Thanks man, bought the shield and had no clue this needed done until i plugged it in to find out the hard way, got a PS3 controller flying an rc plane now
Hi I get an error uploading sketch to arduino saying. classUSB has no member named ctrlReq SETUP: did you mean ctrlReq. . If i copy your video will it eradicate that error? I have watched 3 of your videos and thank you for your know how
@@ahchannel2014 Thank you very much my friend for the quick reply. i have soldered the 3.3 volts and 5 volts as in your video but still i am getting the same error. I have tried to upload sketches so many times now, but i appreciate your reply, all the best :)
I bought a USB host shield and soldered it myself. There was no power at all I tried to charge my phone with it, plug in my mouse, etc. Then I bought a pre-soldered one from ebay and the solder looks good. No power either Trying this on an Arduino Leonardo
hey i followed the steps. But i am encountering an issue. When i plug in anything into the host shield (Phone for example), i have the shield and leonardo connected to laptop, it appears in devices, but as soon as i plug the phone usb into host shield, the device just disappears from the device list.. and it has no power also
@@ahchannel2014 yes i soldered everything, so when i plug arduino + leonardo into the pc, pc sets up the lonardo and discovers it on COMM 6. but if i plug something into host shield, loonardo disappears from the device list..
@@temzeks for beginners maybe its better to put small pins to bridge those connection but if you can bridge or solder it without using those metal parts why not.

ok if you bought new set of arduino and usb host shield you must solder or put jumper on 3.3 volts and 5 volts, watch the video my friend 😉

@@temzeks arduino leonardo is different, it has micro usb port.. try to change usb cable
@@ahchannel2014 yes but the leonardo works, the usb shield is acting up, making it disappear when something is connected to it :D
@@temzeks try shorter cable if you have from laptop to arduino , it may have lack of power.
