It would have been nice for new people to know how to get a weak blood shard but since there is a jump in the video from tier 3 to tier 4 with no explanation as to how I will tell you. You need a bound sword. To get the sword you need to make a Binding Reagent and a Diamond Sword. You then put the Binding Reagent and Diamond Sword into a Alchemy Array. After you have the Bound Blade you then want to make it bound to you by activating it with a Shift-Right Click. The Bound tools use BLOOD from your personal network so be carefull and always make sure its activated only when you are using it or you will die. Now that your sword is activated go kill a few hostile mobs (or any mob I think) until you get a weak blood shard. Once you have a weak blood shard you need 1 Stone. Then craft them together and there you go. Large bloodstone is now yours. Go search for a guide on how to build the altar if you dont know how. P.S. It's the same as 1.7.10
I'd still like to see a version of the dowsing rod that you right-click on the altar, instead of a ritual stone, to get the next level of altar automatically built from items in your inventory.

Drain your life force to summon demons, consume nodes to cast spells and finally channel the power of flowers to become the ruler of nature. Now they just need to get some intangible and Witchery in there. Botania and Witchery already have similarities.
Honestly, I can see Intangible and Blood Magic playing VERY nicely together, once they start working on the compatibility addons. I can very much imagine allowing soul relays to be placed on the pillars of a blood altar along with certain rune configurations, allowing you to extract souls from sacrificed mobs
It would certainly be pretty nice. Kill a spider atop your blood altar with the sacrificial knife - it's body fuels the altar, and it's predatory soul enters the well nearby. I can also easily imagine cheaper and faster slate recipes using the soul forge, and possibly the ability to infuse soulbone armor in a blood magic binding ritual. Soulblood armor? Damn, imagine how cool the wings and armor spikes would look... and DAAAAAAAMN, Imagine how sweet it would get if you changed it to sentient. And you'd be able to infuse goggles of revealing into it as well, of course.

One question I have about the wills. Is there a way to transfer the wills from 1 gem to another? When I tried it in 1.8 when you upgraded a gem all the will in it was lost and I think a transfer mechanic would make the mod better.
+NobodyImportant In the late game you transfer most of the will into the atmosphere of the chunk and move it around like that, use it for rituals etc. And I believe there is a way to condense will from the atmosphere into a gem. If you're confused he'll most definitely cover that whole system in pt.2
+NobodyImportant you shift click on your old tartaric gem to fill the new one, this has been a feature for some time now :) This should be helpful since you really couldn't (or at least shouldn't) use you old & filled tartaric gem as an ingredient, it should be used as the "battery (for the hell fire forge)" :)

First experience with 1.9 Dire? I can tell. I curious how fast enough mods will update to 1.9 for me to skip my 1.8.9 pack idea and go right for post-1.9. In 1.9 you really couldn't spam click, but then in 1.9.1 you could kind of spam click, then in 1.9.2 they went back with no spam clicking, which I was thankful for, since it made things interesting again, thanks Mojang for a great game
can anyone tell me why I can't do the Well of Suffering ritual (in blood magic 1)? When I right click on the master ritual stone with my weak activation crystal, it just tells me I feel a slight pull but am unable to do anything further, or something like that. I have 100,000 LP in my personal network.

I still think that the old graphics for the sigils were better, since you can differenciate them more easily. Now they look more... muddy. Other then that though, i'm quite impressed with Way's fast porting of Blood Magic.
Are you using the Unity resource pack for Blood Magic? Or did the author officially change it to those textures? I do hope it's the latter, because I really love those textures over the original Blood Magic

Depends what you're looking for. Old Blood Magic worked well when paired with other mods, because it was an easy (relatively) way to get a lot of defensive capabilities along with some cool spells. BM2 is just...well...a more streamlined experience.

Does this mod still suffer with the issue of having to create LOTS of progressive slates? I hated just sitting around the altar making sure that the correct slates were being produced from the amount of LP inside, it was the equivalent of just watching a furnace cook a WHOLE stack of porkchops, but you had to babysit it incase it fucked up. Don't get me wrong, theres a lot of great content in the BM mod, but making all those slates was as tedious as watching paint dry.
I was really excited when i saw that there was going to be a new version of blood magic or at least that it was stopped all together as it was one of my personal favorites but this version is absolute crap compared to the one seven version its almost like the mod author took the better and fun parts of the mod out completely in an attempt to what i can only describe as fix what wasnt broken and you just dont do that especially when not only myself but many others liked blood magic the way it was previously especially now since progression in the mode has clearly become convoluted and just silly compared to how things in the mod followed a clear path previously not to mention that when you went through all that grinding to get the items from the mod bound armour included you actually got something worthwhile back out of it for the gameplay this is replaced by the living armour now i can only assume which once again is crap comparatively as its just isnt worth the work to get it anymore it just isnt that useful anymore not to mention it doesnt fulfil the same need previously the armour from the mod would block damage as long as you had the blood in your network this set no longer appears to function this way nor function in any useful manner for actual minecraft gameplay it only seems useful to the mod itself if your in a locked room with it which is really disappointing i had high hopes that even as minecraft went down the drains maybe the mods i liked would at least make up for it
I hope there would be a huge FTB modpack with HQM, to help me learn all this mods, without stories and other bullshit, just straight forward quest for all biggest mods.
Personally, I'd rather it was a series of modpacks each of which focuses on one mod or group of mods. Similar to how that bee one works that teaches how to do bees with a focus on the genetics mod. One giant modpack could be too cluttered.
Relax, I'm sure azanor will stabilize any unstable circles that Way has made, though I'm sure Way's circles are... mostly stable and... definitely won't destroy the world.........

Every time I create a sentient sword it shows as "deactivated" and only doing 2 damage. How do I activate it?

I was really excited when i saw that there was going to be a new version of blood magic or at least that it was stopped all together as it was one of my personal favorites but this version is absolute crap compared to the one seven version its almost like the mod author took the better and fun parts of the mod out completely in an attempt to what i can only describe as fix what wasnt broken and you just dont do that especially when not only myself but many others liked blood magic the way it was previously especially now since progression in the mode has clearly become convoluted and just silly compared to how things in the mod followed a clear path previously not to mention that when you went through all that grinding to get the items from the mod bound armour included you actually got something worthwhile back out of it for the gameplay this is replaced by the living armour now i can only assume which once again is crap comparatively as its just isnt worth the work to get it anymore it just isnt that useful anymore not to mention it doesnt fulfil the same need previously the armour from the mod would block damage as long as you had the blood in your network this set no longer appears to function this way nor function in any useful manner for actual minecraft gameplay it only seems useful to the mod itself if your in a locked room with it which is really disappointing i had high hopes that even as minecraft went down the drains maybe the mods i liked would at least make up for it
+TheDarkstonedangel I would consider that opinion, but considering there was not a single period in it I stopped reading a third of the way through.
I hope there would be a huge FTB modpack with HQM, to help me learn all this mods, without stories and other bullshit, just straight forward quest for all biggest mods.
Personally, I'd rather it was a series of modpacks each of which focuses on one mod or group of mods. Similar to how that bee one works that teaches how to do bees with a focus on the genetics mod. One giant modpack could be too cluttered.
