Love to think Phoebe went to Tim's funeral, a largely symbolic ceremony as his body was atomized by Piper, and just does her baby voice or an ad for her column and everyone cries and cheers ans applauds her cuz Producer power!
The way I SCREAMED! Charmed Rewind during my lunch hours always helps me unwind and deal with my shitty coworkers! ❤thanks for being a part of my regular routine. Keep posting guys
I think the only reason they were trying to turn the Charmed ones into selfless angels was because they thought the show was getting canceled and it was their last chance to try and make Phoebe, Paige and Piper redeemable lmfao
It wasn't actually getting cancelled, the show runners wanted to end the show in season 7 but were forced to make season 8 by the network. That's why the quality of the show took an even deeper dive in the last season, nobody involved wanted to do it.
It was a real missed opportunity not getting the doctor from season 2 as Piper's guilt trip zombie. One positive I'll grant this episode is that the disintegration effect for the undead innocents actually doesn't suck. 90% of the time a demon or warlock is vanquished, it just kinda bursts into flames into nothing and it looks terrible because it makes them look like they're made out of air. Here you can actually see the body break apart. It's as if they thought the series was gonna end so they didn't totally laze out with the effects this time.
Zombie Davidson (upon being resurrected from the dead): "At last! I will have my vengeance on Prue for what she has done to me!" Zankou: "Go attack Phoebe. Remember, she lied to you about Cole"' Zombie Davidson: "Prue is the one responsible for my death! I seek retribution!" Zankou (talking slowly and deliberately): "Nnnnnnooooo...You...are...to...go...after...Phoe-be". Zombie Davidson: "Wasn't she pounding behind locked doors, trying to get in? Prue was right there when those warlocks attacked me, she could have saved me but did nothing! Now she shall suffer!" Zankou (exasperated): "Listen, nimrod, if you keep talking about Prue, the Ultimate Power - aka Brad Kern - will see to it you will never receive any residuals from your brief appearances on the show" Zombie Davidson (after a long pause): "Phoebe shall feel my wrath!"
I'm positive at this point for the advertising, they just didn't care anymore. They knew that the show was ending and just wanted to do whatever they thought would get people to watch, even if it meant lying and making up what the episode was about.
When it comes to Piper, I never understood why they didn't bring back Doctor Williamson from Season 2's Awakened (the Ninja toy episode you reviewed) since he died in the episode of that same season called Astral Monkey, which featured an admittedly well done ending where Piper cries over the loss of him, because they couldn't save him from being corrupted by having their powers. It was actually one of the rare times Piper showed genuine emotion and was argubly one of her best moments in the show, for an episode all about bringing up past events, the fact that was forgotten over two people we never see baffled me. As usual Phoebe is the Queen Margoyle for me simply because of that scene where she flirts with a guy, he dies and all she does is make his death about herself. Even in death she finds a way to punish those evil men! Also can I say Allison, I love how the sisters look in that image, it captures their faces so well. Phoebe's apathy and Piper's evil blank stare are SO on point! LOL
Yes that doctor of course. I always thought this would have been a great way to bring Andy back...we would have cared about Andy more than these new ones and that cop
I just finished watching your Charmed Reboot S1 analysis, so listening to this right after is interesting! And yeah, I remember that promo. Takes me back...
Wendigo Episode: Phoebe is able to try to teach Piper to change a tire and is straight up shaking her head at how clueless her sister is at a basic life skill including a valid scoff at the idea of using a wooden spoon. Later learns martial arts because of a basic survival instinct. Season Seven: Phoebe changing a tire? Phoebe protecting herself instead of screaming for Piper? No, she has a column to write. She can't save innocents with tire changing and self defence. And I'm totally being that person: but the whitelighter story Paige has actually fits the lore (I know, I'm surprised too). Whitelighters have witches and future whitelighters as charges and are supposed to help guide them. Potential whitelighters have to stay on a path to earn their wings and if they die too soon they don't become one for some reason. Paige had a witch charge with super speed in this season too. They ALMOST kept whitelighters continuity, but Paige couldn't sense/feel the pain of her charge despite Leo being able to do this for charges who aren't even his own in the episode with the Warlock who wanted to wipe out the Elders. In hindsight, maybe Ames was just an antihero who was willing to kill witches to get rid of the dick-tators that be.
Allison sometimes I can't stop laughing I start crying, your commentary and inside jokes are just chefs kiss. Now I know you mainly cover bad shows, but like a Buffy is a mess kinda content would be so much fun.
I find it kind of ironic that the WB used the "I slept with a zombie" line to reference one of the few men Phoebe encountered but did not sleep with. Seriously, they had plenty of choices for a line like that but this is who they use it on? Given how many times a demon impersonates one or more of the sisters over the years, I'm surprised they never came up with a code word to test each other, something only the real sisters would know. Or even just ask about a specific instance from years ago that demons wouldn't know about. This was season 7 and the only time I can remember something similar is Piper asking Phoebe what her middle name is. I don't remember the episode but Phoebe replies "surly" and Piper accepts that. Leo lost his powers in The Seven Year Witch, so it would have had to be one of the boys or Paige who orbed them there and back.
The anticlimatic line you guys are remembering was from Charmed. It is a recycled line from the melty-faced Source, then Zanku and I think another villain said it. As you said, Charmed is nothing but recycle, recycle, recycle.
If they couldn't get Prue to resurrect (for obvious reasons), Andy would have been the next logical choice. He was like a brother to Piper and Phoebe; they would have been emotionally devastated if he was resurrected as a zombie. Darryl too. For Paige, resurrecting one of her parents would have been brutal for her.
Thanks for this amazingly funny episode. Yeah... season 7 was wild. Margoyle: The crypt keeper. The only ability You have and carry around since the crusades and earlier relies on a upper level demon helping You. And then Your old friend just kills You because... reasons. That's plain stupid. Carman: The book of Shadows. It has finally been rescued from the claws of the three wicked witches xD
When this episode aired at the time i was expecting Prue resurrecting from the white coffin, because it was similar to the one they used in the first episode of season 4 biggest delulu
Hmm... it's like Phoebe is such a self-centered a-hole that they have to dig into Prue's trash to give her any relevance. Phoebe: Hmmmmmm.... yeah you guys remember when Prue was always busy working at Buckland and that time that everyone liked of her crying in the basement from being an empath? Well, now it's gonna be me!!! Prue, who? I even get her lost innocents, I called first on it, me the great Phoe-me!
...Zankou, Honey. If the book of Shadows didn't weaken despite being in the hands of the most selfish witches for years. Making the Charmed Ones slightly sad isn't going to weaken it.
it's kind of funny how in later seasons when demons impersonte the charmed ones it's often to kill other demons. they're better at being the charmed ones by pretending to be them than the actual charmed ones. They'd rather complain about dates, husbands, work, and more. honestly still makes me think why didn't they just give up their powers in the season 4 finale. i mean when dc super heroes flash, supergirl, even clark in smallille saved more people without the cape. the charmed ones went from being heroes to villains.
Phoebe's response to Tim reminds me of a Kids in the Hall skit where a woman's marriages keep getting ruined by increasingly strange reasons, including her new husband gettig shot the moment hey exit the chapel, and her just reacting with annoyance.
To be fair, the Whitelighter thing makes sense, and I'm pretty sure was established early on in the show. People like Joanna will become WLs when they die, IF they live long enough to do whatever good thing they're destined to do. So WLs are supposed to protect/guide potential WLs until that happens. Since Joanna died "early," without accomplishing whatever good deeds she was meant to do with her life, she can't become a WL. It would be like if Leo died before saving people in WW2. Anyway, Piper for Margoyle. At least Phoebe half-understands the concept of compassion in this episode.
That has actually confused the eff out of me over the years. I know it was to limit set changes but it left them vulnerable every time they slept, bathed or took a dump. 😂
@@deirdrestatham5730it doesn‘t require a high budget to place crystals around the house, it requires intelligence. that is something the showrunners didn‘t have.

@@KillStealMusic Every time they need to film in a new location they have to build a new set. It’s incredibly expensive. That’s the reason they used to same alley set and the underworld set so often in later seasons. Sometimes stupid writing decisions are based on limited budgets.
Apparently there was a Charmed podcast called House of Halliwell with Combs, Krause and Fuller that covered the first two seasons of the original series.
so im rewatching the two part episode where they become gods. and it gave me a idea for the series they should went with full swing. leo actually becoming the final threat and problem for the sisters. when they hear about the power of the gods and declaring themselves as them could come at the risk of losing theyre humanity. chris tells them they didnt do that in his time and still handled the problem. and when leo finally shows up to encourage them like they beg all episode. Paige right away says lets do that for the power buff and we'll crush it. and LEO, promises HE knows them BEST. and they SURELY could NEVER EVER. become evil? and then season 7 he does get super sussy and joins avatars and i think that shouldve been something where he died doing something right in the end and piper saying goodbye to that chapter of her life and moving on to something new.
Charges can be both future whitelighers and witches. They protect future whitelighers so that they can do whatever good deed that eventually earns them their wings because every single supernatural has to have a destiny in later seasons. I think in the earlier seasons they tried and gave up on the idea that whitelighters were also supposed to help people being targeted by darklighters but I could be wrong about that.
Say what you want about charmed demons but they happen to be the most considerate, patient and agreeable demons you'd ever want to fight, they do what they are needing to do and with no concern for their own life wait around to be killed/vanquished while the sisters get their act together. The first demon even went further and ended himself for no reason other than to make Phoebe not look so pathetic and weak. Speaking of which isn't she supposed to be physic with her premonitions and yet here she is helpless, two other characters gain her power this season and both instantly make better use of something she has had seven years to work with.
