Joanna, you have no idea how touched and proud I felt when I watched your video. I felt like I was listening to a best friend venting, and I love how real and genuine you are in this video. You’ve come so far and it’s really impressive and admirable. I'm Arab and I never really took an interest in Turkish shows until I watched one show out of curiosity a few years ago. Now, I speak it very well and I feel like you’re really lucky because I’m obsessed with Turkey and really admire the country and the language for how beautiful it is. It's never too late to learn, and trust me I know in time you’ll end up watching Turkish shows without subtitles because of how easy the language is lol. I'm sorry that your dad's actions have impacted your ability to connect and learn about Turkish culture, but I'm glad to know that you're starting to embrace the fact that you're half Turkish. Never feel ashamed and let the misconceptions of others hold you back from embracing who you are. Keep it up and keep creating content like that. I really do genuinely appreciate you and what you do. Turkish tv shows have been huge here in central Europe (they totally replaced the Spanish ones!) for the last decade. It's been super cool to see how people have fallen in love with Turkish culture and are even traveling to the destinations where the shows were filmed. My mom, mother-in-law and even grandma religiously watch Turkish romcom shows every night, so that's how popular they are 😅

I really resonated with your video and it’s crazy how similar our stories are. Watching this brought me tears and a smile knowing that I’m not the only one. I’m half Colombian and half Kurdish. My biological father is Kurdish and left me when I was very young. Now over the years we sort of talk and calls me on birthdays. He has traveled to see me a few times and we enjoy meals together and he brings me gifts from Iraq here he lives. I don’t know any of my family members or siblings. He also made a new family over there and likes to keep me away due to maybe shame idk. So that side of me has been taken away from me due to him. I resonate more with my Hispanic side as I grew up with my mom and step dad. I speak Spanish at home and growing up in Miami, well I feel very Hispanic. But it’s a part of me I’m slowly trying to learn and my resentment keeps me away from my middle eastern side. Think it’s crazy how I stumbled upon this video. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your story ❤

Girl I totally agree, I'm 23 and I got my first promotion a few weeks ago meanwhile I have a friend that still needs to ask her parents permission to come home late and one of my coworkers is 24 and is pregnant with her 2nd kid already 😅 Everyone's path is different

I met some really cool and friendly Turkish girls that are studying abroad at a club here in San Diego where I live , I love meeting people from all over the world and different cultures 🫶🏻my mom watches a Turkish soap opera but it’s translated in Spanish & she says she prefers the soap operas from turkey 🤣🖤

As a turkish girl (born and raised in Germany) I think it is amazing to see creators with similar features like mine. Growing up, I always was the 'exotic' one with thick dark curly hair and dark eyebrows inbetween the blonde girls. I find it weird some the things you said about ppl not making you feel like your fitting in and thinking you look middle Eastern etc. Honestly your Turkish middle Eastern looks of thick eyebrows , full lips and dark hair is why your considered so gorgeous now ! I am from Cali and gone are days when blonde blue eyes were only considered beautiful.
Take a look at what our generation most popular ppl look like Kim Kardashian looks Middle Eastern ,Armenian etc . Kylie changed her looks to look more Middle Eastern and Arianna Grande became more popular after her bronze exotic looks Era. So definitely there is a change

I know this is irrelevant but Pro Plan and Royal Cannon are probably one of the two worst brands you can get, especially Royal Cannon.
