    Have you had Turkish Delights before and if so, do you like them? And what is your favorite brand? If you haven't, what are your thoughts about chocolate covered gummies?

      I do like Frys Turkish Delight (it's rosr flavoured) but if you can get your hands on real 'Turkish' Turkish Delight (Lokum) all sorts of flavours, not just rose, you may change your mind (watch out for the nut versions though)

      I don't like it. But the real stuff doesn't have chocolate. It's different flavoured squares covered in powered sugar.

      I don't mind them, and the lemon one is nicer
      Aldi in the uk do a chocolate bar like dairy milk with a Turkish Delight centre so I think the ratio might be different to that frys one

    I would say don’t blame us Brits entirely. Rose Turkish delight is really Turkish but we just cover it in chocolate.

    I love it. I can't imagine how it must taste to you trying it for the first time as an adult. I love how the chocolate melds with the smooth jelly of the Turkish delight. The jelly consistency was so special because in the UK Fry's was the only Turkish delight bar you would see in shops generally. It was a real treat to me as a child. I never knew that the real Turkish delight didn't have chocolate on it lol

    If you roast it in an oven at 250C for 14 hours until charcoal then Chuck it in the nearest bin you will find it’s far more pleasant that way !!

    Well you’ve finally found a British product that you don’t like. I don’t know anyone who likes this and I’m amazed that Fry’s are still making it after all these years. Traditional Turkish delight is a sweet from turkey and is not meant too be covered in chocolate, us crazy brits did that lol, they come in mini cubes, many flavours from rose being the most traditional to Lemon some with nuts and pistachio all dusted with icing sugar and presented in a fancy box and there is no gelatine in Turkish delight it’s made with sugar and cornstarch and boiled for a long time to get the consistency. I think you would like the real stuff, also fry’s have released a limited lemon one 🍋 xx

    Turkish delight is Turkish actually
    Its very big in Turkey Greece and cyprus.. it comes in many flower flavours...its not too big in UK..
    The main one tends to be Roses flavoured hence the pink colour

  • @andrewwinton4608
    @andrewwinton4608 3 года назад

    Maybe it's because I grew up on this bar but I never understand why people don't like it, chocolate good, turkish delight good. It's nice and soft and subtly flavoured and honestly, Frys Turkish Delight is the softest and subtlest turkish delight out there, Marks and Spencers here in the UK do a version of this bar and it blows your head off how strong the rose flavouring is and it's chewy as well. And proper turkish delight is even stronger again.

  • @markhoward2811
    @markhoward2811 3 года назад

    It tastes nothing like the proper Turkish delight you get from the middle Eastern countries. It's usually Rose or Lemon flavoured. My friend is a consultant in Oman and he brings over a huge bag of Turkish Delight, which is like thick frosting covered Jello/Jelly, in 1 inch cubes for me. In the UK you can get it in this form but you only seem to find it around Christmas time.

  • @bethwalker355
    @bethwalker355 3 года назад

    This version is not Turkish! That is ENTIRELY different. Turkish version is real, much less sweet and more of a delicacy, made with purer ingredients. I 'm with you guys on the taste. Not one I would choose! I mean, I'd eat it...but only if I was very, very drunk... or starving to death!!!! Great to watch you! xx

    My absolute favourite chocolate bar. UK Co-Op Supermarket usually has two for a pound. So hard to hold off on eating the second one straight away. Strange thing is I absolutely hated them as a child. I think it's one of the tastes you grow into. A bit like coffee or marmite.

    Sitting here on my second bar of Turkish Delight, thought to myself, I bet the Americans don't like this... And here I am.

      We have really fallen in love with trying all things from the UK. Our subscribers are so kind and send us so much that we have been able to try quite a bit. We really have taken to rhubarb, and I don't think we have tried anything dandelion or burdock yet. Not sure we know what burdock is?

    Traditional Turkish delight is a sweet from turkey and is not meant too be covered in chocolate, us crazy brits did that lol, they come in mini cubes, many flavours from rose being the most traditional to Lemon some with nuts and pistachio all dusted with icing sugar and presented in a fancy box and there is no gelatine in Turkish delight it’s made with sugar and cornstarch and boiled for a long time to get the consistency. I think you would like the real stuff, also fry’s have released a limited lemon one 🍋 xx
