Something I love about initial d is that it gives love to all drivetrains. FF cars get a lot of unnecessary hate and seeing initial d point out the strengths of the FF layout with corner entry speed is amazing. All drivetrains have there advantages and disadvantages it just one thing that makes cars so cool and interesting. Initial d is incredible btw
When people hear “front wheel drive” they tend to associate it with heavy economy sedans. I wonder if their views would change if they drove a light front wheel drive sports car.
@@rizkyhsr there is no change in rpms. you're probably referring to the tachometer. Yes it's a 12k rpm tachometer but the engine is still 11k, hence why it blew for the last time in final stage when it surpassed the limit
Looks like he went from 3rd gear to 1st gear without skipping the 2nd gear. And he rev matched for each downshift. You can see lots of downshifts like that in Best motoring onboard videos 😁
The 86 here has the racing engine which produces about 240hp, and a stock EK9 has 182hp. The EK9 here might have a bit more, it was never stated how much tuning or output the EK9 makes.
@@nothing_ayo 20 hp difference between NA engines is a huge gap considering we're looking at a fully balanced/ blueprinted dry sump engine that has thousands dollar worth of additional labour went into it against an unsealed production engine with drop-in cams and valve springs + a tune. So at the end of the day, it helps when your team leader's stacked to the hilt and has a flock of wild animals on standby if the races ever go south.
Daiki isn't basing that Takumi shouldn't be able to keep up on their car's performance. He's basing in on the first round while Takumi was holding back, also a stock AE86 produces about 112hp
@@Slender1870 Check the shuichi shigeno edition ae86, exact specifications from the first stage minus the 5.07 TRD final drive is listed there, hence why OP listed it's 150hp.

Speed car speed car
I f***ing love initial D! I hate f&f
Imagine the humiliation daiki felt there upon realizing takumi was just holding back the whole time to match his speed
As long as he can’t overtake takumi can go slow
Takumi was holding back because some strategy crap to not show his cars full potential at start
@@Ra-ml7juhere he was driving at 9,000 RPM while his engine is capable of 11k (12k in the final stage)
@@Ra-ml7ju we all know that. What I'm trying to say is that, this strategy, is daiki and todo school was clueless about. well, as they should be.

Just realized Takumi used a Kyoichi Sudo-like counterattack to win
11:08 Biggest case of goosebumps in the entire show for me!
I honestly love the 2D art of the Fourth Stage so much! I wish it came back for the Fifth...
I prefer 3D like 1 & 2
Totally agree, the way characters were, was so clean
They've definitely hit their stride with 4th stage. The superimposed 3D models look almost seamless in some of the shots.

even tho ek only has 160 hp but with b engines vtec it could go much higher. he jus didnt expect takumi's 86 having a race engine
