This video was super useful, thank you so much! Elgato streamdecks are honestly so damn expensive, but this is a GREAT alternative and honestly feel like I might not need a streamdeck if i manage to master Deckboard. Thank you for introducing it to me!
No problem! As cool as streamdecks are i agree that theyre far too expensive for what it is. Deckboard, as well as Macro Deck Server that I made a video previously about, are both amazing alternatives. They do pretty much the same thing and sometimes more. Although I will give it up to the streamdeck as elgato has more connections and could plug in other companies api into their software. You can do the same if you were down to make an autohotkey script and link it to Deckboard but thats work not alot of people would be willing to do. I would reccomend you check out the Deckboard github if you have any questions about how to setup certain things as well as finding uses for it you never wouldve thought of! Overall im glad you stumbled upon this video before you may have possibly given up and grabbed a streamdeck. It's useful to be able to try something out and see if it's really worth it before fully commiting to a purchase.
They're custom icons I made myself! Made them in photoshop. You can make some yourself in Photopea, which is a web based photo editor similar to photoshop.
the only issue is : i found trojans when scanning the windows setup of Deckboard , and i'm not going to risk my work station for anything that contain anything suspicion even by little
Interesting, I have never found any viruses of any type with this program. Scanning with Defender and VirusTotal. Might be something you'd wanna bring up with the creator over on his github page. Checking the github for people talking about virus' bring up a false positive. If you're still suspicious you can always look at the source code since he provides it.
If you're talking about the part at 2:35 it will be the first option in the list. If you're talking about the icons at 4:40 those are custom icons that I made myself. The only thing I can think of why it might not pop up for you is that you're using an older version of the software or you didnt buy the pro version
I have the full version now. I want to connect and did a scan on the QR code in the obs websocket settings, the Ip line in the app says he recognized the good ip and port number but it will not connect. Why is this ? I have also several other stream apps which connect flawlessly.
This could possibly be due to the OBS version cause sometimes the websocket just wasnt updated correctly or the app creator didnt update it. I will test it out rn, Ill come back to comment in a bit

First of all I did not have the client on pc running and secondly it turns out that we have to scan the QR code in the client to be able to connect, I thought the app meant the QR in the obs socket for that works for many other virtual streamdeck kinds. So I am in now, it is connected.. Now I want to know how do I get my android gallaxy 11 inch tablet to give a screen full of buttons. What is the best method ? I have landscape mode . than it says button scalling . Custom size or fit to screen. Button size for example 32 but it seems a lot of buttons this way not evenly spread.. Portrait layout behavior. it say switch with and height layout size.. Well what is the best setting ?
@@connectthedots5678 If I remember correctly I dont think you can make the screen fill up entirely with the buttons. I believe the app automatically adjusts the buttons to the screen as it sees fit.
@@DjScribblez Yes I experimented somewhat with button settings now 6x 10 and if I do button size setting higher than the buttons itself becomes bigger. So it is a question of how big do we want to have the buttons itself and finds a balance between that and the amount of buttons that will fit.. Ok Another question.. Can the button txt size be changed ? The font size seems but 1 size ? I find it too small for the buttons or will it auto set depending on button size ? I see also by the way that we cannot set a color for a button without an icon. There is no empty icon as it were. The only way to get rid of the icon is to set the icon color the same as the background color, is that correct ? Also you have your own buttons in it but I do not seem to find how that works. I dont see an option to put your own icons on the buttons..
Dunno if you still readign comments on here but do you know how to get it to communicate with discord? doesnt wanna work for me. Like the plugin to be able to join VC's and stuff dont wanna work
Built in plugin or the 3rd party? I have not used the deckboard app in about a year since I picked up a streamdeck XL for cheap. I do rememebr having issues with the 3rd party plugin but only with actually working with authenticating discord. I think theres a new built in plugin tho im not sure

You definitely should be able to. It's just macro keys. Only way to find out is to try 😃
