Glad I am fortunate enough to the shop at any time when I need more bug tying stuff. Every time I've been in, I've always seen the master behind the bench tying away.

Love fishing hoppers and the strikes they induce. I’ve always purchased them but after watching this video I may add it to the self-tie list. Really good camera work by Mr Nikon and the tying master wasn’t too shabby either…. thank-you for another easy to understand and informative tutorial….. I love free lessons! 👍

The wing design with stiffening is pretty cool idea. Might make my quill wings easier! Thanks!

Great tie as always from Charlie. I would be concerned how long the legs would last however.

Best pattern I’ve found for picky eaters. I’ll have to tie a bunch of these, since fish absolutely demolish this fly.

The older I get the more those white wing/indicators really help my fishing...I hate losing sight of my hopper dropper rig...

For those looking for the macrame’ tool, it’s also known as a crochet hook or a latch hook.

Also use for splicing hollow core braid in the offshore fishing world. They make latch needles in very small sizes for those purposes. Daho is the biggest brand name.

Thanks for the video Charlie! What do you use to coat your feathers?

Throw these on the south Platte after July 1st when ever you see a yellow god dang sally buzzing around. For instance, throw these now.

Hoppers and yellow sallies are pretty fucking close, from a fishes perspective. Also in the wind - obviously.

I found that tying the post out of synthetic material, such polypro. or polaraire makes for a quicker tie and one that will float much better. Calf body hair makes for a more attractive fly but that is about its only positive attribute.
