Thank you for the tip! A couple members of our family can't eat lemon so we won't be able to use it in our home, but I'm sure that your suggestion will be helpful for others that are watching!😊
I sprouted my grains for Passover/the feast of Unleavened Bread a couple years ago because I obviously wasn’t doing my sourdough starter that week. You’re right! It’s really not difficult to do. I think for me, it was hand grinding to flour that was a little daunting and that made me not want to do it again. Haha (I have the same mill as you!) I’m so glad you brought sprouted grains to my attention again. I do need to do it more often. Thanks!! Blessings!! 😃
@@heartofthehomestead haha That’s true! 😛 But it’s not so bad if you go ‘slow and steady.’ I just mucked the chicken coop/yard yesterday, so my arms really are not up for something like that today. But, usually ‘slow and steady’ is the way to get it done, IMO. Haha
Thank you for this video. I never understood how the sprouting to milling process worked until now. And your video format was inviting and relaxing to watch.
Thanks!! I havent made a video in a while but I appreciate the comment. You played a big part in those tzittzit I'm wearing in the video. Your videos helped me alot in the early days of transitioning to keeping Torah. Many Blessings!
Fermenting the sprouted grains is also important for best nourishment and appropriately minimizing anti-nutrients from the grains. Grinding and additional water is added for the fermenting.
Thank you for making this beautiful video! If you wanted to just have them as a cooked whole grain would you boil them, but with less water? Or steam them??
Thank you. Beautiful video. Is making sourdough bread to reduce anti nutrients different process than soaking and then grinding... Do you need to soak grains to make the sourdough bread you mentioned in your video? Thank you
What grains do you Sprout that you wete showing I just ordered my hard red spring wheat I want to order hard red white wheat and other grains for breads and such
Can’t you just skip the dehydrating part and mix the grains right away with the right amount of water to make the dough ? Or would that be too much water necessary to be able to blend it properly?
Looking way to I enhance my bird’s diet and that way enhancing my own too, can one dry the soaked/sprouted grain after sprouting? Doesn’t it defeat the propose of sprouting? This makes me happy because I would love to be able to make a super healthy dry mix with freeze dried veggies for him instead of the commercial ultra processed pellets. You can definitely give sprouted grain and lentils (and mung beans, adzuki beans, peas, chickpea and garbanzo beans as well) to your cute chickens! I bet their body will love it. That is lovely! I really like your natural looking stone counter though - what stone is it?
Get the sprouted mix from the pet store to sprout seed for your birds. Lots more variety in that mix and mostly dark seed that contains more protein. You can just freeze them after done so you don’t have to dehydrate. Grains are more of an option for folks to add the great benefits and avoid the issues with digestion for some
You just dehydrate the grains after you have sprouted them. It breaks down some elements that are hard for some of us to digest. I do it with some of my nits especially almonds. Much more digestible.
Hello, I am soaking and sprouting my wheat berries and doing my own bread. But doing bolo type breads has been a challenge using only sprouted flour because I do not want to add any additives (many recipes add eggs, vital gluten, or part non sprouted flour) Do you have a recipe for your bread using only sprouted flour? I think I am mastering mine using a mix of white and red hard berries (more red than white because using only white was a total disaster ) but I saw your video and I wondered about your recipe. Thanks!

You can also add a few lemon drops in the water. That makes the process faster. Very useful video and beautifully made! ♥️

What is the best process for spouting beans - mine spoil somewhere in the process...thanks,
Sour dough please
great video! after you dehydrate the grain, do you eat it raw or cook it like in a rice cooker?
Can I store sprouted grains like I do my unsprouted ones? And does sprouting change the flavor? Thanks!
What grains do you Sprout that you wete showing I just ordered my hard red spring wheat I want to order hard red white wheat and other grains for breads and such
Thanks 🇨🇦
What if you don’t have a dehydrator?
You could try drying them on a sheet pan in your oven on a low temp (under 150°f) for 12+ hours. I haven't tried it myself but I hear that it works.
Beautiful 😍

What kind of grain are you using?
This time I was using spelt 😁
Where do you get the grain? Do you grow it?

ruclips.net/video/1RH2rhwt1qU/видео.html I haven't tried this recipe yet but it seems to be just sprouted grains, nothing added.
What grain are you using in this episode?
Can you tell me if you ever sprouted oat groats? I am having difficulty doing them
Groats don't have the hull. Many times a seed won't sprout with it's hull removed. The hull is often shed in the sprouting process.
