat Nick Sir.. Good for party on Sunday Afternoon.. Looking dashing Sir.. Ever smiling...
Wow! You just made me seriosly thinking of get me one like that as a projekt! Your videos are so inspiring! Six months ago, I had no idea I was so interested in Yaching. So continue in the knowledge that you enchant at least one Swede!
Awesome, thanks! 🙂
Surely that's got to be a front runner for Smugglers Blues III 🛥
Nah, Nick’s an open top sports cruiser type of guy!
@@andrewryder9642 he can get up on the flybridge!.
@@MrMarko4 His getting to old these days to be going up and down stairs. His hips don't have much life left in them.
You definetly can see the quality. I'd keep the woodwork, but update the upholstery. Maybe some new electronics, also. But come on.. a classic Sunseeker for this price? Count me in! Cheers!
As you so rightly said what an amazing amount of boat for not a lot of money and great quality too. Great tour as always Nick
Now I feel old cause I was 16 when this beautiful boat was new. I would definitely enjoy the accommodations now though.
It’s a great idea showing us older and more affordable boats. Personally I like these older Sunseekers, beautifully made. Those Cat V8 look mighty impressive ! My only concern: that the fly bridge ladder looks pretty well vertical.
Another successful tour, thanks Nick 👍
Some things stay the same but today's electronics are so cool. I love this boat!
This was the hi life in the 90’s. If you had one of these you were living life good. Still a beauty!
Hey Nick another great video and it's fair to say that the owner of this beauty has kept it in great form so some lucky buyer is going to get years of enjoyment with it, Have a good one bud
Another great video Nick. If the opportunity arises can you give us your review of the Mulder ThirtySix and Sanlorenzo SX boats.
I used to enjoy watching these Sunseekers (loved the Renegade 60) go in and out of Poole harbour from my Dad's Tornado rib with twin 60 Mariners on the back! Must have been early 90s when the Truckline ferry was still in operation. For some reason I always had a fascination with that yellow and black ferry. Anyway good work as ever Nick!
Ohh good fiddles abound. Any idea if the engines need/could be updated, I guess replacing wouldn't be cost effective.
Love the layout,so much room, great boat for its age.
Greetings Sir Burnham. Another well produced video gives me reason for thanks. I appreciate the level of control offered by separate accelerator and gear controls. Perhaps more clumsy than modern controls but much more practical. I like that you left the airplane in the recording as it reminded me of the bit on Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti album.
With a good Designer one can create a beautiful modern Boat for not so much money
not bad really. even though it looks clean , i would change the carpet . idk why it just looks old . the rest of the boat looks fine. the engine bay needs a bit of a touchup but not bad. you can rebuild those Cats if need be for longer than i will live lol. good vid
The 1990's yachts are always so comfy. Now days yacht's have allot of plastic in them, they don't pay attention to the beautiful wood work anymore. Still this review payed allot of attention to detail. Thanks for the great vid Nick:)
I agree the 1990s - mid 2000s was the best era for these boats. Solidly built, bullet proof engines, amazing finishes on the interiors and some great features such as utility areas etc that you just don't get on board these size anymore. Princess, Sunseeker and Fairline were flying rj flag for quality back then, I feel they have lost their way slightly. I'd take one of these any day over the modern day equivalent even if they were the same price.
You are the best channel on RUclips. Makes my day every time I see you posted!
Wow, thanks!
a very cool sunseeker yacht. i love your videos
Interesting look at a ‘90’s yacht. Looks like great value. Thanks for the tour!
Thanks for watching!
Love this boat. More classic yachts please?
Absolutely lovely, just need to pop it over to Paul from Yacht solutions for the flybridge and master cabin and maybe an engine update but I can't imagine it needing too much. Great to see and thanks for a great walk-around. 👍
love the mid cabin kitchen! seems to have gone away but a great set up
In 1996 the DVD player was a new(ish) thing. I'm old enough to still have a DVD player or VHS/DVD combo. At least 2 new versions of DVD since and we're a whole new world of media tech. Who'd have thunk it!
This is a bit like me, past its prime, but still useful. The main difference is, it's like a good red, always tasty and NEVER out of fashion, uber retro cool, unlike me.
Nice boat and a good comparison for facilities and fittings.
Excellent tour as per always. Take care and stay safe. 👍👍👍⛴🛳☠🛥🚤🏴☠️⛵🚢⚓😎
It may show its age in some of the design, equipment and wear, but that's a very well maintained boat and it wouldn't take all that much to bring it up to date, if you so wanted. I imagine it would be a fantastic investment and great fun!
Get it cheap enough and you could blow some cash on updating helm and furnishings. Keep the exterior stock, and restomod the interior. I haven't seen wrinkles like that ruched upholstery since watching Last of the Summer Wine. Repower with some modern diesels for more power and better economy. The joy of a project!
this is beautiful, obviously could use a bit of updating with the leather and curtains and a full beam master wouldn't hurt but for the money this is really great! Thanks for another great video! Happy New year!
You too! 🙂
Nick, how much of a risk are you taking in terms of things such as hull integrity with such an old boat as this? And I’d be curious to know how many hours were on those engines so you get a feel for whether new ones would be needed.
These older boats tend to be rock solid, but of course very important to get a survey to be sure. Engine hours are a bit irrelevant on leisure boats, I've never known one do enough hours for the engines to wear out, it's actually lack of use and maintenance that's more likely to do for them. Again, a professional inspection is very wise.
@@AQUAHOLIC You said a mouthful there! Lack of use is the cause of failure in pretty much any mechanical system.
i like this boat with it having the galley tucked away a bit instead of being in your face when first entering onboard - Very similar in feel to the Fairline Squadron 55 in many ways.
I liked the styling of the couch, all curves and soft surfaces, makes it look inviting to just sit and enjoy the water. I would probably get rid of the leather and go microfiber cloth for better lounging while reading a book in comfort.
Interesting video Nick. Not sure I like the separate throttles and gears but a good value boat. I paid £150k last year for a 2001 Princess 50 and then spent £30k on improvements, service/overhaul and refreshing the teak and by the look of the engine room, the new owner of this one might have to do the same but still worth it
Nice boat, well done!
That Nick is a humorous fellow, I am hoping to get him on my jetdrive Rivolta when he's allowed to travel again to Miami for the boat show. Another good find needing a few manageable upgrades but very doable.
Nick enjoying your channel as always... I wondered what software do you use to edit your video's.
I use iMovie
Lots of pledge required ! On a serious note a hinged ladder with for sun deck could be retro fitted giving easier access to top deck ?
Jack the Sack is working on his suntan! LOL!
😛😝🤪😱🤗😋😜😆😁🤣😂🤪😱
Love it Nick; great boat. As always great tour!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the old separate throttle - shift linkage
I thought I already commented, but I guess not! So, great job as always Nick! So happy to see you growing! Keep it up!!
Hey, thanks!
The interior is so classic,it’s not exactly a modern boat but still very functional and surprisingly cheap (more expensive than my house) I could just imagine if they modernized it like they did to that riva you filmed. Awesome tour as always nick😁😁
What a lovely vessel
I love Chanel Aquaholic greetings from me from Indonesia
Hey there Indonesia!
I totally *LOVE* this boat!
I´m not that much into high gloss and it´s too fluffy here and there, but the layout and design is marvelous.
A ladder instead of stairs to the flybridge? Well, it does the job and you get more space. Also the kitchen and cabins are well placed.
I would give it a little technical update on the helm position and change some interior, but beside that: *What a dream boat and really kind of affordable.*
I wouldn´t wonder, if we get to see another video of the "meet the buyers" segment soon, because someone from the AQUAHOLIC channel baught it right away.
Thanks Nick for this really nice video again...
... older => ^^ maintenance/repair costs, but if you're capable there's a lot of bang for your bucks here. Thanks for showing, Nick :-)
I remember looking at this model back in '95. The 48....a killer boat back then. Sales people were doing everything to convince me. New price....363k in euro. 800.000 Dutch guilders.... nowadays a bargain!😉
I've seen videos of $20M yachts, and this one impresses me more. So much functionality stuffed into a space that even a kitten would feel cramped in.
I really enjoy these tours of "bargain-boats"! At the time, it was top of the line.
A fine example. As others have said, a new carpet in the galley and refurbishment on the flybridge would lift it.
For the video, thank you for a commentary instead of music. A trip to the sun deck and check of the anchor controls would have been helpful to see the access.
I noticed that all the tops, including the table when folded over, have fiddles on them. You don't see that on Sunseeker/Princess nowadays - normally only on trawler types. Does this mean that these boats aren't as stable as the newer models?
No, it just means that people don't like the style of them these days
Disappointed not to see a period CRT TV in there! Keep them coming Nick
Wilco!
What a groovy older boat Nick very retro and great value front runner for your new boat maybe? Thanks for great tour mate cheers 👍🇨🇦
We had the 3208Turbos on out Birchwood TS 49.They were great engines but went through the anodes
Ohhh I’d need to replace that decor in the master cabin though! That bed! 🤣
Ideal £100.000 Beginners boat to learn and get your feet wet on sea life, but always is a gamble:repair, maintenance, etc
Love your videos. As an “empty nester” this year? After 33 years? I am torn. A small van (with solar panels) for a nomad life. Or a boat???
Sunseeker in the 90s: We're the coolest brand on the waves, selling sex, sea and sun.
Also sunseeker in the 90s: Rouched leather and curtains we stole from your grandma's downstairs loo.
A great tour of what must be getting close to being considered a classic, now. And yes, a lot of boat for the money!
The couches are amazing, the curtains I'd refit with wooden blinds.
@@darthkek1953 yeah just dont take a UV light to the couches and beds an where ever else lol
