My headcanon is Neighbor Dan has never been important to the Charmed Ones, but in every possible timeline, they somehow cause his death. He's like the unfortunate bowl of petunias from the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
What if Neighbor Dan in this time owned a bar called “The Greasy Saloon” but it was just him in an empty room learning how to play the piano while his niece Jenny slurps giggle water in the corner
I once had a dream that Leo and Darryl had an affair after bonding over the constant mistreatment they've received at the hands of the Charmed Ones. It was a surprisingly beautiful and romantic dream. So basically, I ship it now.
Did the page for Anton in the book of shadows list his likes and dislikes? How are they going to know to look out for him if it's unclear if he likes long walks on the beach or not!
If I remember right, Patty says at one point (I think in the time travel episode in season 1 - the one with the best worst special effect shot in the show) that Phoebe is named after her favourite aunt. Going by what we see in this episode, the only one that fits is Prue's past life, since Piper's past life is her grandmother, and she never would have met Phoebe's. But then again, this show's continuity is a trainwreck, so it's very likely the writers had already forgotten that they wrote that line by the time they got to this episode.
Also I agree, past-life Piper calling alcohol 'giggle water' absolutely killed me the first time I watched this episode - that and the implication that Neighbour Dan/his soul is *so* important that his past lives are intertwined with theirs. Also also: this episode was very funny to watch as someone who saw seasons 4-8 before seeing the first 3. Evil past-life Phoebe... a real window into the near future, huh?
Probably the Phoebe aunt is one of the sisters of her father (Penny's first husband), since he mention in that episode with Paige stuck in the 60s with young hippy Grams mention he let Patty with is sister Janice and how Paige looks exactly like her (probably Janice was one of her past lives aside the Evil Enchantress)
Well, the 2000s where crazy looking back. Furthermore peoples standards for good writing are lower than ever before (nowadays have to be thx to Disney flicks etc...) Are very smart person figured out that people started to waste more money in the last thirty years. Especially wasting money for useless things started in the 90s. Four hot lead womens certainly helped a lot of young males through puberty as well. Thx Sorce of all evil (my idol you Mr Make Stupid beard...)
I watched it while it was airing-it frequently jumped to the beginning of the series, thereby artificially distorting the timeline, and this was before streaming was a thing, so you’d get a whole week between episodes to forget things. Combining the two made it basically impossible to notice the discontinuity and caused the bad bits of writing to not really stick in your mind. It also helps mellow out the sisters. So the in-real-time Charmed viewing experience is that there’ll be good/memorable scenes/episodes and the rest sorta fades into a general impression of what an episode was about. In a way it’s the ideal watching experience, since Charmed mostly fails in its execution of decent enough (or even interesting) concepts. A lot of the appeal was that it was dumb, cheesy fun with the occasional soap opera-esque storylines. That being said, the Thanks Colebama-ing was such a constant that it only got more and more annoying as seasons passed.
Whitelighters really don't make any sense because of all the retconning. Originally they just acted as guardian angels to new witches that weren't fully able to protect themselves. I don't think they were fully changed into mentors for witches until season 3. Prue's past self lost her ice power because she cursed all of Phoebes future lives, denying her soul any sort of chance at having a full life. There's also no actual explanation as to why any Warren witch has fire or ice powers. Fire powers aren't always evil. It's just more common for them. The very first witch shown in the series had fire powers before Jeremy stabbed her. There was also another witch that had the power to throw fire that was mentioned in the episode Witch Wars. How past lives work in this episode is stupid and yet another example of the show just adding random concepts without thinking about whether it would effect anything else.
Yall ignored the most important question, which is: if reincarnation is so prevalent in the Charmediverse, then how are Grams, Patty, or heIl even Melinda enjoying their afterlives rather than existing concurrently with their descendents in the mortal realm🤔
I think they imply in the comics that it is a choice. Because Prue chooses to come back in a new body. But she took over one so not really reincarnation
Evil Phoebe from the past life never left present Phoebe's body. She just fool the others thinking she had. Present Phoebe was killed by Past Prue and Past Piper while evil Past Phoebe lived. This would explained what happened to the character in the later seasons.
LMFAOOO the references to the reboot made me laugh “she messed up, bug time” leads me to hope you’re working on the season 2 video of manic episodes and phelan is just an innocent bystander who must relive all of the stupid
Do the writers have any idea of what's the life of someone that owns a club? You will sleep during the morning, working most of the day and having very few days off, and you won't throw parties at your house because you have already a place meant to host parties and some employee that will clean after.
I get a real kick out of the "a wizard did it..." jokes because I've been saying the exact same thing on Reddit for a couple years whenever people ask questions about inconsistencies or confusion on plot points on the Charmed forum. haha

If Past Piper and Past Leo are together then Leo probably died. Since he was in his twenties in World War Two. So he had to die to be reincarnated as Leo Wyatt. So Past Dan could be a rebound marriage. If Leo is Past Piper's soul mate too.
In the years since, I have come to think the ladies "regressed" with their powers because of this episode. Phoebe choosing to be evil did it for her; The "Cousins" regressed because they put past Phoebe to her long dirt nap. Even if it doesn't quite work, the show has plenty of inconsistencies
When I saw the video title, I just stared at it for a while, trying to figure which episode it was about. "Is it the one where they- no, they covered that already. It's actually amazing that "the episode that accidentally implied incest" is a _vague_ descriptor for this series.

So if Shannen was past Phoebe, that would mean Alyssa played Pearl and Holly played their great-grandmother, Patricia. Who would be Grams's mom and, since HMC and Rose McGowan look so similar, that would jive with Grams's comment in the episode Once Upon A Time. Grams tells Paige "You have my mother's eyes"

My impression is that Past Phoebe was named Pearl, and Past Prue was named Phoebe, My headcanon is that Past Piper was named Priscilla! Also, a foreshadowing of the Chris Bullshit in S6 with the Bloebe! Note: Bloebe= Blonde Phoebe!
Yeah, a lot doesn't add up...the fact that Prue and Piper get regressed because they kill Phoebe, the curse will kill her if she is the same age(?). Which implies that her other past lives, between then and now all died, too? And if the amulet protects against witchcraft, why is the no demon version? Finally i thought they were born from the evil enchanteress, Paige past life?
Now. I don't want to defend Charmed. But, I think. The reason the girls powers aren't as strong as the cousins, is because the sisters powers were bound, so they didn't practice / grow them (so why Piper didn't want to bind her kids). And all witches have a 'power' but the combination of three sisters, with one of each the elemental powers, made them 'charmed'... Maybe. I mean, I think that was the goal,
@@BozeDoesGodsWork I don't want to defend it because the writers / produces etc didn't make the slightest bit of effort to give you any consistency to defend.
They were inconsistent about evil witches. Some turn into warlocks. But then Tuahta was an evil witch. The evil queen from the fairy tale episode also an evil witch. And the evil witch that was cursing people that Paige vanquished offscreen. I think maybe evil witches just have two groups. Evil witches and warlocks. And warlocks seem stronger as there are more of them. Aside from Tuatha the other two evil witches were pretty weak. Grams even says in the fairy tale episode she has a potion to vanquish evil witches. Not warlocks so I think warlocks are more common.
I feel like this is something that confused Alison even back in the original charmed reviews she did . All witches are capable of having a unique special power . The “ charmed “ powers that were special and supposed to be prophecy are specifically telekinesis, time freezing and premonitions because those are the three powers Melinda warren had and she’s the one who originally gave the prophecy of the charmed ones . So each sister having one of those powers is a sign of that prophecy. Tldr other witches having a unique power isn’t unusual. What makes the sisters special is the power of three .
I always wondered if paige's past life existed in the 1920's as a cousin or another relative. if Phoebe's past life killed her or injured her. Could have made a fund second part to this episode if the sisters saw in a vision or past life spell again. And saw like the day before or something like that. Then could have had Paige Paige and past piper vs. past phoebe. And past paige dies or ends up in the hospital. Then past piper escapes to reunite with past Prue to the fight we got in pardon my past. shame this episode was more of a stand alone and forgotten about.
Do you guys think that the first thing Peter does when he receives the footage for editing is to set apart the "naked woman" sound clip? I think he has had to use it in every episode.
*Past lives are relatives *This past life is in the 1920's Uh...so their grandma was evil? An evil witch? This just kinda seems like it would have come up.
No, Past Piper was their great grandmother. Past Phoebe and Past Prue would have been distant cousins. There's a theory that they were related to the Evil Enchantress, who's shown in season 4 as Paige's Past life. She had power over the elements, which could have been why Past Prue and Past Phoebe had fire and ice powers here.
I always wondered why Piper never got together with Dan because it always felt as if Dan realizing she was a witch and him being unaccepting of it was out of character. Especially since he would match her energy. This makes even less sense to not have Piper chose Dan when she spends every single episode in Paige Seasons post Season 4 complaining Leo is magical because he's off saving charges and not around the house. Because they go from making Dan a non character love interest, to a non character jerkass in the later half of the season. In fact the next episode Ex Libris has Piper at her worst in Season 2 where she scolds ONLY Leo when both he and Dan get into a fight at P3, then tells Leo he deserves to almost get socked by Dan. Actually Allison Warlocks try to steal their powers too. Jeremy was a Warlock and tried to steal their powers, there were also random shapeshifters in episode 3 of Season 1 that tried to. Rex and Hannah the main villains for the first half of Season 1 were both warlocks that tried stealing their powers. So both warlocks and demons try to steal them.
Witch and warlock are both gender neutral terms in Charmed. Warlocks are witches that betray their Wiccan oath and kill a fellow witch to steal their powers. After which, they're permanently transformed into vaguely demonic immortals. They're similar but not the same as evil witches, who are just normal witches that use their powers for their own selfish desires. It's a bit convoluted.
My headcanon is Neighbor Dan has never been important to the Charmed Ones, but in every possible timeline, they somehow cause his death. He's like the unfortunate bowl of petunias from the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
Agrajag, that greasy buttcrack poo-flap
if there was ever an episode that called for a big big glass of giggle water...
This episode unintentionally foreshadowing phoebe’s evil side in the later seasons was the best part of this episode
Past life phoebe still has more of a heart , she didn't send her demon lover to hell, like present phoebe would
That’s awkward
I thought her lover was a warlock in this episode?

In fact the next episode Ex Libris has Piper at her worst in Season 2 where she scolds ONLY Leo when both he and Dan get into a fight at P3, then tells Leo he deserves to almost get socked by Dan.
Actually Allison Warlocks try to steal their powers too. Jeremy was a Warlock and tried to steal their powers, there were also random shapeshifters in episode 3 of Season 1 that tried to. Rex and Hannah the main villains for the first half of Season 1 were both warlocks that tried stealing their powers. So both warlocks and demons try to steal them.
Still not as bad as that thing with Chris and his "family's" doppelgangers.
No wonder Neighbor Dan went evil and moved to Sunnydale to worship a snake-monster-demon
Was there any good seers in the charmed universe?
Yes, her name was The Seer. 😅
Oh my. They really do just play Magic Assaulting Phoebe like it is nothing. That's messed up...I wonder how M^3 would have taken such a story line...

I thought that warlocks were pretty much male witches.
XD
I love that you’ve made an entire career/identity based around hate-watching this show. Lolol
I honestly am team Dan. I don't get the Leo character. I feel he was always so boring and he definitely overstayed his welcome
Leo doesn't have any friends , money as he doesn't have to cause powers.
