This chapter, Psalm 34, came up today...and I just had to share the song with my friend. This song cements the Spirit's Intent to protect us from the intentions of those who would do us harm...He is our Sword and Shield and we can Trust in Him and that's why we "Magnify the LORD" and "Bless the LORD at all times!" May we entrust our lives to Him eternally to His Name's Praise...
We can thank the LORD for giving us great Brothers and Sisters that help us make it through life's trials and tribulations...

Psalm 34. Wonder how David sang it. This is the version that is so amazing. One day I’ll ask David how he sang it. O magnify the Lord with me.

You might say...Roby was something from the pages of John the Baptist...Yeah, he would have been the one.I loved him as a Brother in Christ.I had such a pleasure being a DJ and playing his music in the 80s, getting to sing with him, go out to eat with him & watch him in concert...In his pureness, Roby loved many even though he was misunderstood with his dry humor & craziness at times.

Old time Chistian Album...you might try Maranatha Ministries Costa Mesa, Ca Chuck Smith's church. Chuck is gone now but his ministry brought many of these artists into their musical heritage thru the Lord of course...
      Paul Clark,
      Kelly Willard,
      Tommy Coombs,
      Chuck Gerrard...
      To name a few.
I dont know the inner workings of his work, I only know that at one time Maramatha Music had a hand in those folks.

Roby Duke: Sudden Departure (12/28/07)10:46 PM PSTPaso Robles, CA
I'm away from home until Sunday afternoon. This morning I got sad word that my friend Roby Duke died suddenly (details are forthcoming, but it appears it may have happened on Wednesday and discovered late Thursday night).

Does anyone know when he divorced? It seems there were hints of it in some of his lyrics going way back, but I think he had his son about the same time (per an album sleeve). I remember him mourning his father's death on a sleeve as well. His son toured with him after he grew up, IIRC.

Not sure, but I think it really took a toll on him. He was a precious gift to us all, and his music remains as a legacy for the church.

Bob Bennett wrote,"I've been excitedly telling folks for weeks the plans Roby and I had to collaborate on a Christmas album for Fall 2008. I have always had great admiration and love for him ... for his music and as a fellow traveler. In times like these, I am most afraid of saying something stupid, something shopworn, some pseudo-spiritual platitude tossed out carelessly.

Bob Bennett (cont) It might be a spot of pride on my part, but also the notion that I don't want to cheapen or minimize the difficulty of such a sudden and, by human horizontal-view standards, a tragic loss as this. I will only say again that I dearly loved this man. If you have heard him or ever met him, chances are very good you feel the same. Shortly after I found out, it was my difficult task (self-appointed, but necessary) to call Terry Clark about this...
