Fleming sounds wonderful but this is way too slow. This conductor is painfully unaware of her singer.
Not good. First, the playing is soupy. Then the soprano treats the Lied before her like a nightclub torch song. Very unstylistic.
doGreatartistsgrowontrees? We all have our personal opinion, but mine is that she is a professional singer, and doesn’t treat the Lied as badly as you said, I think she did pretty good for her age.
It sounded fine to me!
