A 1984 remake with different actors (cause most of them died or are too old) and actual 1984 technology. For example: The Military uses M939 trucks and a few people have a 70s Retro television in their home.
I never skip this ad. I’ve been conditioned to turn my head at the screen when I hear the static. This legit gives me the freakiest feeling of euphoria, it goes so hard.

@@annastacia2593 no problem. Honestly, I find it kinda hard to get into story podcasts. Most of the time it's just not enough balance between narrating, dialogue, and some form of imaginative execution. I think Edge Of Sleep and this version of 1984 does it best, but that's just my opinion.

There's no need and it would weaken the meaning. The whole point is that the Party is eternal. They have always been and always will be. People's struggles against them are ephemeral and fleeting, and with the Party's control of history - unremembered.
Gives goosebumps; stands up hair on back of neck. The realization that ... this is now our life. When Orwell wrote this book, he wrote it thinking of us watching this trailer, and getting goosebumps.
This was an incredible adaptation. I was familiar with the themes of the source material but wasn’t aware of exactly how horrifying the plot gets. I planned on going to sleep listening, I ended up staying up half the night just shook to the core. Amazing performances and sound engineering. Just don’t expect it to be a bedtime story 😅

This is a real good adaptation, with the atmosphere and the music. I was slightly disappointed with Andrew Scott unfortunately because I think he's usually great and initially he was, but once he got into MiniLuv he became too openly gleeful and sadistic. When I read the book at school and since then I'd always pictured him as a dispassionate school teacher type, calmly explaining the situation to Winston in an almost regretful tone whilst also assuring him that no, there is no escape and the Party will succeed. Richard Burton did it brilliantly.

@@GcubePlayer8 Maybe it was intentionally using older footage as a means of calling back to the times of the war for some reason? Kind of like a film showing older footage from an older war? I’m not entirely sure
Acting like 1984 is strictly anti-Soviet (going by the imagery, emphasis on "comrade") is itself such a funny act of propaganda from an American company that I had to make my way over here to post my regards. How many countries are we in the NATO-sphere hassling with warfare? How many charismatic leaders do we have coming in over the screen to inform us of the limits of reasonable thought? How quickly is the surveillance state expanding with the implementation of AI into all of the online services and tools we use? The subtle West versus East chauvinism is hilarious and wrong. The book, while coloured by the ironic authoritarian derangement of Bolshevism in its time, is ultimately about the State versus the People, and the NATO countries are not exempt from its criticisms when studied today. They have become the evil they said they were protecting us from.
@@etnoballium4516 I know but is it changed they have a habit of taking things out and from one of the reviews ive read its heavily altered so iguess that answers my question.
