I solely blame the media for the lack of coverage on Women's basketball. It's like Monica Mcnutt told Stephen A. Smith, "they could have been covering women's basketball" but the chose not to and there is no legitimate reason for why. Yes, we know they don't sell out arenas, we know about the NBA subsidizing them, etc. That doesn't take away the fact that woman like Cheryl Swoops, Lisa Leslie and Dawn Staley weren't great basketball players. We know they could barely dunk, but neither could 90% of the men in 50's and 60's but, they still sold-out arenas. Caitlyn Clark is a tremendous basketball player. So is Paige Bueckers, who was in the same freshman class as CC, who was ranked higher than CC, who won NPOY as a freshman. Had she not gotten hurt 2 seasons in a row, would she be getting the attention as CC? Who knows? Breonna Stewart lost 5 games her whole college career, went undefeated twice and won the Natty 4 years in a row and she didn't get this much coverage. Kelsey Plum dropped 57 on senior night to set the scoring record less than 10 years ago but most people didn't know she held the record or who she was. Bottom is line is these women are putting in the work. It's sport's media's responsibility to bring these athletes to our attention but for some reason when it comes to basketball they just don't.
lebron is right, just haters taking advantage of the golden goose. nobody cares about any other player because CC has been front and center since the three point contest years ago.
It's not Solely based on talent but on appearance and relation to the athlete. CC's game isn't ethnic in her game or style on and off the court. She has the wholesome white girl look that other average white people can relate too and want to root for. But if you take Kelsey Plum, she's too ethnic for a white girl and won't get the same attention as CC. Honestly, CC is a good player, but the over exaggerated attention can potentially hurt her career in the long run.

Aja Wilson IS the best player, but that’s not and does not translate to Most VALUABLE Player
