You guys are literally the best. I used to watch charmed all the time and just enjoy the background noises but. Hearing people joking and poke fun at it. One million times better. Every time you post new charmed content I die laughing cause it’s to great. Love your posts ❤️
Ah yes the Prue era my favorite era of the show. It also reminded me that Phoebe use to be my favorite sister. Too bad she gets ruined and becomes PhoeME the very next episode. One of my favorite episodes for sure. I just wish the hanging scene could've been for Phoebe and Piper's later season counterparts, not back when they were actual people and less insufferable. I loved Piper's Glenda costume because it contrasts the irony in a self awareness type of way. Plus Piper was funny back then. In that 70's episode it was stated only one set of sisters can have powers at the same time within the same time. Which is why their adult selves had no powers then. Love hearing the jokes here. lol
i actually really love this episode including the "twist" at the end re: melinda warren. i love prue's sparkly butterfly costume, i love cole's stupid 17th century "disguise", i love the fact that the apple turning into a c-shape is supposed to be some kind of sign (which, even as a kid, i was like, "wouldn't any apple peel just automatically take that shape?" also, i would that actual money that this is the one piece of continuity of the writers remembered and that's why they gave coop a name that started with a c lol.), etc, etc. this was during the epic first phoebe/cole go-around which i remember living for as a kid only to realize as an adult that they were ripping off btvs. but honestly, i still think alyssa milano and julian mcmahon really pulled it off. they're both really talented actors, regardless of all the behind-the-scenes drama. this is my favorite season of the show which is really ironic considering that after season 4 of the show pretty much took a complete nosedive because of alyssa milano and holly marie combs monopolizing everything. i just saw an ad for their "reunion" on grey's anatomy and i was like "no!!! keep them separated!!!! don't cross the streams!!!" if it's not clear already this show was formative for me as a young kid, and having also growing up on who's the boss reruns (i'm still a massive fan of that show...like...allison in the quantum leap fandom style), i still have a soft spot for alyssa milano, as long as she's not on twitter or talking to or about any of the other charmed cast members lol. it's really ironic to me that the person who seems to have thrown the most from the experience is shannen doherty. especially considering how the other two demonized her for so long. but hey, prue was always my favorite sister anyway.
No, see? The whole "C" thing was actually spoke clever foreshadowing about how Phoebe's ONE TRUE LOVE was Coop! See? They had totally planned it all along!
I went down the rabbit hole, again, and re-re-re-re-re-re-watched your Charmed reviews and, honestly, I don't think there is anything you could upload that I wouldn't watch. I am a huge fan, have been since the Lupa days, and you never cease to entertain. Thank you!
Favorite part of this podcast's episode is definately Piper "sound" at 45:50 - that's totally something season 6-7-8 Piper would do in that situation lol (even with that fact, Piper is my favorite sister, with Prue and Paige sharing the second place...Phoebe's not even on the list).
Lady! I still want you to do the best episodes written and acted. There is a handful of great ones in each season. I would totally join you in the conversation as a die hard fan.
Piper was acting kind of crazy at the beginning when she was like "I'm a good witch!" The early seasons they really tried to have her want to be this goody goody and later on that all went out the door.
Truthfully I love this episode because it's pretty true to the show's pagan roots. There are a lot of pagan beliefs in this show like they describe Halloween, apples and herbs being used in protection spells, sweeping from East to West to cleanse a space, the conical hat to center your energy among other things.
@@skurinski well I love this podcast. I wouldn't call them idiots. They make a lot of valid points about this show and honestly, I look forward to these videos. I'm a huge fan of Charmed seasons 1 to midseason 4. In fact, I even liked hearing their thoughts and opinions about this episode. I was simply sharing my thoughts and some facts that perhaps they weren't aware of.
They couldn't use their powers in that 70's episode because their younger selves already had them and apparently the same person from different time periods can't share powers. However, both Chris and some random warlock from the future broke this rule. Also Cole is an upper level demon. Of course this explanation is largely irrelevant because canon means essentially nothing.
I’m SHOCKED there’s only 2 Halloween episodes ITS A WITCH SHOW, I also can’t believe the only Charmed season which doesn’t have Time Travel is the first comic season
I think they were trying to pretend this show wasn't a buffy rip off and buffy's Halloween episodes were fairly common. The irony is that in the Buffy verse its said, many times, that nothing ever happens on Halloween (even though stuff always happens) but in Charmed verse demons can come back and do stuff only on Halloween, but nothing ever actually happened on Halloween except here and season 8.
Clear Mountain see In season 8 they could’ve brought the real demon that kidnapped christy and we find out he’s been vanquished so billie has until midnight to get as much informations as she can before he disappears. Lol so ya'll bring it up in all the time travel ones an I"m sure you don't read these this much later but for anyone wondering the reason their powers ostensibly don't work, if I understand correctly, is because they use *the same powers* as their ancestors and their future selves; so in this episode Melinda (and theoretically some number of other people) possess the power they will one day wield so they don't have access to it. The same in the episode where they are kids; their younger selves already have the powers, so they don't have access to it. The implication being that their powers are not something inherent to them but instead a thing that exists whether or not they exist, and they are simply the correct vessels to harness that power; that's why they can substitute Paige for Prue later also, and it's the premise behind them using their mom and Grandma Not-Ghost to stand in for the sisters; because as *almost Charmed ones* they can tap into a fraction of the Power of Three without having full or free access to it. That's why I think Cole has his powers when he goes back in time, because demon powers aren't tied to anything except themselves; Cole's demon powers *only* exist because he does.
Are you planning to do a full review of season 1 reboot like you did with original show? I mean, I know you guys did a podcast on each (?) episode, but as someone who hasn't watched the new show (and probably not planning to), it's difficult to understand without visual hints, and I got lost pretty quickly. The season review though would be great to comprehend, and for the lulz too! Love you guys :)
Wait, how did Leo keep his uniform? We know he was legally declared dead, so it's unlikely he was able to collect his belongings, right? And even if you assume another White Lighter could've collected them for him, posing as a relative or whatever, this doesn't seem in-character for them at all, even if you don't think they're dicks. Like they clearly have this "no ties to the mortal world" policy. And if it was the one he died in, and his original body was just literally revived, rather than idk getting a new angel body, then how would he have been declared dead if they never found a body? I don't think he went MIA and they stopped looking, cause he died saving all his buddies, right? Seems there would've been too many people there to not notice his disappearance, dead or not. I know this is nit-picky, but whenever they make these "cute" joke-y moments regarding the characters' weird supernatural background, I feel it has to make sense for the "haha thats whacky" effect to be earned. Or maybe I'm just silly.
Wait, your doing Halloween stuff now? That started clear back in September. You gotta hurry if you wanna pick up the slack! That said, this is a quality podcast right here.
Meanwhile a much BETTER show about witches, Sabrina the Teenage Witch did 6 Halloween episodes during its 7 season run. Most likely the Charmed ones didn't like doing Halloween because that would require having fun and creativity which was NOT allowed under the great and terrible Phoebe Halliwell because that doesn't involve dates, sex, or blaming Cole for all HER problems.
First time commenting, but I've been watching your videos for a while now. I've got to say that they always make my day better when I catch an episode because I can never stop laughing! That said, there's just a couple things I noticed that maybe I could help make more clear because OG Charmed is one of those things that I can never escape. 😅 When the Grimlocks run into Cole and the one turns to the other and says "nice costume," I want to say that was in reference to the little boy they were choking earlier who commented on their "cool costumes" because when they go to the manor in the next scene, Phoebe initially thinks it's a couple of guys in costume before she realizes that they were the demons they vanquished in season 1. The Grimlocks start choking Phoebe and Piper before Prue saves them. At which point, Piper freezes the Grimlocks just as Leo runs into the room just seconds before the portal takes them. On the subject of them losing their powers, I want to say the reason they don't have access to them was because when they went back to 1670, Melinda Warren wasn't yet born, and she was the source of their powers and their legacy. In 'That 70's Episode', the explanation given for them not having powers was because their younger selves in 1975 had then, and "only one set of them could have powers at the same time in the same time." This was different than when they went to the future because instead of just visiting and "observing" their past, they inhabited their future bodies and their future lives.
Welp. I always hate when a character has my name in a show. But it was worth it to hear you say "Stupid Micah" over and over. Just don't do that episode of Xena with Micah
what's amusing to me is they forget the c peel pretty quickly. like i half expected phoebe to date people with a c name but the only love interests i remember with c names were clay, cole, and Coop. so i don't know if it was a coincidence in season 8 or if they just remembered out of the blue. because you'd think especially in season 6 when she was trying to get premonitions of who might be the father of her future daughter... to look for people with a c name lol.
@@mitchellhorton9382 Billie would have been better if she was introduced in season 7 or even 6 for a slower build of her storyline but season 8 was terribly written and the writers didnt have the budget to hide it any more. But I actually liked Billie In season 8 she was really the only one interested in saving people , everyone else not so much.
@@joshroberts1936 I did find it wierd that there were TWO witches who were more powerful than the Charmed ones, who were supposed to be the MOST powerful witches.
@@patricklyons794 to be fair, we couldn't even keep that true in their own family. Because Wyatt has to somehow be Franklin Richards. And Chris doesn't get any of those super genes I guess.
Oh. That's this weird episode where Grimlocks were hitting on Cole. Apparently, when they said "nice costume", they meant Julian MacMahon's costume which is supposed to continue a trend of sexualizing Cole by various magical substances.
I'm pretty sure when the Grimlock said "nice costume" to the other Grimlock, it was in reference to the little boy who thought they were in costume. When they show up to the manor in the next scene, Phoebe initially thinks it's a couple of guys in costume before the realization hits that it's actually the Grimlocks.
Just got done watching that 41 second clip of Charmed Jr. What the holy fuck was that?? *shrieking* don't touch my sister!! How the fuck does she care about these bitchs that much already!! I hope this season is good. And if it isn't, you two better not fail me! Love yall, love your show!
For all this episode's faults, as a witch myself, I did like it for the historical...slight nod, to witchcraft in the olden days and the suggestion that magic is not all fireballs, telekenesis, and blowing shit up once you learned how to freeze time. I could relate to the magic the witches used. Broom sweeping, herbs, witches hat, etc. That is all legit magic. Inncluding the bit where the bullet shot through the protection orb. Irl, I can possibly use magic to thwart a big baddie from doing baddie things but once they have chosen to shoot a bullet, I'm screwed. 😅 I was not pleased with P3's distaste for birth. What a cliche. For a show that is about women power, you'd think women doing the ultimate bad-ass thing: Creating Actual Life, wouldn't be demoted to a one-off joke about Piper having to do "dirty work". My mouth dropped to the floor when the sisters were disgusted by that woman. You. Are. Helping. A. Woman. Bring. Life. Into. This. World. What laboring person would be comfortable being anywhere near you while you whine and complain about how gross it is to help someone at one of their most vulnerable states? Holy Shit. At least in Season 5, Phoebe and Paige her decent-ish midwives. I'm not giving them credit fo disregarding Piper's birth plan and Phoebe totally made Wyatt about herself...but still it was nice to see portrayal of women actually supporting women in labor and marveling at birth.
Season 8 is so horseshit that there's barely anything to like in it. I still don't like Billie that much even if she did care about helping people in the first 7 episodes of Season 8. Also there is another Halloween themed episode in Season 2 called Chick Flick, while it doesn't take place on the holiday itself it relates to the girls fighting parodies of horror movie creatures. It actually fits with the campy nature of the show...Kill Billie Vol 1 barely focuses on the holiday despite taking place on it. I was more annoyed at that scene where Piper turned the reporters into rodents with her alternate solution to blow them up, she only turns them back because Paige forces her to. This was one of my favorite episodes of the show though, one of the best for sure. In a so bad its good way. I strangely enjoyed all the sisters in this one, which is rare after Season 2. Even Phoebe has yet to be obnoxious (to bad she gets ruined the very next episode and the ones following that one) This is the last episode where Phoebe is a likable character before she forms into PhoeME, so take that as you will. The bit where she flies on the broom is the last time likable Phoebe is shown onscreen and does foreshadow her downfall which begins in Season 3 episode 5 or episode 7. I also liked Piper's irony as Glenda because back then it was humorous to see Piper being self aware, but still Piper, while still having the same attitude (in an amusing way), as oppose to be obnoxiously detached from reality. As explained in That 70's episode the reason they lost their powers was because only one set of them can have their powers within the same time.
Hope you guys are going to be reviewing Charmed season 2! I like the new direction they seem to be going in and I hope you guys will as well. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.
I do hate time travel stories. I find that 9 times out of 10, a story that uses time travel would be better were it rewritten to cut it out. >__> That 10th story that is better for having time travel and not diminished by it is a rare bird.
Don't Grimlocks steal the eyesight of children so they can see people with pure good oras(Heroes?) and use that to kill them, Also doesn't the big grey Grimlock play Cole's Balthazar form?
I just caught season 2 on hungarian TV! Man, Neighbor Dan and his dumb niece in the intro, Piper already being upset that "Leeeeeooooo!!!" orbs in during the day... :D Man, classic. I kept hearing Lupa's voice in my head.

Probably because of the demonic wasteland being made after this season.
Probably so! I mean, being trapped in a hellscape of demon eating worms, cakewalk compared to Phoebe, queen of the underworld.

The writer must have really wanted a Leo-Darryl scene. In the grimlocks' first appearance, vanquishing them healed everybody they blinded.

Most likely the Charmed ones didn't like doing Halloween because that would require having fun and creativity which was NOT allowed under the great and terrible Phoebe Halliwell because that doesn't involve dates, sex, or blaming Cole for all HER problems.
It too has a gritty reboot, though like the original, its good/better than Charmed.
First time commenting, but I've been watching your videos for a while now. I've got to say that they always make my day better when I catch an episode because I can never stop laughing!
That said, there's just a couple things I noticed that maybe I could help make more clear because OG Charmed is one of those things that I can never escape. 😅
When the Grimlocks run into Cole and the one turns to the other and says "nice costume," I want to say that was in reference to the little boy they were choking earlier who commented on their "cool costumes" because when they go to the manor in the next scene, Phoebe initially thinks it's a couple of guys in costume before she realizes that they were the demons they vanquished in season 1.
I love you two!! Make more!!
OH MY GOD they remembered that phoebes true love must start with a C like coup
Imagine if Galvin comes back as Jacob Marley in a Charmed christmas special titled a Witchmas Carol
Wait they’re adding a new character who boxes? Oh god they’re going to remake the dumb demon wrestling episode but with boxing aren’t they?
I am 100% behind Laryl (or is it Deo?) romance.
How the fuck did Cole even know The Elders were gonna send them back in time when Leo didn’t even know until 5 seconds before they opened the portal?
In the future episode they were in their future bodies so they had their future powers
I don't get why time travel is so hard on this show! There's time travel in almost every season!
i laughed the entire podcast, as always thanks for continuously mocking Charmed
haha... Granny Goodwitch. That made me laugh because that was the nickname my grandmother (mum's mum) had.
You totally changed my mind about Billie tbh
Honestly Billy wasn't a bad idea but you can't do anything with those scripts
@@mitchellhorton9382 Billie would have been better if she was introduced in season 7 or even 6 for a slower build of her storyline but season 8 was terribly written and the writers didnt have the budget to hide it any more.
But I actually liked Billie
In season 8 she was really the only one interested in saving people , everyone else not so much.
"Forget the power of three, use the power of the second amendment"
I was not pleased with P3's distaste for birth.
I wanted the apple peel to form a capital Q.
I would listen to a Charmed podcast called “Suck It” in a heartbeat
Always a pleasure listening to Charmed Rewind!!!! 😍
Hope you guys are going to be reviewing Charmed season 2! I like the new direction they seem to be going in and I hope you guys will as well. Can't wait to hear your thoughts.
I'm a bit disappointed that I'm not the first person to dress as Santa for Halloween, and after all the trouble I had finding the hat.
Pregnant pause is from drag race * Courtney act
I just realized that the bit with the letter C is actually consistent with the fact that Phoebe married Coop
I do hate time travel stories. I find that 9 times out of 10, a story that uses time travel would be better were it rewritten to cut it out. >__>
That 10th story that is better for having time travel and not diminished by it is a rare bird.
YASSSS IM SO FUCKING EARLY I LIVE!!!!!!
P.S I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS EVERY NIGHT TOO FALL ASLEEP
Allison and Phelan are my power couple
Just what I needed to keep my insomnia :)
The Grimlock's don't so much know how to get out of hell, as much as they're just so weak nobody cares that they use the front door. :P
Alyssa Milano's baby voice was so annoying, don't know why she thought that was a good acting choice.
Sad news. We just lost Prue in the real world. RIP Shannon Doherty.
Lawyer slash amateur boxer? Is it Craig? Does he have to decide which to pursue and ends up being his own boss, practicing law out of the gym?
This episode review was "SpOoKy."
32:05 Well, they travelled back in time so the "elders" would have been old enough to be called elders?
I was like 9 when I first watched this episode and way back then I thought the apple fortuneteller part was incredibly stupid :D
its true and relates the pagan roots.
Don't Grimlocks steal the eyesight of children so they can see people with pure good oras(Heroes?) and use that to kill them, Also doesn't the big grey Grimlock play Cole's Balthazar form?
@movienights.. can you do a review on Charmed season 6 episode " Chris Crossed"?? Woukd love to hear you and Phelans perspective!!
C is for Cookies
"the first letter of your true love is... R? The fuck?"
Having studied fashion history, I would have torn this episode a new @sshole.
I just caught season 2 on hungarian TV! Man, Neighbor Dan and his dumb niece in the intro, Piper already being upset that "Leeeeeooooo!!!" orbs in during the day... :D Man, classic. I kept hearing Lupa's voice in my head.
*stomps on the brakes.* Hold the fuckin' phone. *backs up* The Charmed ones are the MOST GOOD witches EVER? Hold your horses ladies and gentlemen the reboot is about to get a lot worse.
Will you be reviewing season 2 of the charmed reboot?
