The Pikachu talking scene really had caught me offguard like everyone else when it happened. But I do think that actually the idea behind it was that, since Ash was already on the verge of dying in the scene, Pikachu "talking" was more like a visualisation of what he believed it said. Either that or he straight up hallucinated it talking his language when it was just saying pika pi like usual xD
I like to think it was his aura trying to save him in his last moments, and it caused him to feel Pikachu's emotions and know what Pikachu was thinking.

But nothing about Eternal happiness. Eternal happiness thing came out in fourth generation pokedex. So I don't think they planned out that far in the anime. Him having eternal happniess is just a bad theory.

Aside from plot points where in order to get as much bank from the series for as long as possible, Ash's journey would have ended earlier than what it has. (but they had to bring a g'dmd latios into the league fight to make him lose and continue the series). And the pokemom tears bit has a lore behind it. Something about wishes or life force or something.
In *lukcario and the mystery of mew* it was shown that ash may be the descendant of saint Erin, though only shown in that movie that ash has the power of arora, he could be the reincarnated Erin.
I Choose You had me crying because when I got the movie, I was already an emotional wreck. I had gotten fired from my job out of spite because they wanted to get rid of my foreman and make me the new foreman (so he took me out first through some shenanigans that made him immune to reproductions), my girlfriend who I had moved in with literally the day before I got fired had to support me, and I thought I would never find a job in my current town as good as the one I had. I basically alternated balling between I Choose You, Ponyo, and The Wind is Rising. But I Choose You is special because it reminded me that even when times seem tough, you just gotta pull yourself together and push on for the ones you love and care about
About the revival tears there's something we got robbed in the english dub. In the original version of the movie there's a 10 min intro, that explains Mew, Mewtwo's origins and the scientist who cloned him. Also how he came to hate the Humans so much, and in the short, it's explained why Pokemon tears have that healing ability.
Theory: what if ash didn’t get revived in I Choose You? Pickachu’s super attack at the end could have been so powerful that it kills pickachu himself and then those two getting reunited in heaven or something and ‘continuing’ their journey.

The reason Pokemon tears revived ash is because the series has a mythical essance behind the mystery of Pokemon. This is why Mew is so iconic. Despite being psychic, Mew has unknown abilities that defy the understanding of what we know of Pokemon. The creators tied this well by saying in gen 1 how little people know about the Pokemon world. Ash not dying is on par with the mysterious nature of Legendary pokemon like Ho Ho. That is why the original revial was so amazing. People were able to see how mysterious the power of Pokemon was. Also, Ash is an underline chosen hero that predates himself just like how Kaiba from Yugioh was a descendant of some one from the past. Ash was in an ancient prophecy in Pokemon 2000. That means that at some point people knew someone like Ash would return. How many other trainers encounter as much Legendaries as Ash?

Having granted Ash eternal happiness (immortality and therein preventing Ash from aging) all because Ho-Oh recognized him after having saved Pikachu the first time. Only those who are willing to give up their lives in order to save others will be blessed with the gift of eternal happiness. So whenever you think that Ash's about to die, know that he'll be back again not thanks to all the other Pokémon (excluding Ho-Oh, of course) but because of the strength of his heart that Ho-Oh will be the guardian of.

Technically, Ash has only died about two times in the main series, including the pre-20th films. His first death being in "The Tower of Terror", and his second, and arguably his most iconic, during the first movie. His other "deaths" aren't really "deaths" and more just close calls -- Almost getting "devoured" by those blob-things in the 8th movie, almost drowning in the 9th movie, and being asphyxiated and almost freezing to death in both versions of the 14th movie. His alternate universe/movie counterpart has only died once in the 20th film. Thought I would just point these out. Great video btw. Edit: Also, for the people coming up with some crazy theory about linking Ash's deaths with his age "resetting"? The writing staff have blatantly said that Ash [and the rest of the cast in the anime] will always remain the same age, no matter what. Aside from plot points where in order to get as much bank from the series for as long as possible, Ash's journey would have ended earlier than what it has. (but they had to bring a g'dmd latios into the league fight to make him lose and continue the series).
And the pokemom tears bit has a lore behind it. Something about wishes or life force or something.
In *lukcario and the mystery of mew* it was shown that ash may be the descendant of saint Erin, though only shown in that movie that ash has the power of arora, he could be the reincarnated Erin.

I Choose You had me crying because when I got the movie, I was already an emotional wreck. I had gotten fired from my job out of spite because they wanted to get rid of my foreman and make me the new foreman (so he took me out first through some shenanigans that made him immune to reproductions), my girlfriend who I had moved in with literally the day before I got fired had to support me, and I thought I would never find a job in my current town as good as the one I had. I basically alternated balling between I Choose You, Ponyo, and The Wind is Rising. But I Choose You is special because it reminded me that even when times seem tough, you just gotta pull yourself together and push on for the ones you love and care about

About the revival tears there's something we got robbed in the english dub. In the original version of the movie there's a 10 min intro, that explains Mew, Mewtwo's origins and the scientist who cloned him.
Also how he came to hate the Humans so much, and in the short, it's explained why Pokemon tears have that healing ability.

You know, the fact that Ash has died 6 times makes each death feel less impactful, especially when he's revived 2 minutes later.
Theory: what if ash didn’t get revived in I Choose You? Pickachu’s super attack at the end could have been so powerful that it kills pickachu himself and then those two getting reunited in heaven or something and ‘continuing’ their journey.

I think I can speak for everyone who saw I Choose You in theaters when we all collectively screamed "WHAT??? NO." when Pikachu spoke English. So many Pokemon fans completely incredulous, myself included. I'm so happy I was there to witness it with everyone lol.

The reason Pokemon tears revived ash is because the series has a mythical essance behind the mystery of Pokemon. This is why Mew is so iconic. Despite being psychic, Mew has unknown abilities that defy the understanding of what we know of Pokemon. The creators tied this well by saying in gen 1 how little people know about the Pokemon world. Ash not dying is on par with the mysterious nature of Legendary pokemon like Ho Ho. That is why the original revial was so amazing. People were able to see how mysterious the power of Pokemon was. Also, Ash is an underline chosen hero that predates himself just like how Kaiba from Yugioh was a descendant of some one from the past.
Ash was in an ancient prophecy in Pokemon 2000. That means that at some point people knew someone like Ash would return. How many other trainers encounter as much Legendaries as Ash?

Ho-Oh is the true mvp of this show. Having granted Ash eternal happiness (immortality and therein preventing Ash from aging) all because Ho-Oh recognized him after having saved Pikachu the first time. Only those who are willing to give up their lives in order to save others will be blessed with the gift of eternal happiness. So whenever you think that Ash's about to die, know that he'll be back again not thanks to all the other Pokémon (excluding Ho-Oh, of course) but because of the strength of his heart that Ho-Oh will be the guardian of.

That was Pikachu. Yveltal hit Pikachu on his tail with Oblivion Wing and he was the one who turned to stone [being a reversal of what happened in the first movie].

No. Out of the entire Hoenn group, only Max was the one who made any sort of wish to Jirachi, and even then, he barely wished for anything and it was more Jirachi doing its own thing until the time came for it to sleep again.
You made me cry in all of them and thinking that i can't cry to them anymore... I watched them like 20 times!! All sad parts.
Technically, Ash has only died about two times in the main series, including the pre-20th films. His first death being in "The Tower of Terror", and his second, and arguably his most iconic, during the first movie. His other "deaths" aren't really "deaths" and more just close calls -- Almost getting "devoured" by those blob-things in the 8th movie, almost drowning in the 9th movie, and being asphyxiated and almost freezing to death in both versions of the 14th movie.
His alternate universe/movie counterpart has only died once in the 20th film. Thought I would just point these out. Great video btw.
Edit: Also, for the people coming up with some crazy theory about linking Ash's deaths with his age "resetting"? The writing staff have blatantly said that Ash [and the rest of the cast in the anime] will always remain the same age, no matter what. Time has, according to them, stayed "frozen" [in other words, the passage of time is merely just a "tool" and not an actual "law" in the anime's universe].
