Thank you, Angela, for another great lesson. The peony is fresh, loose, and absolutely gorgeous. You explain your thinking so well. I really liked how you added a third leaf area to finish the piece. You always use just the right amount of detail to complement the looseness.
I have wondered why those dark lines show up for the longest time. Thx for addressing the issue. I’ll have to re-listen till I understand how to deal with it! Love this video!!

Thanks so much. I need frequent reminders of the different ways to manage water when painting. My biggest challenge is to remember to blot the ferul after dipping in water to prevent drips.
Thank you for sharing this video. The tip about building "suggested" form at different stages of the process and what to do for more control in those situations is invaluable! Always enjoy your attention to details of the process. I especially appreciated "the stop sign" as I am definitely a "fiddler" and have ruined more than one good painting that way lol.

That is my biggest problem...too much moisture causing those horrid hard pigment edges. I will try to remember this tip every time I put paint and water to paper. thank you Angela!

Hi Angela, I just asked you a question on another video a few days ago. Part of which was about using some DaVinci paint. I was asking about how well Holbein and DS play with each other, and you responded a day or so ago. You said you hadn't worked with Da Vinci. Now you have. I had to laugh when I saw your wonderful.....accent on the wonderful, sponsor, Cheap Joe's.............His American Journey paint is made by and equal to Da Vinci Artist paint. It works wonders with Daniel Smith, is less expensive, but remains rich and juicy. They are the same quality. Da Vinci is a smaller company out of California. They produce their paint in small batches and can be thought of as handmade like DS. Thanks again!
I really really gain so much from watching you and I want to thank you so very much. I have the Linda Kemp video but I was so intimidated that I never really used it. When you did this painting I thought, now that is interesting and I went on to watch your negative painting of your autumn leaves. I still have the remodeling to deal with but I am getting a stroke in here and there and I'm planning my next course with you. Eventually I'd like to take them all. You really pack so much encouragement and skill into each demo and class that it's always a win/win, even when things go wrong...........
This is beautiful! I love this style of watercolor! You mentioned a neutral brush vs. a juicy one..is a neutral brush a different kind of brush (like a different brand than the other you're using) or is it a brush that's not too wet or too dry that makes it neutral?
