- Full time van life is back but the circumstances are not good.. After receiving some bad news from family in the UK this week, we have to urgently get back there.. We get the van ready for full time van life again and head north stopping first to check on our off grid land..

Thanks for thinking of us.. We’re ok and will soon be with family back in the UK. We’ll continue to share our videos every Thursday as usual.. This is what we do and enjoy doing it. It’s also how we earn a living, there’s no sick pay on RUclips but of course If it gets too much then we will take a week off and let folk know in a community post, it’s also a good distraction talking to everyone here with so much going on.. Hello my darlings, so sorry about your news. Keeping fingers crossed that everything will be fine. Re the trees, , biologist here, they are lacking water, just them under the soil so they have gone into shock and dropped their leaves. They do this as they know that lack of water means they need to keep the trunk going with water so they forgo the leaves to be able to survive. It's quite normal when the weather is so extreme and they will come back again next year. I suspect their roots are not as deep as those trees around them or there is an underground water course under the others but not these. Have a safe trip back to the UK. x
They're mature tree's and should be rooted deeply enough to withstand temporary draught in Spain, there's an understorey of more shallowly rooted trees poss a different species present which looks ok. What species do you think the big tree's are? I'd have a guess at Cherries and put the primary driver (as often theres a knock on) i think is down to rapid drops in temperatures during late spring frost / freeze damage. There's earthworks about and water courses change overtime but i wouldn't expect to see lush green underneath. Any thoughts beyond waterstress?

Thanks so much for answering regarding the trees, that’s really interesting, we were kinda shocked how different it was to just 6 weeks previous, those trees were so lush and green but yeah totally makes sense as no rain and very hot in those parts from June to October.. While your in the UK you could pop in to see Greg at Tyres Direct near Milton Keynes and grab some Roadcruza all terrain tyres, about $400 fitted balanced etc, you wont have any problems getting stuck again - hope your sister get better Sarah - love/peace

Happen to my tree a few years ago. It was some kind of a. Beetle that attacked the roots. Luckily there was a cure. Some solution poured around the tree and absorbed by the roots. Tree is doing great now.

The van looks great, lots of clever adds. Good luck with your trip to UK. The trees look like elms, the leaves have been riddled by elm leaf beetle (at least that's what it would look like here in US). Trees drop the damaged leaves.
