Due to the compartmentalization of information, the minor functionary Nevins would never have been permitted to hear of Jason Bourne until the very moment Nevins needed to know and was told on the telephone-not in a million years. The responsibilities of the two men were too different. Compared to anything Nevins dealt with, facts and details about Bourne and Treadstone would be in utterly different compartments.
Love the Bourne trilogy. The best action movies ever made. The acting, the locations, the cinematography are so cleverly done. Makes most other action movies look ridiculous
I hate the excessive shaky cam, but beyond that it's a solid set of movies.
They started the shaky cam trend, though. That's the only grievance I have with theses. Well, basically the original trilogy - everything after that was trash
@@Puschit1 The Jeremy Renner one was not bad. Unnecessary reboot, but not awful.
@@Wordsalad69420 Maybe not trash but it didn't add anything and just repeated every single element once another time. A mediocre movie feels like trash when it is late in a franchise. Renner tried but really, there was nothing to work with. The thing is - Jason Bournes story has been told at the end of Ultimatum. The 2016 "Jason Bourne" was a hollow shell of it's former glory and as bland as the title suggests. If you reboot this, you need a different spin to it. Legacy could have started around the time the assets got recruited and could have covered the training and first missions, maybe up until the events of the first movie. The assets being plagued with headaches, guilt and doubt.
Bourne is awesome because he is an underdog being hunted by the establishment. And he has to use his brains to outmaneuver his enemies, not firepower
the first thing they threaten with is job security rather than working together to solve a problem... these jaded bureaucrats deserve everything they received in this franchise
they are no longer working for any principals, ideology, or even their own country. They are slaves working for the bankers.
Yeah, and nobody is trained for this type of guy. It cost literally milions to make him good assassin
Oh, yea, they should have sent HR there to help coach him and given him a therapist to help him overcome the trauma of being assaulted. He didn’t do his job, they were first about what they wanted and she indicated she’d call for a report. That’s how you get to the point when time is short and lives are on the line.
@@mrgreen4688 They probably should have sent better agents who were adequately trained yes. This is like sending a toddler to fix a nuclear power plant and then being surprised that it didn't work...

As much as I like current action films, we have lost the magic that was the Bourne trilogy.
No fancy moves, no flips or spins. Just quick, efficient, merciless knockouts by Bourne.
Badass
that is why John Wick is the best action movies... quick, efficient and realistic-ish. Not fancy
And France.
Bourne Trilogy, and then Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace with Daniel Craig, Skyfall too, were the last like truly great shoot-em-up action films I think we got really excluding John Wick obv
You mean shaky cam and quick cuts? John Wick was directed by stunt professionals. Keanu Reeves put in the work, so you can see the action.
Matt Damon trained and learned Filipino Martial Arts (for hand to hand combat) for four months straight before he started shooting...
I love how he knocks them both out instantly at the best time, before he does he sits there like a motionless robot waiting for its next task. Crazy good acting.

He knew he’d get pinged but he wanted to get the intel. Ballsy stuff. Also incredible planning to choose a room with the correct height printer.
Absolutely one of my favourite scenes in the trilogy. An action packed espionage thriller film. Matt Damon was superb.

Whos Matt Damon? This is Jason Bourne
I love the Paris car chase in the first movie with the Austin Mini and the taxi that he steals in this film. There is nothing fancy or powerful about those cars and they still are able to get things done as well as have you on the edge of your seat.
They certainly didn't need fancy, new cars for these films.

"You're gonna play ball, one way or the other!"
He DID play ball, but in the way you didn't even get to see it. 😆
I remember the moment I was able to watch this at home I went straight to this scene to watch it over and over and finally noticed the editor cut out a couple of frames between him punching the CIA agent and the local officer. That's why he looked impressively swift
I first noticed that technique in the movie Gangster Squad; I was watching a behind the scenes thing for the movie and they were showing the filming of an interior brawl scene and I noticed all the tackling, throwing, and punching looked so slow vs the same scene/cut in the actual movie. That’s when I realized they’re cutting frames. Very effective.

"Do you have Jason Bourne in custody? Consider him armed an very dangerous!"
*Jason Bourne is in custody because he choses to be, and he doesn't kill anyone unless they are after his life*
If that would have been smartly played, She would have told "let him go, apologize and make him go away". Without anything to make him slip around. And then get skilled person on the site to even track him.
But telling to a someone unknown subject that they have highest trained assassin in the room.... Without knowing anything about the situation etc. Just downplaying.
@@paristo Please note that Landy didn't talk to that field agent until after Bourne escaped. A lower official told the agent. Landy came in after being informed that Bourne was in custody. The next thing she was told was that he escaped.

2:12 this guy is a field officer? He didn’t even last 5 seconds in a fight. 😂😂
I have news for you...this is a movie and Bourne is an actor and they shoot this on a set...Daaa.
That’s why he’s a field officer in a mostly safe allied country. He isn’t elite like Jason Bourne is.
@kirklanyoshinaga8953
Field officer is just a job title. It's someone that works in the field, out away from the office. He's "out" from the consulate, doesn't make him an assassin or soldier the way Jason is. He goes "out" to do questioning. Check out tv shows like "Border Security" to see what the officers doing questioning does. So it's not unusual at all that he was unprepared for the kind of thing Jason can do.
And FYI there are other "field" jobs, like "field researcher". An officer could be any type of officer. People working in a lab are called "technical officers" and at the hospital, doctors are formally called "medical officers".
It’s only his 4th year as a field officer. A few more years of training and he can last for 10-15 seconds in a fight.
I love the way the locker fitted the door handler. So soothinggggggg
30 minutes later he doesn't bother answering his phone and has turned in his resignation.
Only if he’s smart!
This is the best scene in Supremacy.
I always buy office cabinets exactly half an inch lower than my room's door handle. Just in case I'd have to lock an FBI agent in.
Yeah that was definitely a problematic construction design. They should fire the contractor because the door was supposed to open in, but they didn’t catch it on the change order so it got installed just like that.
That"s good planning! Though door handles actually turn both ways...
I always walk out of job interviews that didn't go well by putting my nose really close to the door, opening it a crack, then gently closing it, opening it, closing it three times like Robert McCall.
@@dons5641 not all, not always.
@@dons5641 even if the handle can turn both ways, how many times do people turn the handle up?
Where I work, the lobby entry door has a access code to get in, and you have to turn the handle UP. It won’t open if you turn it down. When visitors go, they’re given the code and the instruction for the handle. I watch everyone of them fail to turn up the handle... several times. Even our own employees who go through that door several times a day, will do it wrong from time to time.
It’s a deterrent, not so much a true stop.

1:16 that moment when he finally turns his gaze on the agent, it's like watching a tiger sizing up an antelope. This is when you realize Bourne is a cold blooded killer.
Yet he didn't kill them. It's more like he was figuring out that someone was telling the guy on the phone that he was Jason Bourne and he had to get out of there fast. He'd been waiting for just the moment when a distraction would happen that he could take advantage of, and he did.
@@arthapeterson5239 Jason Bourne was a cold-blooded killer. At this point he no longer is, and will avoid killing if possible. But if they leave him no choice, he can become one again.

Yeah except Paul Green grass knows how to do it well, so you get information and tension. The taken movies are terribly edited
I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of the shaky cam.
This is not that agent’s fault. He didn’t receive clear instructions on how to deal with the priority target. And it’s clear that Bourne didn’t move until the agent reached for his gun meaning that he could have left the room with Bourne and the policeman locked inside and waited for back up.
That is what someone with clear instructions or at least experience dealing with dangerous CIA assets who are trained assassins, would have done
