Budokan is very important for BABYMETAL, not just because the importance of the venue itself in Japanese history, but also because they played 2 shows here (Red Night and Black Night) in early 2014 which were the shows to launch their first album, as well as to “depart” for their first World Tour.
Who the hell~ walks into BUDOKAN at age 14(YUI and MOA) (SU-METAL was 16) and changes history? In March 2014, Babymetal performed in front of 20,000 people at the legendary Budokan venue - setting a record for being the youngest female fronted band to ever sell out Nippon Budokan on two consecutive nights. If you've played the LEGENDARY BUDOKAN, you have made it. If you've played a sold-out TOKYO DOME 55,000 SEAT STADIUM two nights in a row ( SEPT 19-20 2016 ) - - you are immortal!

The Kami Band that night were Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (6 string bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums).
There can't be many vocalists who would fancy their chances following in instrumental intro like that (it is called 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods'), but 16 year old Su just rises up from the depths of "below stage" on her little platform as if she was summoned by the Kami ... and she takes over the stage, standing high up, all lights on her, the Kami slowly spinning around below her.
'Rondo of Nightmare' is possibly the darkest of their songs lyrically, Su is caught in a recurring nightmare running through the dark from something she can't see. In the part with her looking like she was almost suspended in mid air she is hiding in or by a fountain, but whatever has been chasing her is still coming closer and accepting there is no escape she asks that if she is to die won't it at least show itself to her.
The Kami Band do have instrumental intros in the same vein as tis before some other songs - for example 'Catch Me If You Can', 'Yava' and so on ... and the Kami Band of the West do the same sort of instrumental intro before 'Kagerou.

That was a sixteen year old Su.
She premiered the song the night before, at Budokan Red Night.
"Rondo" is easily in my top ten BABYMETAL songs.
Su actually performed three solos that night.
She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow', followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set.
Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) did two songs without Su ('4 no Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen'), and of course they all performed a bunch of songs together.
That Black Night Budokan concert from March 2014 is still one of my favorite BABYMETAL concerts of all time.
Not only is Su brave enough to sing and dance on a tiny elevated platform in the dark, but she is also fearless enough to follow those amazing Kami Band solos.
We all are the forth member of Babymetal, or maybe the 8th, 7 on stage and the other one is the audience.
Excellent, loved it! I don't know who I'm more impressed with; the KAMI Band's display of speed, technicality, & virtuosity of their instruments, 16 year old Su-metal singing a solo on a small platform elevated 3 meters in the air above a rotating stage with spotlights in her eyes, or Yuimetal & Moametal who were taking advantage of their break by catching up on their homework!

Nice reaction. The godband comes out and you have a goddess voice going. Worked out just fine to me. Nice black and red head piece. You are now part of The One. That's what Babymetal fans are called. Because Babymetal feels the fans are part of the band. Big reason why they try to get as much fan participation as possible. After that great Kamiband intro Su-metal does one of her great solo performances. She has so much talent and skills at such a young age. And somehow Su finds room for improvement for the 3rd album. Su-metal has cemented Babymetals name in history.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。"Rondo" is a musical form with a recurring leading theme. I can't tell how many times I have viewed this video. It is literally a rondo of happy dream for me. Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently with her penetrating voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her.

It was the right decision to upload with the distorted audio. It wasn't too distracting and we all know you can't do a first reaction twice. We'd all rather see a scuffed real reaction than a "perfect" fake one.

Well, some performances are iconic. This is definitely one of them. And it's because a number of reasons.
- This was just the second time they performed this song as it premiered live the previous night (Red Night) at the same venue and stage. So all this can be applied to that first performance as well.
- The instrumental intro song is called "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods" and also premiered live together with "RoN". And yes it showcases perfectly the Kami Band members proficiency on their instruments. They are called gods (kamis) for a reason.
- Su-metal, being 16 at the time, performed it standing (and kinda dancing) by herself on a relatively small and elevated platform, without any safety and probably not being able to see a thing due the spotlight. And she still performed like THIS. Any question about why she is called the Queen? 😁

_Akumu No Rondo_ combines not only heaviness with dark waltz and dope time signatures changes but also delicate and fragile beautiness that makes you wants to go to rescue this 16 yo queen from this nightmare. First tempted title was "Ki|| The Alice", so instead of Wonderland she's trapped in this nightmare trying to escape, and all of us instead of the "rabbit hole" we're in the "Fox hole".🦊🤘
Rondo is musical term with repetitive patterns.
The Kami Band doing their second magnificent intro of the night with their own set called "Mischiefs Of Metal Gods". They become regular after this special live at Budokan 2014 and leaving baby-bones, from early shows, behind, shout-out to them thou.
Many people forget this was the day (night) after the first live premiere of this song and she's dancing and performing like she already did a dozen of times before, like a pro. Also she's showing some fierceness here dancing that waltz section on that high dangerous mini stage with no wire and that's how she keeps winning everyone's heart.
Not everything was perfect this 2 nights despite their impeccable performance and sound, and the day before the girls face that dangerous challenge on the stage, taking their own revenge after coming back in 2021 to celebrate their 10 years (like you saw when performing "Karate") and leaving those ghosts behind, fortunately.
You loved that Kami Band intro so you don't want to miss another special songs with those intro such:
- Catch Me If You Can, live at Budokan 2014 (GuilhermeCait channel got one safe to react).
- YAVA! live at Big Fox Festival 2017, you can find this at Babymetal Reactor Resource channel with watermarked logo.

A tour de force vocal performance from Su with what is a pretty complicated melody that really has nothing to do with the music track...No Rain No Rainbow is another Su solo and the song From Dusk To Dawn is an exceptionally haunting vocal performance....The second guitarist to solo in the intro section is Takayoshi Ohmura...you should check out the video Takayoshi Ohmura Band Solo....it's basically the Kami band playing in a club without BABYMETAL...mindblowing...If you want more Japanese greatness...check out The Wagakki Band....Homura....Cheers!

Not gonna lie the echos from your mic makes you sound other wordly... like a goddess decending and speaking to is mortals.

The Kami Band solos summoned Su from the depths. Had they failed in their performance she would not have arisen.
Yui and Moa couldn't be bothered. Yui needed her sleep and Moa needed food.
