New China Mongolian BBQ on Century and Hawthorne is the best Chinese spot in LA in my opinion. Idk if they put this back, but before, you were able to serve yourself buffet style and the food had takeout style flavor. The chow mein reminds me of panda because of the thin noodles and they even have Mongolian bbq too! I recommend getting the coconut shrimp from there, they’re so delicious!! I haven’t been there in a while and I really do miss it, I’ve recently moved to the inland empire so food out here is trash, but I’m going back to LA soon hopefully 😭 Btw this place isn’t a hood spot, it’s just my favorite spot 😂

I live "in the hood" myself and there is a nice Chinese food restaurant just down the street from where I live. Same prices and pretty much the same quality I think. It's not gonna blow your socks off but if you want a mountain of Chinese food for 15 bucks, it's one of the best places to go to in my area. Nice folks there too; randomly gave me extra a few times when I stopped by right before they were closing for the night. That place and a teriyaki restaurant nearby are my two main spots to go when I feel like something different but don't wanna break the bank.
