    Great video, I was able to fix my problem! Although instead of removing the resistors, I used a multimeter and measured the resistance across all six resistors. If they aren't close to 0 ohms, those resistors are the problem. Then I used a solder, melted the solder on the sides of the faulty resistors and added a tad more solder to it. After doing so, I measured the resistance again to check that it was near 0 ohms. Xbox was fixed after that!

    So quick question. You said making a connection where the resistors was fixed this but in my experience the term short circuit is never a good thing. Is there a chance this will permanently destroy my console or affect its longevity? My main concern being I do this and it just bursts into flames or something.

    • @ToDoTips
      @ToDoTips  3 года назад +2

      I found this solution because I was almost going to throw my xbox away. Paying for repair would have been very costly for this old machine. so it worth it for me. The resistor have zero value. 0Ω means short circuit. they have been there for some reason which we don't know and now they don't show 0Ω. they are open circuit so we have to make them 0Ω by shortening the two pings of them.

  • @ShinobiVIPER

    I have a question. Is soldering like this safe over a long term? I would have thought removing the resistors and doing this is a bad idea. Would it not be a better idea to replace them?

    • @CBRHurricane6
      @CBRHurricane6 2 года назад

      Not with as little a resistance as they are,
      You’d just not want to do that in higher power applications,
      Or just do what I did,
      Keep dead systems for part donors,
      I mean if you have the patience and steady hands there’s the possibility of replacing the resistors from a 360 parts donor,
      But given how tight a space and like ZERO room for error? May as well just solder bridge em
