  • Hi everyone! This is episode ten of my India series. In this video, I share some of my insights from my trip in the form of things I disliked about India and things I liked about India. If you are planning on visiting India, I would highly recommend that you watch this video.
Please note that my experiences were limited to visiting Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, i.e. the Golden Triangle. I am aware that other parts of India offer different experiences to the traveller.
I hope you find this video informative! If you haven't done it yet, please hit the LIKE and SUBSCRIBE buttons, and please leave a comment for me in the comments section.
    Happy exploring!
    Willie

Glad to see a video about India and it isn’t just drivel about how India sucks because they’re not a colony anymore. Glad to hear constructive criticism instead of just hate.

I understand your frustration with the honking and the train system, I would add all the hustling to that list although I’ve never been to India. You get used to it i suppose, it’s quite common in the world. Had a mini version of it in Jamaica.
Been enjoying your videos from India Willie!
Looking forward to your next destination!

Fantastic to hear this balanced perspective. Many people only focus on the negatives or positives. I've enjoyed this India series immensely and learned a lot. I am sure many prospective travellers to India will benefit from this. Thanks!

I understand your frustration with supermarkets, but Walmart killed every independent business in America, so any kind of "super" store can rot as far as I'm concerned.
But I get it all. That's India!

The same in America regarding prices. Everything is taxed except non prepared food. So, one always pays more than the advertised price.

The no1 about the rubbish is totally correct. Class differences, lack of education and cultural issues contribute to it. It may take a few more generations to change that but hopefully we will get there. Rest of the negatives are spot on as well. Some can be corrected like the train tickets. I hope they sell vehicles with horns removed entirely :)

Many thanks for watching and contributing to the discussion. Yes, I really hope they can do something about it. They need to start somewhere. The honking will be a challenge too!

7:22 Not sure what issues you had in creating the irctc website account - I was able to create an irctc website account using an American phone number & an American credit card & was able to book tickets sitting here in US for my teenaged kids who were traveling by themselves in India. They do provide reservation centers usually in the railway station or right adjacent. They can provide some terminals for people to do it self-service. The honking I 100%bgree with you - People honk just to let others know they are there they do that so somebody doesn't swerve suddenly into their lane. If everyone followed rules this shouldn't happen and nobody needs to honk unnecessarily.A pain to reduce this & some enforcement from the traffic police might just be the ticket needed.
8:24 usually you will find mom & pop stores if there are no supermarkets, Which area of Delhi did you stay in? I'm afraid I'm totally stumped as to why you faced this in Delhi. Perhaps people didnt guide you properly?!
9:10 Yes rubbish is a problem though government has started a campaign called swath Bharath (Clean India).

I listened for 2 1/2 minutes and you didn’t get to your list, neither the negative nor the positive, and I was done. Get to it man.
