In this video you can find, summit1g FFXIV, FF14, Final Fantasy XIV, Quin69 ff14, FFXIV is just awful, ff14 first impression, is ffxiv good, summit1g reacts, summit1g reaction, and much more!
quin is what most of the xiv community thought asmongold would be
Truest words have never been spoken
A hundred percent.
If he gave the game a fair shot like Asmond many of the community, not all of course, would respect his opinion in the story or gameplay of ffxiv. I would.
But as it stands, he literally skipped the story and class tutorials and claims the story sucked and gameplay was awful.
I would respect that opinion had he bothered to go through some of the story at least to get context and took the time to learn how to play.
@@aeolussvichi7680 what happend to all the people that said to they were just happy that asmon would try ff14 even if he would shit on it? guess that only counts for asmon lol
I was just about to comment the same thing. All the gatekeeping done by the FF community (I mean, only a handful of them) against Asmongold were probably expecting the very reactions Quin had. Instead he's made it super entertaining reading all the quest texts and actually getting engrossed into the story, and that's all pre HW too! I can only imagine how much more fun he'll have with the newer stories and the different locales.
I am sorry, but the Twitter XIV community isn't "most of the XIV community" lol
Fun fact you probably have a 0% chance to get healed if your hp goes from full to 0 in 0.9 seconds
completely oblivious to standing in two aoes...
...but it was the healers fault.
I mean hell, his max HP was 39,174
The lightning aoe that's on each player did 18k. First fireball did 40k, second did 48k. Even with an Astro's shield he wouldn't have survived. Hell, even with a critlo he wouldn't have survived that.
He... was in 3 aoes. The lightning one on all parties, then the two fire ones.
"Where were the heals??!"
Ah, yes. As a Scholar main myself, I often forget that I have a spell that heals for 2,000,000 HP.
@D L Nononnono the wow way is blame the dps tank is always right, heal better listen to tank or he will pull all mobs then leave group).
Quinn's issue is that not that he didn't give the game a fair chance but is becuz he acted like he did when he didn't.
Agreed, if he’d have just said “It’s a big time dump for me right now” nobody would’ve said a 2nd thing. 🤣
Summit doesn't like reading in games too, even voice acted games he tend to abandon as well. For example, look at Witcher 3 that he didn't even finish. Surprised he got through FFXIV even though he looked bored on reading parts.
@@Litheas That understandable, I remember skipping every unvoiced cutscene back when I started, I stopped around Heavensward when the game stops the expositions dumps
That's a point asmongold didn't quite understand (at least as far as i got to know about his take). You can quit a game whenever you want, that was never the issue.
For example i have no time to spend on genshin impact, so i'm skipping every piece of dialogue and going straight to the grind. Now do i think it's story is bad? idk i didn't read it, there's no place for me to review this
Bullshit. I agree with Quinn, it's game for weeb femboys and catgirs.

yea he said that on his stream coz the gobble cutscene from alexander raid...

@@Venosyne both of these are fucking great! lmao.
Quinn basically did what Lazy Peon did back when Stormblood came out. The internet reacted in exactly the same way.
Lazypeon was worse for me. He is a MMO youtuber. Gets paid for his shitty opinion on MMOs and doesn't even play them.
@@oACDCo He's a first impression youtuber mostly though. He doesn't really do full on reviews often. The criticism against his video was fair tbh, but so was a lot of his opinions. But FFXIV has a habit of raging over any negative criticism it gets. Even though I agree Quinn69 and some others gave it unfair reviews.
@@Littlecowardgaming That's because people who play Final Fantasy know that it is an excellent game and because of that, we love it, so it is annoying when people say false things about it. We don't even care if you don't like it, but if your criticism is not factual then of course people will let you know, some more aggressively than others.
As it happens, ignorance invites backlash. You seem to be repeating what some streamers have said without thinking more about it, rather taking the lazy route to repeat "the final fantasy community " approach instead. If some congressman showed up to congress with a snowball and said that it is proof that global warming is not real, would you also say "OMG why does the snow ball community have a habit of raging over any negative criticism it gets?!"
You and Asmongold are literally attributing "backlash for someone saying non-sense" to "OMG why is the FINAL FANTASY community sooo toxiccc". You would both be wrong.
@@VaioletteWestover FF14 is ok. The fact that the MMORPG genre is in such a poor state means it looks better by comparrison. It's not that great though.
@@RealmDesigner Shadowbringers beat Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VI, and all other Final Fantasies as the best game in the series. So I think it is pretty great.
Your subjective opinion can be different of course, but the general public nearly unanimously agree that Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers are excellent.
I also don't know what you are trying to say with your qualifier. Mmorpgs today are leaps and bounds better than any era that came before. Are you sure you are not speaking with heavily rose tinted glasses on?
Finally, FFXIV is praised because it is commonly known as an RPGMMO, it is loved because it is an excellent game that has online elements, not because "other MMOs are bad".
So based on these point, I think you've not played the game and are playing devil's advocate with incomplete information or understanding of why Final Fantasy is loved.

This wasn't Quinn's type of game. And that's fine for him to not like or hate it. But you can't say the story is shit if you didn't actually read the story. He probably didn't want to play the game, but did it for the twitch bandwagon.
He’s a wow player so he does play mmo’s
Exactly. I'm fine with people not liking the game. People have their own taste. But what he did was skipped the game, skipped the story, skipped the tutorials to the point of not even knowing the controls essentially, then proceeded to say all of the stuff he skipped is indeed shit. Like what? You're allowed to have an opinion, but you don't have one because you didn't even go through any of it, you just made it up. Lol
@@ShinyUmbreon106 He's more of a APRG mindless grind type of guy. He's played WoW, sure, but who hasn't. His two main games were D3 and now PoE.
@@ShinyUmbreon106 - Being a veteran WoW player does not excuse skipping everything and saying the story sucked when he experienced nothing. That's not an opinion. That's a barefaced lie in front of a whole room of viewers.
An example of an honest opinion would be from someone like Bellular who, as of now, is still on ARR content and says the starting levels feel sluggish and are a bit of a chore to go through, and that the combat he experienced so far doesn't feel as tight or as fluid as in WoW.
@@kuyt20 Well the story is actually shit I dont blame him. You ff14 fanboys tend to overhype the story in expansions way too much when the story in these expansions is barelly mediocre.
its perfectly alright to not like the game but when you give a shoddy "review" on twitter about the game and said the story is shit without actually doing it no shit people are gonna take issue with that
Yeah, people keep thinking the community is mad at him because he didn't like the game, but it is really about posting a review without even giving it a fair shot. Boosting through the story at Lvl 18? Not learning the job and mechanics properly. Blaming the players and game? It just misrepresents the game itself. People love FFXIV and don't want it getting shit on by someone well-known because it could affect the potential community. Me personally, I just get slightly irritated at first and mostly laugh afterwards, but I can understand people getting mad. It reminds me of book reviews I've looked up where the reviewer says, "This author is trash, I will never read a book written by this person." How is that a valid review? Lol. A part of me is starting to think that it really was just a troll move like some people mentioned.
Yes because he just want to hate the game, and that's all he knows ff14 is popular and have dadicated fanbase so why not shit over it to make them triggered, he wants attention, it always happens when something is so popular because it amazing there is always people hating on it to get attention without give it a chance
you just summed up almost every ign review ever.
I made it to heavenly Squidward and was bored out of my mind. I never cared about the story at all so it was a pretty big drag making it all the way there, even skipping. Also dungeoning felt so underwhelming since you got most levelling gear through poems. I like grinding dungeons to power up. Oh and can't forget the classic you didn't do anything yet but since you main dragoon you're bad hehehehehe 20th time I heard the joke never gets old.
@@aelix56
You clearly don't like the game, and this is alright, no one forces you to like it. But what pisses people off is when you run around preaching how "FF14 is the worst game to have ever existed" when you have no ground to stand on and you are actively trying to stop other people from trying it on social media if not downright shame them for trying it... "I don't get the hype, you people stupid" kind of attitude...
Never played wow, i am not interested, never was but i am not running around screaming around how "shietty" WoW is. I will criticize the devs all day tho, giving the recent lawsuit against them, turn out the dev been trash for decades.
On the clip where Quin yells "I pressed jump" he didn't have Elusive Jump on his action bar lol. He pressed the wrong jump and probably too late anyway.
In defense of his intentions on that specific instance, any forced movement abilities in this game cancel knockbacks; all dashes, gapclosers, and even normal DRG Jump/High Jump will kill whatever momentum you have. Note that this isn't me saying he's not an asshat, just that if he was better at the game, the thing he wanted to do would've worked.
It's even funnier because Alte Roite is arguably the easiest raid boss ever. Like, world first clear did it in one pull.
Most people could clear Savage Alte Roite in one lockout on day one in PUGS! PUGS!

Quin is an example of why streamers should stream and leave reviews to journalist.
His mods calls him out every day. Its a part of the stream, nothing unusual.
I like the idea of journalists being any better at reviewing games lol
I wonder why a level 16 dungeon isn't fun for experience MMO players
not only do you have to read wow's story, you have to DIG for that shit.
Don't forget about the books. In some cases it's the only way to find out what happened and learn more details.
@@Jwalker1919 i believe that was implied in "DIG for that shit"
@@keorei Well if you're here correcting others: Digging for something in a game implies digging *within* that game. Something you have to find after months of searching. Books on the other hand? I don't see how that would be applicable. It's the equivalent of digging for it in the one spot you were told (in game) then being told you have to go to a completely different location to dig for it (outside of the game, bookstores, etc).
@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 no it doesnt
Big true. That being said, the lore/story in WoW is actually probably the best thing about the game. There have been a lot of compelling sub-stories told within the lore of WoW... even the main story lines are quite flushed out and well developed MOST of the time. A lot of people sleep on the WoW stories/lore, but it's quite good.... nowhere near to the extent that people sleep on Destiny 2 story though... that game has some of the best and most undervalued storytelling in the last few decades.

I played FF14 to end game in the end I saw most of the FF14 community just boosted and felt like I wasted my time. This whole play the story through bs is a lie that 2 percent of FF players stick to.
because in WoW majority of players skip dialogues and RUclips for TLDR. that is why some lore content creators milk the shit and able to make a living because of them.
in FF we play the game like single player for story.
I'm pretty sure if you ask literally anyone in game, in community discords, in public forums that majority goes through the story. The 'boost' you're referring to is probably boost leveling alts jobs when they've already cleared the story.
@@garpten7772 what server are you playing on where 98% of the player population boost through the story? Legitimately curious, I’ve only seen people boost for alts or on the rare occasion when people are like Quin and too impatient to enjoy the ride of leveling. Also how are you confirming they boosted? If you’re just looking at gear, the augmented Scaeven gear can easily be bought with tomestones of allegory that you get just from doing your daily roulettes, dungeons, and raids and considering that you can level all the jobs on one character and gear can be shared along multiple jobs having tanking sets, healing sets, melee sets, etc in storage for when you want to level said jobs is just good forethought.
the moment quin69 skipped msq story entirely is the moment all of his credibility went out the window, you cant criticize the story of another game if you never even played the story. and as far as i can tell the only reason quin got anywhere in wow was because he was literally being carried by everyone he plays with, which meant that he never learned a damn thing about how to git gud, it shows very harshly when he played duties in ffxiv, its so bad that its embarrassing to watch... his lack of common sense with literally the most choreographed boss attacks in existence, and his absolutely horrendous reaction time makes even boomers look good.
Buying a skip in ffxiv without having played the game in full or having experience with a class beforehand and expecting to jump into raids and be fine is the equivalent of having no experience with playing an instrument or reading sheet music but signing up for a concert you just will have no clue what your doing.
Apart from the story the length of it and the grind helps you get familiar with the class you play
Exactly, im so fed up with this half ass review. i started 2-3 months ago and have acheived my standards for my characters look and who he is. early on I when hit 30 I was starting to get discouraged with my characters prog and the story. I was a bloody au ra SMN for christ sakes. I like close melee combat and i was a bit upset with some of the au ra animations but i genuinely wanted to change so i was contemplating on even continuing this game because i thought id have to restart. But i powered through ARR, got me that fantasia and picked up SAM and thats when i truly felt free from that content lock. Quinn just really didnt want to discipline himself which i dont understand because in almost every MMO you play you are disciplining yourself to continue the journey until you truly start to enjoy the journey. Also I think part of him just wanted to be cool and say how "overrated it is".
Thats a bit invalid
Most ffxiv content doesnt train you in your job properly either. Boosting to 70, questing to 80 and spending 5 to 6 hours practicing a rotation on a training dummy, and boss mechanics in trials will teach you just as well how to play your class.
I sure as shit didnt learn fuck about actual endgame ninja play through leveling, but I learned enough about monk to raid in under 8 hours after boosting and hitting 80
And you DEFINITELY arent learning a job like summoner or black mage by leveling, those jobs are learned in the fires of hard and extreme trials or raids
Games just really not that good. At all. Compared to eso or even bless unleashed? Nah. Not up to par. The questing is good. Thats it. Worst targeting system ive ever used, terrible scaling. I just think it's funny that whenever the ffxiv community speaks their opinions on people shitting on there game (for dumb reasons) it's "Toxic", but whenever its the other group shitting on the community or game its okay. This is the most childish behavior i have ever seen even on the internet, and even if he's just trolling or acting it doesn't change the fact that this sort of attitude is not good for the gaming world as a whole and it ruins any credibility he had in my eyes.

Honestly, I don't agree. He leveled to 18, didn't like it, boosted to endgame to see if he'd like it, and he didn't. All his negative comments about the game should be viewed through this lens, but instead people are just laughing that he's bad at the game(which is a bannable offense if you do in-game, but the FFXIV community are suddenly all toxic elitists outside of the game) and that he would've liked it if he just bothered playing through 100+ hours of story, which are just bad responses tbh.
If a game doesn't capture people in the first 5 hours of playing, in my opinion, it's doing something wrong, and I say this as someone who leveled during Heavensward when post 2.0 ARR MSQ was a disgusting slog, but I still love the game.

You can have an opinion but you need to be fully prepared to face consequences if your opinion was shoddily put together in an attempt to make bank off of hype. He legitimately is bad at the game cuz he skipped essentially the major learning curve of the game and never got used to his full kit. Ask any person who boosted an unfamiliar class. He did that all the while skipping 80% of the story AND not learning the basics of combat. You don't skip to the end of the book after not liking the first few chapter and expect to like it more. That's just stupid.
hardcore player adhd in a nutshell
Quinn became a joke for everybody not because he "didn't liked FFXIV", but because he talked shit about a game that he had no idea what's going on being extremally biased and ignorant on his points, things like talk about the Story/Lore that he don't know a thing cuz he boosted, talk about mechanics that he didn't learned cuz he boosted, blame other people for his own mistakes ( dying on mechanics that he claimed that didn't had in the game ) and many other things that he said, that was the reason why everyone now, FFXIV players or not, see Quinn as a clown.

Quin got shit on not because he didn't like the game, but because he boosted, made no attempt to try and learn and then blamed the game/said the game was shit.
If he just said 'look its not for me, I tried but it's not for me,' he wouldn't have gotten even close to the push back.
Try, quit, but don't shit on the game.
Also he just doesn't seem that bright anyway so probably difficult for him to express himself.

Quin wouldn't have gotten shit on if he'd been genuine with his playthrough. But he went into it already of the opinion it was bad, paid attention to literally none of the tips, learned precisely nothing about his character and then boosted only to get crushed in content he was in no way prepared to handle. He never really gave it an honest chance and the FF14 community called him out on it.
"Its hard to give FF14 a fair shot, its a time dump after all" Its an MMO, that's what its supposed to be!
Especially when it’s like 4 massive expansions deep.
The thing is when I first played WoW I loved it right from the start, played new world and loved it right away, played FF and i did not like it whatsoever, how come other games can be enjoyable for me right away and yet FF has to be a slog and boring af until i reach a certain point?
@@FimbongBass You've played WoW when it was relatively new and was probably your first MMO, new world is in closed beta and FF14 is 3 expansions deep and has 8 years of content. How are all these remotely similar experiences?
@@FimbongBass Funny, for me it was the opposite, i did not enjoy playing wow until i started raiding in MoP, classic/tbc/wotlk/cata are just a slugfest devoid of content, trivial quests and boring combat.
Why did i play wow then? Gf wanted to play with me so i complied in exchange for making her play other games with me.
Raiding in WoW is fun, the rest was just way too boring until they introduced m+ even tho SL ruined m+
FFXIV on the other hand, i started playing after the MS2 fiasco, and have enjoyed every bit, the lore, the questing, dungeons, raids AND all the social aspects of it which games like WoW have no social aspect whatsoever, despite it being the main draw for mmo players. (Hell, the only social aspect WoW had was looking for party/raid/guild members in towns but now even guilds are automatized, meaning you don't interact anymore so goodbye to the only social mechanic)

> continuing to form various twitter opinions about the story after you've already been caught lying
Man, is this guy _trying_ to farm hate??? I've never even played FFXIV, and even I'm trying to figure out how this dude is so surprised at the backlash from the FF community lol. Like, _of course_ people are mad, you basically wrote/filmed a hit-piece while also showing how little you cared to even educate yourself on the thing you're lambasting. And then you expect people to respect your tenure as a WoW player, like that means anything at all when you can't get along with one of the nicest mmo communities around. Again, I don't play, but I've definitely caught wind of the FFXIV community which is a real testament to just how neighborly everyone is.
"Wow Story beats FF14 by a mile."
"Lack of RPG mechanics / Character customization"
As WoW refugee myself, never in my life have i heard and seen such bullshit.
Granted i am not that deep in the FF14 story, yet. But over 10 years of wow experience tell me that the Story of WoW in the past couple of years, namely the last 2 Expansions, has taken a turn for the worst. Like, i mean absolute Dogshit. In the Last Addon alone Blizz took one of the most powerful antagonists WoW ever had (And they hyped him up like no tomorrow) and got rid of him in one single Patch.
In an Expansion that was all over the place story wise (they legit 1:1 copy pasted the story progress from a earlier addon, but just made it bad somehow. Yes Blizzard fucked up copying their own homework). They took a Antagonist that EASILY could've served as the big bad for an ENTIRE ADDON (Like Arthas, or Illidan) and blew through him in one Raid, copy pasted the Lord of the Ring "Saurons Fall" and called it a day.
And that is just the tip of the Iceberg, it gets far worse.
I doubt FF14 gets to that Level of bad writing. Not even GoT season 8 got to *that* point.
If i didn't know any better i would say that Quinn guy is on Blizzards payroll.
The alternative would be that he is in fact one dumb Son of a B...
I feel in order for some people/players to feel justified in giving their game opinion they are being disingenuous at best in order to do so given how everything is almost always a social reaction. If you do or don’t like something, just say it is or isn’t for you but you gave it your best shot. Don’t come off saying I cheated to the end with a skip and then say the game sucks, because in FF14, the leveling is much the content and unlocking and learning to play your job.
I mean... some people feel the need to embark on a crusade against game they don't like or care about, instead of just saying FF14 isn't for them, they try their best to convince as many people as possible to not play the game as if it was the worst game in existence, and they base those opinions on grounds they simple cannot stand on, like skipping the whole story line and calling it trash on social media, or going in blind into savages raid with no knowledge of anything nor of the most basic mechanics and blaming others.
Yes, such dim witted and narrow minded people sadly exist.
I don't know who Quinn is, but he seems like a contrarian who finds the things that people are loving simply to hate it because it gets a reaction or, in this case, views. It's a very sad and cringe lifestyle, and if anyone has ever met that type of person in real life, they know just how annoying they are to be around.
I mean, it's an MMO, everyone is aware that it's a timesink going into it I'd argue :)
Sometimes, a game just doesn't warrant that level of time commitment from us, be it because it's bad, or because it's just not our personal cup of tea from the get-go. But if someone doesn't have the patience or interest to actually experience the game, they don't get to claim that they did imo.
If I read the first 20 pages of the first Harry Potter book and then play the final endboss of a Harry Potter game on a friend's save and fail at it, I don't get to say I know enough about the Harry Potter franchise to be able to tell that it sucks ;)
The only good that came from this is that Quin gave FFXIV money then quitting right after.
Almost all of the wow story is in external books in the newest expansion. It sounds like he was forced to play and didn’t give the game a fair chance because he didn’t want to try it to begin with. He rushed to be able to say that he didn’t like it so people would stop telling him to play it is my assumption.
quin can read a Diablo 3 guide on the best gear for the season.
*Can't read a few lines telling him how to dodge boss attacks*
Somewhen in the beginning Asmongold said "I'm not going to boost because people will say oh well, his opinion doesn't matter 'cause he boosted, so I'm not going to do that" (or smth along those lines)
And that is precisely the reason the whole Quin thing blew up so much. How can you have an opinion on a game you haven't really played? And of course, the fans of said game won't like it if it's negative. Add 2 and 2 together and it's the result you get. And I'm pretty sure that would be the case for ANY community not just FF XIV
This Quin guy seems like the type who would accidentally glitch a God mode on and not realise it. Thinkin he's crushin n shit. Untouchable.
Didnt Quin like play Diablo/Poe for years, where your character just explode the screen while you look at chat.
The worst part is that I've met WoW players in FFXIV that boosted, but they still want to learn and get better. One of them even made fun of Quin69 for sucking so bad at savage raids.
Work to Game boosted. But he actually worked to become GOOD at the game so he could make proper content with Ginger Prime. Of course he's also a guy who doesn't like being a giant joke.
"You have to read it bro" There are literally thousands of dollars worth of books to make full sense of WoW story, lol.
What Quinn should have said was "I've thought I gave FF14 my best but FF14 got the best of me instead." That one simple sentence explains everything without making ass of himself and without poking the hive nest.
To get WoW's story you literally have to read several entire books. In pretty sure that's more than we have in FF14.
Yea and thats why wow sucks. Dont you want to learn the lore and story through the game? Thats just retarded. They want you to buy books. Why not include the story in the game. WoW has no immersion at all. Its just a game for grinding. Im new to FFXIV and its really the best MMO i have ever played. I played many and WoW was just fun in pvp but thats it. FF14 has atleast a interesting world and storybuilding. Im just lvl 36 but i find it already interesting

Image if FF14 gutted out important story content like if X character got killed or went "off screen" to do other stuff then came back in the next expansion and you learn that they are either dead or have achieve something that is story changing but none of it was told ingame but you rather had to buy 3 different book to learn what happened to anyone xD
Also OP, don't forget WoW is 8 expacks deep while FF14 is only 5. Almost double, so yeah It make sense that WoW would have more story, the only difference is that FF14 does it all ingame.

I'm giving the free trial a go. Not minding it but I have to say I tried reading the story but just can't be ass'd, way too much of a commitment and even when there is voice acting it's kinda gringy. Hard too get immersed when lips are moving with no voice. The rest is all good tho
Good take! The lip flaps without sound can be a bit jarring to get used to. If you decide to continue your journey through Eorzea the voice actors change, at least IMO it’s stilted voice acting in ARR was the main point on cringe. But if you choose to not continue, that’s fine too at least you gave it an honest shot.
ARR voices are really bad, they changed the whole cast in heavensward and onward. The optimal way of surviving ARR is skipping every thing (not boosting just speedrunning it) and just go watch a recap before heavensward.

In his defense, getting hit by the overlapping AoEs is understandable because you need to move before it happens since those circles happen so fast. But also, any skilled MMO player should know that if you don't know the mechanics to a fight, you should probably pay close attention to the others who do and mimic them moving out when they do.
True but it is also a learning curve to figure out you get hit when telegraphs disqppear not when the attack animation starts like in other games

Not trying to argue against you Jaron but time dumps are the nature of the genre. All mmorpgs takes time and investment to get some degree of payback. No one is forcing Quinn to play, he forced himself into a bad position
I prefer ESO, because I'm more of a action combat PvP player,
but I've never had any salt against FFXIV, it's for different people
BDO GW2 WOW players seem to have this chip on their shoulder about competition games though
No one is forcing him to give the game a fair chance. Just say the game is too slow to pick up and he is too bored, can't get into it. But instead he said he got to know the story and it sucks (when he didn't) and that he learned his class at a basic level and can keep up with lvl 80 players (what? he didn't even know Samurai basic skills for all the 3 sen). The problem is he made purely false claims. That is the reason for the backlash.
If he had come out and said, I tried, but I really wasnt enjoying myself, and I didnt feel the need to go forward personally. It didnt grab me, I don't think anyone would talk shit, but because he started trying to break down stuff about the game without really playing it, thats when you are going to step on some toes.
people really be defending this man under a vague pretext of “ff community toxic” like there exist any game community that isn’t a bit bitter bile 🙃
I just started playing FFXIV last month, It's a great a game but it is different than WoW. I will most likely play both. I think FFXIV has a lot more to offer than WoW overall, but I think WoW is much better in terms of open world immersion. I personally can get lost in WoW leveling all day long and enjoy the immersion and not get bored, however in FFXIV, the non-raid combat, teleporting everywhere, and cutscenes kind of take me out of immersion and I get bored quicker. I like both games though, I think the sell point for FFXIV is the sheer amount and interesting things you can do. One of my favorite things are the unique class concepts, ex: scholar, astrologian, dancer.
The one and only time I boosted was when Stormblood came out and I REALLY wanted to play RDM. So just used a class boost cause I didn't have access to my old account. But I played through Heavensward and got as far as Shinryu in Stormblood before I quit playing. Picked it up again a few months later on a new server and played through THE ENTIRE game lol.
Streamers have nothing but time to play games, not sure why any one of them would be concerned with having to spend hundreds of hours on an MMO before formulating an opinion, it's just more content.
Quin simply doesn't have the attention span for most games, it's as simple as that.
You gotta remember, people like Quin dont play this game in good faith. Same with Soda. They know their audience are primarily WoW fanboys, so they aren't obligated to give the game a fair shake.
I don't understand why would anyone boost their first character in either of these games.
Even in WoW I've had the best time while leveling and exploring the world, the end game grind has always made me lose the interest in the game and I've tried it at every expansion since Cataclysm.
Some people prefer endgame

Out of my group of friends i am the only one that took up and committed to the ff14 grind whilst the others started getting into ESO. Its been a month of almost daily playing and i am about a few days away from getting into Shadowbringers. I respect the fact that everyone has a right to their own opinion, but for the sake of all that is holy do not throw out false statements about a game when you haven't put the time in. Quinn literally could have said the initial opening to the game did not get him invested and got bored and no one would have called him out, but that sadly didn't happen. At least Asmon is having fun though.
I actually did play through the story and I still like WoW story better, I have no idea whats goin on in WoW atm cause I quit in BFA but I still liked the story up to that point.
That's fine, people can like what they prefer. The issue is more disingenuous criticism.
@@Lamorakc I agree fully, I also want to say that ff14 story isnt bad at all I just prefer not being the main character lol. I like being a nobody and watching the drama unfold. Both WoW and ff14 have great stories I just prefer WoW more.

Mostly they'll just say it's too weeb for them, but I've seen a few admit that they hate it because it's not American or European. I get those vibes from this guy for sure.
Its crazy how hypocritical Quin is, bro said he enjoys WoW's story better than FFXIV, and something about having to read, when you have to rear WoW's story, and hell half of WoW's story is outside the game in actual books
